KIRBAN PERFORMANCE SEPTEMBERFEST OPEN HOUSE -

The weather was picture perfect on Saturday for our Septemberfest Open House. We have been extremely fortunate all these years to only have bad weather a few times for our Open House events or Reunion events. Typically, our Fall Open Houses are not as well attended as the ones we do every Spring.

Russ and Nancy served over 150 meals for lunch and we had about 50-55 cars in attendance.

We did have several first-time customers come to the Septemberfest. Richard Clark also made the trip. The last time he was at one of our events was when Molly was here for my 60th birthday in 2007. We had at least one low-mileage GNX in attendance from New York. Even a DeLorean showed up. Not a car you see very often. In talking to the owner, he mentioned he also owns a Turbo Regal.

The no reserve auction was a hit and featured about 20-25 items. Bidding on several unusual items was quite spirited.

We also showed several of our new products and demonstrated the new Halogen H4 headlights. Even in the bright sunlight, the difference was very noticeable.

The lunch menu was expanded from the lunch in the springtime, giving people many different choices. The Yum Yum donuts were completely gone in a matter of hours.

PHOTO 1 - The top left photo shows a small crowd around Richard Clark as he was explaining the inner workings of a powermaster brake unit to the GNX owner. To the far left is Terry Shaw, the insurance expert who was giving a special show price on car appraisals. The top right photo shows me (Dennis Kirban) and Richard at the Open House. The lower left photo shows our Granddaughter Devyn and Edward manning the Registration Table where each person received a free raffle ticket and took a guess on the M & M contest. The lower right photo shows some of the cars in the lot.

PHOTO 2 - The top photos shows just a portion of the line up of cars that were there by 9 am. The lower left photo shows what many thought was the top raffle prize of the day! One of the quickest cars produced by Mercedes Benz! It's owned by Henry Mann. He has had it tuned to pump out over 630 hp. The lower right photo shows the DeLorean. I almost expected Michael Fox to exit the car!

PHOTO 3 - The top left photo shows one of the Grand Nationals that had this early-type hydraulic brake system on it with a 1981 Cadillac brake reservoir. It's not a set up you see every day as a replacement for a powermaster unit. This customer is in the military and has taken the car all over the country, including Hawaii. The top right photo shows the current Hawaii license plate. If we had a long-distance award, he would have won! The lower left photo shows the start of the long food line at Russ and Nancy's food tent. The lower right photo shows the long line for the great food spread Russ and Nancy's provided.

I am sure several of the people that attended will have posted photos on Turbo Buick, as I was only able to take few.

We recently had one of the sayings associated with the Grand National made into a street sign format. We introduced this new sign at our Open House.

PHOTO 4 - Here is a picture of the street sign we just had made. Using the quote "BAD TO THE BONE" formatted to look like a street sign. For more information and pricing, see it listed under new products in this email, Part #7540. These are in stock. Makes a great garage art sign or display with your car.

TV SHOWS -

I'm recommending two TV shows that you may find interesting.

One is called "Person of Interest" and is in its second season on Tuesday night, 10 PM eastern time. It's a very clever show with a touch of humor.

The second show is brand new this season entitled, "The Black List," starring James Spader. It's on Monday night, 10 pm eastern time. Hands down one of the best drama shows of the new season and very well thought out.

For comedy, it's tough to beat "The Big Bang Theory" and "Modern Family."

EVER SEE A BUICK LIKE THIS BEFORE? -

This ad is in our local area Craigs List - 1971 Buick HT 6 Wheel Factory Car (Hamburg, Pa)

I didn't have time to call the seller to see what the idea was behind this unique "tire arrangement" of two additional hydraulic wheels in the back. Claims to be a factory car. Runs and drives.

ANOTHER EX-KIRBAN CAR FOR SALE - 1987 WE4 BUICK TURBO REGAL -

I just saw this 1987 WE4 Buick Turbo Regal about 3 weeks ago. This one of the best-of-the-best examples of a sought-after WE4, and it is absolutely show quality inside and out. The grey interior is still very nice. This car is show car, ready as it sits, and is priced to sell.

This 1987 Turbo Regal is a WE4 hardtop with less than 25,000 original miles. The current owner purchased it from me back in July of 2000, when it had about 17,000 miles. The car has never seen the rain since he got it from me. Car is located in New Jersey. I can provide a list of upgrades that have been done.

According to the owner, he has invested over $12,000 in various upgrades to make this an outstanding example of a WE4.

This is a well-optioned WE4 hardtop that has not been advertised.

PRICE JUST REDUCED - $17,000. For more details, email me - [email protected]

CLOSE OUT SPECIAL -

We recently bought out another company’s billet-style oil tube and breather assembly. This fits all the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal driver’s side valve cover. All billet construction with O-ring and a new chrome-plated top breather is included. Overall height is 4 inches. (See Inner Circle 08-14-2013 Photo 4)

We have about 20 of them at $34.95 each. You must call Christina - 215-766-1611 or email - [email protected] - to purchase this, since it has no part number and supplies are limited. The company has no plans to make this part again. It normally sold for over $40 each.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US -

“BAD TO THE BONE BLVD” STREET SIGN

Here is a clever sign for a car show display or to use as garage art.

One of the clever sayings associated with the Turbo Regals, and the Grand National in particular, is “BAD TO THE BONE.”

We have produced this familiar quote, “BAD TO THE BONE” BLVD on a green PVC material, making it appear like an actual street sign. Sign can be drilled if you want to hang it.

The size is 4" tall by 30" long.

Makes a great addition to a garage, office or as a gift to any Turbo Buick enthusiast.

7540 - “BAD TO THE BONE BLVD” Street Sign - $17.95

NEW REPRODUCTION FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET -

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
Reproduction FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET

These cars originally came with a special front license plate bracket that attached under the front lip of the front bumper.

If you plan to install a front license plate or if your state requires it, you need this bracket.

Because of the contour of the front bumper, if you simply attach a front license plate to the top holes on the front bumper, the front license plate will bend.

This bracket is made in aluminum and eliminates that problem.

Each one comes with new inserts to secure the plate and two screws to secure the bracket to the bottom edge of the front bumper.

Another great exterior restoration item.

REPRODUCTION BATTERY HOLD-DOWN BRACKET

We stock this reproduction battery hold-down bracket.

Our top photos show two views of the bracket.

The lower left photo shows the bracket on a newer AC Delco battery.

The lower right photo shows the battery bracket on an original equipment AC DELCO FREEDOM battery.

NOTE - It is important you have the proper size battery in your 1986-1987 Turbo Regal in order for this battery hold-down bracket to fit. This reproduction battery hold-down will not fit any battery taller than 7-1/4".

Another great engine restoration item.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].

ABOUT OUR EMAILS -

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] - I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.

IN CLOSING -

GS NATIONALS EVENT is now just two weeks from today! Currently we have no need for any powermaster, turbos or mass air flow sensor cores.

However, if you have any other parts that you want to trade for our parts, be sure to bring them to the GS Nationals. We may be a buyer. The new parts we bring to GS Nationals will be at special show prices. Hope to see many of you there.
