Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 05-15-2013
TWO NEAT LITTLE ACCESSORIES -
I am referring to the plastic diagnostic cover and the plastic tab that you grab to flip down the license plate bracket. The diagnostic cover has long been discontinued by GM. You see them on eBay from time to time, anywhere from $15 to $30 each! From what I understand, at some point during the late 1980s this cover was used in a Corvette. This cover simply covered the diagnostic connector found under the dash. The other item that I have seen from time to time is a small plastic tab that attaches to the license plate bracket that you grab to pull down the bracket to remove your gas cap.
PHOTO 1 - In this top photo we show both the GM Diagnostic plastic cover and the plastic license plate bracket tab. In the bottom photo we show the license plate plastic tab installed on a license plate bracket. It goes in the top left corner. It will only fit if you do not have a frame around the license plate. Over the years I have seen very few of these license plate bracket tabs, so I can only guess if it came originally on our Regals or not. I actually found the diagnostic covers on some Oldsmobiles in the junkyard. (Tough part was remembering to look for them!)
MORE PHOTOS FROM TURBO BUICK - G BODY NATIONALS -
PHOTO 2 - In this top left photo we show one of the five original Methanol cars that was at Richard's Shop during the Turbo Buick GBody Nationals. A huge stainless tank was fabricated when the car was new, which also eliminated the spare tire well. In the top right photo we show some of the powermaster test equipment that Richard built to test powermaster brake units. It's hard to describe how a GNX turbo differs from a stock turbo. It's best seeing one with the turbo shield removed to see the difference. In this bottom left photo we show a GNX turbo and the arrow points to the particle trap section that only the GNX turbo has. A stock turbo would not have this feature. In the bottom right photo we show just a very small sampling of the 1986-1987 Turbo engines that sit in Richard's shop.
PHOTO 3 - In this top left and top right photos we show one method to replace the factory method to direct airflow directly to the radiator. This fabricated metal shielding replaces the rubber-like material GM used. In the bottom left photo we show a completely gutted real GNX showing the factory installed rear seat brace. This is identical to the one we sell, Part #7169. In the bottom right photo we show what a GNX fender looks like with the fender flare removed. Notice the crude edge and how dirt builds up along the lip area.
PHOTO 4 - Behind Richard's shop there are at least 25-35 Grand Nationals sitting. In this top left photo we show just a small portion of his collection. In this top right photo shows a very rare 1983 T-Type Regal. In the bottom left is a close up of the driver's fender (note the Power Six emblem and the very small T-Type emblem.) The bottom right photo shows one of the very rare 1986 LeSabre Grand Nationals that is part of Richard's massive collection. This is the model that had the solid red "Power 6" symbol, making it different from the regular Grand National emblem.
ANOTHER URGENT REQUEST -
Once again we find ourselves needing original stock AC Delco correct 1986-1987 Turbo Regal mass air flow sensors. The housing can NOT be broken. Screens are not important. Each one that meets these requirements is worth $25 in Letter of Credit to us. Help us help other owners keep their cars original.
1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL FOR SALE -
The 5,200-mile Grand National we featured in last week's Inner Circle (5-8-2013) may be sold. If you are still interested, email me direct - [email protected].
KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS ON YouTube -

Some segments feature products, their placements, benefits, or issues.
In one of the segments I explain the LED dash lights we have available for the analog dash and the Low Fuel warning unit. There is also a segment on the Tinman cold air system.

This part is actually made for us by the same Turbo Buick racer who makes the Scanmaster Mounting Bracket, Part #7496.

The type style is similar to the original 3.8 SFI TURBO emblem used on the car, as shown in our second photo.

SCANMASTER MOUNTING BRACKET
for Any Buick Turbo Regal Steering Column
This clever product was actually developed and made by a Turbo Regal owner that races his Turbo Regal. It is fabricated in aluminum and designed to sit across the top area of your steering column. Attached to the arched base part is a flat part that your Scanmaster sits on.
The end result is your Scanmaster is directly in front of you in your line of vision. Even after a year of racetrack testing, this bracket didn’t come loose. Each bracket comes with easy-to-follow directions.
A nice custom mounting technique for the popular Scanmaster for your Turbo Regal.

REPRODUCTION AIR CONDITIONING HOSES (2) SET
This is a quality reproduction of the two main air conditioning lines, which go across the front of the engine by the core support.
The one set of fittings goes to the air conditioner compressor. One of the other ends goes to the drier receiver on the passenger’s side. The remaining fitting goes to the condenser towards the front on the passenger’s side.
These are identical to the original except the aluminum lines are not painted black like the originals. If you want them to look factory original, you can paint them.
In some cases, your originals may be cracked or severely bent from leaning over the front of the engine.
Another great engine restoration item.

LOOKING FOR IDEAS -
If you have any product ideas that would fit our Turbo Buick market that you would like to see available, email me direct - [email protected]
ALWAYS IN A BUYING POSITION WORKS -
Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - [email protected].
Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] - I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
