Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 12-21-2022 - CHRISTMAS 2022 M&M CONTEST WINNERS - Taking first place with a guess of 245 is John Rjakbak out of western Pennsylvania. John is one of the rare individuals that actually ordered his 1987 Turbo-T in 1987. Very unique crank windows with power door locks and radio delete. The dealer was worried he would back out and since he ordered a radio delete he wanted double the deposit up front! I visited John several years ago as he resides outside of Pittsburgh and I was a VIP speaker at the GTO National convention and visited with him. Car has a mere 6,000 miles on it. What really makes it different is the trim panel above the glove box is for a Grand National!!! It came that way from the factory! He also says it's pretty much original down to the 1987 air in the tires! A customer of ours since 1989! Also owns a Hellcat and a 1990 ZR1 with 7,000 miles on it. As well as a 1968 Z28 Camaro with a mere 22,000 miles on it. You might say John has all the bases covered in years to come as values can only increase on his choices of cars! Coming in second place right behind him with a guess of 243 was Vincent Cutugno out of Staten Island, NY. Actual M&M count was 250! Vince actually owns one of my 1987 Grand Nationals. He bought it from me in 2015. Congrats to both winners. I have not yet heard from the first place winner to know what year Turbo Regal he owns. FROM START TO FINISH CUSTOM BUILT 1967 GTO FOR BLANCO BROWN - For those of you that have either taken on a major restoration project or considered, do one be prepared for the amount of time and money into such a project undertaking. It is one thing to do a total stock appearance restoration; it requires a higher skill level to attempt one that is considered a resto mod. A rest mod is when you combine the original exterior appearance and put under the hood a later powerplant, updated suspension and interior from a later model. In this case our son Darrell started with a 1967 LeMans and mated it to a 2005 GTO with the LS2 drivetrain and interior. Even relocating the gas tank while retaining the 1967 appearance was a challenge. He would move the gas fill neck to behind the rear window. Installing the 12005 GTO dash in the 1967 GTO shell was just another challenge to overcome. There is no manual with detailed directions on doing projects of this nature. Nor is it possible to even imagine the amount of hours alone invested in advance to complete a project of this undertaking. You have to have a strong will power to stay focused to make it to the end. The end results are shown below. A one-of-kind factory appearing 1967 GTO that packs the wallop of a LS2 2005 GTO in suspension drivetrain and interior. Custom built for well known country singer Blanco Brown. I presented to Blanco Brown for his personal collection one of my old Pennsylvania license plates MR GTO. To see a lot more detail of this project go to our sons facebook page: PHOTO 2 - The top left photo is very early on after Darrell had removed the original body from the frame. That is me getting ready to go for a drive minus my hat! The other three photos show various photos of the finished project. To see the entire process start to finish go to my son's facebook page Kirban Customs inc. 1996 FORD RANGER XLT FOR SALE IS STILL AVAILABLE - This is one of our personal vehicles that we have owned for 9 years. A very long time for me to keep a vehicle! It has always been garaged during that time and based on how nice the original paint is the truck was probably garaged most of its life. Actual miles is 196,000. My email is [email protected] for more info. LATEST PARTS AVAILABLE THIS WEEK - PHOTO 3 - The top left photo shows a matched set of blue visors in good original condition with no mirror option. The top right photo shows a rare page from a 1986 Upholstery binder showing the various seta material samples for the 1986 Regal including the Grand National. The bottom left photo shows a NOS GM correct overflow cap, glossy black powder coated hood latch, reproduction satin black power steering reservoir bracket, and a correct original used Made in England radiator cap. The bottom right photo shows a used flip down stay down rear license plate bracket, used tps sensor, used wastegate solenoid, and a glossy black powder coated safety hood latch. All these items are listed for sale under the rare Parts section as usual. CLOSING OUT 2022 - Remember there is NO midweek Inner Circle next week. It will resume again the first Wednesday in January 2023. I take that week off every year. The staff at Kirban Performance and Kirban Enterprises wishes you and your Family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2023. Pictured below is my staff at Kirban Enterprises. PHOTO 4 - The top left photo shows a Christmas Tree cartoon that cartoonist Matt Blair did for us many years ago. The middle photo shows an orange cat with one eye that hangs around outside our pole building that I feed. I can actually pet him or her. The top right is our indoor male cat, a gift from my granddaughter earlier this year. He is a handful to say the least. We call him buddy. He and Eileen have yet to make friends! He actually has figured out how to open the interior doors in our house! Our interior doors have the handle style handles not the round style. Eileen has to make a sign that says occupied for the bathroom door so he knows not to enter.! I am not 100% sure if he can read though. The bottom left is a young female cat I named Squeak. She is one of two that reside in our heated pole building where I work. The bottom right shows Fuzz Ball, our long haired cat. She simply showed up at our house about 6 years ago. They both have a super sweet disposition. I have a cat door so they are free to roam outside whenever they want. The shrubbery bed is their litter box. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR - We at Kirban Performance and Kirban Enterprises greatly appreciate your business all these many years. It is hard to believe that the Turbo Regals that we all love (oil leaks and all) are now over 35 years old! The future of collectible muscle cars going forward could be disappearing in future years with the increase in electric vehicles coming to market and gas power cars in danger of being outlawed and discontinued. However, at my current age 75 I think I am safe for a few years before it goes away! I got to see first hand both waves of the muscle car era the mid 1960s and the mid 1980s. I think the bulk of collector cars in the future will be Mopars. The Dodge Challenger format basically remains unchanged since it appeared a number of years ago. So for shear numbers the Challenger of late could be highly collectable in years to come. Again just my opinion. The Hellcat definitely makes a statement. Also seems to be the preferred car among car thieves. On a side note I consider myself fortunate to have 3 sisters and 1 brother and we have always gotten along. I am the oldest and provided the most problems for my parents growing up. I have one sister who resides in Washington state and another sister who resides in Nebraska. My third sister and brother reside near me in Pennsylvania. The family bond is strong. I hope you are fortunate enough to enjoy the same relationship with your siblings. My wife Eileen also has a good relationship with her three sisters and two brothers. CHRISTMAS SPECIALS REMINDER ENDS THIS WEEK - Here is a rundown on our annual Christmas specials. NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE - We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle. When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another. Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works. You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version. NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo. If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
