Buick V6 Engine - NEOPRENE REAR MAIN SEAL Turbo Regals sometimes develop major problems when driven hard. Your factory Turbo Regal has what is commonly referred to as a "rope seal," which is used as the rear main seal on the engine. Because of its design, it's prone to leak. Unfortunately, although the seal is warrantied, usually your Buick dealer replaces it ONLY with another GM rope seal. The cure for this problem is to replace the rope seal with the neoprene seal that forms a better seal to avoid leaks in the rear main. The neoprene seal is grooved to stay in position so it won't shift like the rope seal. This seal is difficult to find for the Buick V6. Keep one on hand for replacement in case of a rear main leak in the future. Fits all V6 Buicks.
