LATEST NEW PARTS FROM US - 3.8 SFI TURBO AND HIGH OUTPUT V6 HOOD DECALS - We just had decals made that basically duplicate in type style as well as length and width the original plastic 3.8 sfi hood emblems. At the same time we also did a decal that simply says High Output V6 that is the same height and length as the plastic 3.8 hood emblems. With the reproduction plastic 3.8 SFI hood emblems now selling for $50 to $60 a pair this is an inexpensive alternative. Plus easier to wax around. It is very easy when drying your car to accidentally hit the 3 and break it off from the 3.8 sfi emblem! I know I did it more than once on cars we bought and sold. Not to mention how many I had to replace because they were broken Both of these new decals will be in stock next Monday. They are not yet on our website. The part number is #8040 for the 3.8 sfi single set (2) and #8041 for 2 sets. The part number is #8042 for the High Output V6 single set and #8043 for 2 sets. You save a few bucks if you buy 2 sets. Besides it pays to buy 2 sets in case you mess one up doing the install! Prices are $16.95 for one single set(2) or $30 for 2 sets (You save $3.90). PHOTO 1 - We show the two versions of the new vinyl chrome hood decals alongside the actual reproduction 3.8 SFI plastic hood emblems. Decals are made in a high grade chrome looking vinyl material that will stand up in heat. Since I was researching and doing all these various information booklets I located a very unusual Buick publication from my Buick Library that I had forgotten I had. The title is “Buick Dealer Parts and Accessories Price Schedule. What really makes this a very desirable book is the effective date is December 1, 1987. This manual is over 1 inch thick. You can literally research any GM part number and instantly find a bunch of info including the list price, trade price, dealer cost! Again these are actual prices back in 1987 when these cars were new. For example the 3.8 hood emblems that are now in reproduction sell for like $55 to $60 a set. In 1987 the list price was just $6.95 each! The dealer paid $4.17 each! While I was researching that I wondered if the GNX part numbers were also in this book? They are! Example the GNX rear end cover was just $498 list. The GNX turbo shield was $486. The GNX turbo $2,648. I must have known that when I purchased 10 or 12 new GNX turbos many years ago. Think I sold them for $2500 each many years ago. This book being a December 1987 print date is extremely rare as I am sure most were simply thrown out when a new one was issued. I imagine every year they came out with a new one. It also lists all the GM warehouses throughout the country. It also has codes for special order and codes for each GM car line. I am glad that years ago I sought out every Buick book I could find related to the 1984-1987 Buicks as it provides documentation. Today would be next to impossible to find a 1987 edition of this unique book. I also have a newer two volume set dated March 2001. This two volume set weighs 7 ½ lbs! It is for sale under the Rare Parts section. This two volume set is more than twice as thick as the single 1987 volume book is. The two volume set has the same basic green cover. Reminds me of when years ago I went back to the high school my wife and I graduated from and gave the school library my 350 page book I wrote on the Turbo Regals as a gift. We attended a small school. My class graduation was just under 100 students. PHOTO 2 - The top left and right photos show two pictures of this very rare factory December 1987 Buick book that has all the prices and costs to the dealer back in 1987. The bottom left and bottom right photo show the updated March 2001 version of the same book that became a two volume set. This two volume set dated March 2001 is listed in the Rare Parts section for sale. Together they weigh over 7 lbs. TOP TEN REASONS I OWN A BUICK GRAND NATIONAL - BANNER/POSTER While I was going through my stash of books and literature to create the detailed Information booklets I came across the poster we did several years ago “TOP TEN REASONS I OWN A BUICK GRAND NATIONAL ''. Back then we merely printed a few posters for one of our Open House events. Our plan is to offer it possibly as a set of two versions, one as a paper poster to take to car shows and one as a vinyl banner to hang in your garage or living room. The paper poster one would be 11 by 17 and the vinyl banner would be larger. Watch for updates on this. I like to create a similar one for the T-Type/Turbo-T owners. As you can see in Photo 3 below some of the quotes we list for the Grand National will not work for a T-Type or Turbo-T Regal. So, I put the question to you, our readers. It also shows their actual mileage,, what price I got for the car, and where in the country the car went. It covers car sales from 1993 up until 2009. This is probably the only documented listing of over 300 sold by one individual. It also includes of course the first GNX I sold with 179,000 miles for $13,900 in 2001. I sold very very few cars locally, so O’Neil Buick seldom ever got to see the buyer to do the paperwork in person nor did they ever have any of the cars at their lot! The most Turbo Regals I had at one time was 9 which occurred during the one bad winter we had. The best time to buy a Turbo Regal or any performance car was between Christmas and January. Terrible time to try and sell them if you reside in the northern part of the country. ! WINDOW RACER - Our part number is #8036 for this clever part to vastly increase the speed of your Turbo Regal power window. On the website it says it is in stock. I think years ago a Buick employee told me the motors Buick used in the Regal coupes was the same ones they used in the 4 door sedans. I assume the 4 door sedan windows were small and lighter and therefore the stock motor worked as it should. However if that same motor went into the Regal coupe that glass is heavier and the end result is a very slow operating power window. Regardless of the history there is no denying the fact the Regal power window motor lacks “speed” in either direction. VACUUM BRAKE KITS #7625 & #7679 - Currently we should have all the parts. The hardest part is getting the vacuum brake pedal. If you have any pedals whether it's for the turbo format or vacuum we are a buyer. We get the turbo one rewelded with the correct diameter pin and in the correct spot for the vacuum format. I think currently we are the only company that offers the vacuum kit with the vacuum brake pedal. We also sell the vacuum brake kit with the correct size pin instead of the complete pedal and specs so you can have the proper pin welded to your Turbo Regal pedal and cut off the Turbo Regal pin off the original pedal. That kit is part number #7679. THE FOLLOWING PHOTO SHOWS SET OF 4 DESIGNER SERIES DIECASTS - We are doing something slightly different this week for Photo 4. Instead of having a set price I am going to do an auction. You would submit a single bid only. That bid has to be above the reserve price shown. Full details appear below. Epitome at the end of production did a special run of just 500 of each in 1:18 diecast of the two tone Designer Series 1987 Turbo Regals. As many of you know any two tone Designer Series car is extremely rare to find today. I can only lay claim to have maybe 3 different ones of the 300 plus that passed through my hands. The black and gray was probably the most popular. I can't imagine the two tone brown combo garnered much sales! The four 1:18 scale diecast they did were Silver/gray/ light brown/dark brown, light blue/dark blue and light burgundy/dark burgundy. I had to buy several collections of these various diecast 1:18 scale Turbo Regals in order to make a full set of the 4 different cars in this last 500 series in the 1:18 scale format. I have no idea what their true value is. The license plate on the back of each car is not the same on all 4 cars. Each car is brand new in the original double box and packaging. In other words, brand new. See Part #6200 under Rare Parts as I am doing it by auction. BREAKING NEWS LOCAL TO ME 1984 OLDS CUTLASS CALAIS COUPE 4 SALE - This car appears to be 100% original. With a window sticker. Paint appears to be original. The Calais I believe was the top of the line. Bucket seats full gauge package. The seller had plans to drop a Chevy motor in it but has found a 1986 Cutlass. He did not touch this car. It is all original. It has the small 260 V8 engine. Original wheels. Super straight body with the patina age look. It does have a half vinyl roof. Car is beige with tha tan liek interior. Here is the big selling feature. No rust issue and only has 36,900 actual miles. Seller is asking $7500, but has some wiggle room. Car needs a tune up as it was last inspected in 2020. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with Buick’s 2023 three-SUV lineup? Then it goes on to say the 3 Buick SUVs all get a new color as the big news. In other words not much is happening under the Buick nameplate. I know a few years ago they brought back the Regal T turbocharged sedan which failed to capture the excitement that the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals did. The car that does pack a punch as unlikely as it sounds is the 2023 Corolla Hatchback with 300 hp on tap backed up with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 0-60 times in the mid 4 second range and a price tag starting at $36,995. That car may be the best bang for the buck. All in a Corolla! The ones we represent in 99% of the cases are long time customers of ours. In most cases we are the only company advertising the cars for the seller.
