ULTRA ONE HEAVY DUTY DEGREASER -
We realize there are many products on the market today that you can purchase to clean whatever it is you need to clean. This product in my opinion is the best that we have tried for a variety of reasons. The result I get from this product is terrific, plus it has no fragrance or smell. To show you just how remarkable this product, is I went to the junkyard the other week and picked up a set of GM floor mats. Not just any floor mats, but embroidered Cadillac Catera floor mats, so there would be no doubt they are at least a dozen years old. (Catera was last sold as a 2001 model. The new CTS model became the replacement model in 2003.)
They make the perfect example, since they are light brown, and out of a Catera in a junkyard, so they have had plenty of neglect.
First, I vacuumed the floor mats to remove any of the loose dirt.
I then covered up half of each of the embroidered Catera Cadillac floor mats and soaked the exposed side with a regular garden hose. I then sprayed on some of the Ultra Heavy Duty Degreaser and using a household scrub brush, scrubbed the exposed portion of both mats while they were still wet with water and the Ultra Heavy Duty Degreaser.
I then set the garden hose nozzle on jet spray and rinsed the exposed half of each of the Catera floor mats. I laid both of them over a railing so they would simply drip dry in the heat. (It didn’t take long in this heat for it to dry!)
PHOTO 1 - In the top left photo we show the driver's side Catera floor mat. We've cleaned half with the Ultra One Heavy Degreaser. You can clearly see the difference. In the top right photo we show the passenger's side embroidered Catera Cadillac floor mat half cleaned. Although it was not quite as dirty, you can see the difference on this mat as well.
For any skeptics who may wonder that the half I cleaned was not as dirty as the half I did not clean, I then went back and cleaned the remaining half of both Catera floor mats. In the lower photos we show these same mats completely cleaned. They both are very close to looking like new again and are still soft to the touch.
All this was done with a regular garden hose and the Ultra One Heavy Duty Degreaser. In other words, no special equipment was used!
Remember, this is the same product that New York City uses to clean the Lincoln Tunnel. The product won’t remove hardened tar or stuck on grease unless you use some other type of product designed to dissolve the hardened tar first. But for virtually anything else, I have found this product to be the best. Of course, like anything else, the sooner you attack the dirt, the easier it is to remove it.
In quick review, our Part #7323 - Ultra One Heavy Duty Degreaser. It comes in a one gallon container, which is already premixed. I simply poured it into a smaller spray bottle so it's handy to use. Ultra One Heavy Duty Degreaser is non-toxic, free of phosphates, non-irritant, non-volatile, non-flammable, and environmentally safe. There is no smell, and no fumes. In other words, there is no downside to using this product on virtually any cleaning situation. It's mild enough to wash your hands and sneakers!
So, if you talk to Christina when you order, ask her how nice her floor mats look now in her car, since I also did her floor mats!
VARIATIONS IN GM LICENSED PRODUCTS DECALS -
As time goes on, more and more products that feature the GM logos are getting GM licensed for products that are for the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals. What you may not realize is that a GM license agreement may be issued to more than one company for the same exact part or decal. Also, that same licensed part or decal, may not be the same even though they are GM licensed!
Case in point - We deal with one source that is in the midst of getting several of the decals used on our cars GM licensed. We have been working with this source, so we could be sure it is done as accurately as possible.
The first 1986-1987 Turbo Buick label we had this source get GM licensed is for the "Harrison" Air Conditioning Compressor. Currently we are aware of one of GM licensed reproduction label for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal "Harrison" Air Conditioning Compressor.
PHOTO 2 - We show both fully licensed by GM Reproduction Harrison Air Conditioning Compressor Decals. The one we sell and had our supplier get GM licensed is shown on top. The other GM licensed Harrison Air Conditioning compressor decal is shown on the bottom.
You will notice two differences that stand out. Probably most visible is the yellow part of the decal. Ours is a brighter yellow, which we feel is correct based on the original decal and the decals on cars we have seen over the years, including our own original 1987 Turbo-T. This yellow also closely matches the yellow that is on several other GM labels under the hood, including the one on the heater box. The yellow on the other GM licensed label appears to be more of a dark mustard color.
The other difference is after the wording "CODE NO." Our source has left that blank, and not shown any six-digit code. The other GM licensed decal shows a six-digit number, which reads "041061." The reason our source elected to not show any number here is because that number is a date code and, of course, would be different throughout production.
Also, once the label is properly affixed on your Harrison Air Conditioning Compressor, that entire area of this decal is completely hidden by the AC lines or power steering lines.
In the lower left photo we show an original decal on a car. You can clearly see how difficult it is to see anything past the yellow portion of the Harrison Air Conditioning Compressor decal.
Upon further research of the 6-digit code number, I looked it up in the Parts Identification and Inspection Guide book that I have. In lower right photo shows the "COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY" page from a different 1987 Buick model application. In this code system, the first two digits represent the month, second two digits represent the day, third single digit represent the year, and the last single digit was the shift it was produced. This proves that the code numbering system was not the same number on each label.
So, using that formula on the other GM licensed Harrison Air Conditioning Compressor decals, the code "041061" stands for "April 10th 1986 Shift 1."
In quick review, my point is to only make customers aware that the same part or decal can be licensed to more than one vendor, and differences can exist between the same part or decal.
WE HAVE ANOTHER GNX DASH AVAILABLE -
This dash is just like the GNX. It has all new Stewart Warner gauges with sending units as needed. It includes a new upper speedometer cable, directions with a copy of the original ASC blueprints, a good used original gauge bezel, new applique, most important a pre-cut stock dash bezel. In other words, this is a complete kit read to install. You do not have to cut any part of your dash, you simply remove your dash and drop this one in. All the gauges are all pre-fit properly.
The only item you will have to buy to complete it is the proper plug-and-play harness. This is available from World of Motorworks. You have to specify if you have an analog dash or a digital dash when you order the harness.
The price for this complete GNX style dash is $1,995 plus shipping.
NEW COLLECTIBLE CLOCKS - NOW AVAILABLE -
One of the new clever items we just had made is in the form of an 8-¾" battery operated wall clock. Geared for any GNX owner we had a wall clock done to resemble the actual vacuum boost gauge found in your GNX gauge cluster. We also had two other versions made that resemble the speedometer in the GNX. For the miles indicator we put the number 547, which was the total production number for the GNX project. We also offer another version that we will get your actual GNX number imprinted in the odometer reading. Below the odometer reading on both versions we dropped in the quote mostly associated with the GNX project.
PHOTO 3 - We show all three of the new 8-3/4" wall clocks that we have made. For more information, see New Products in this issue.
Here is a link to these new clocks on the website:
http://www.kirbanperformance.com/products.php?search_text=7430&submit_button=
Last but not least we want to show you a few more photos from the recent GM at Carlisle event.
PHOTO 4 - The top left photo shows probably the quickest mid-1950s Oldsmobile convertible in the country. You have to love this owner's approach working with a car with parts that had to be hard to find and then making it a real quick ride.
I really didn't spot any Turbo Regal parts related to the 1984-1987s for sale. The closest I saw you can see in the top right photo, a late 1979?vintage front end, complete with the early-style turbo hood.
The real unique cars were set up inside. In these lower photos we show the most unique 1955 Chevrolet truck in the show. The lower right photo conveys why it's called the "Watermelon Truck." The air cleaner resembles an actual watermelon. It was made from cutting up two Freon bottles! This truck reminded me of what we did back in the 1970s with our 1947 Studebaker pickup. We had a large Pepsi carton replica made and we bought 6 of the huge blow-up Pepsi bottles and put them in the bed when we showed the truck.
URGENT REQUEST - WE NEED STOCK TURBO CORES -
Currently we have an urgent need for 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo cores. They must have the exhaust housing. We will allow $75 Letter of Credit for any cores you send in.
It's important you contact our office first, so we know to expect it - 215-766-1611 x 0
By providing cores, you are helping other owners restore their cars.
CHECK THIS CAR OUT - KIRBAN FIND -
Currently the 1937 Packard coupe is still for sale. We have heard from several customers and have sent them a bunch of photos on this pristine modified 1937 Packard coupe. (See 6-6-2012 Inner Circle for more details.) Email me direct - [email protected] - for photos of this car.
Also the 3,500-mile 1987 Grand National hardtop that I found for Mike O’Neil several years ago is also still available. (See 6-6-2012 Inner Circle for more details). Email me direct - [email protected] - for photos of this car.
PRICE REDUCTION -
Not often we can report of any price reductions but one we are working on is the 1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal with Floor Shift Theft Deterrent Lock-Out Plate. Our original Part #7429 has been discontinued. That price was $119.95.
Currently we have another source working on this part and expect to have it available in a few weeks and at a lower price!
USED REARVIEW MIRRORS FOR SALE -
Also, under our emailed Rare Parts, see Part #P-1764 the used rear view mirror with the dual map reading lamp option. We found another source for them and have been able to reduce the price on them as well. This is one of those later GM options that I believe came a long a few years later. It’s a nice upgrade to the interior and since it's a GM option, it looks factory. The new price is now just $24.95 each. If you are interested in purchasing this mirror, email - [email protected]

GM LICENSED -
REPRODUCTION “HARRISON” AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR DECAL
This is the decal on the air conditioner compressor for 1986-1987 Buick Regals. Unfortunately, most of the rebuilt AC compressors will not have this original-style decal on the unit.
This GM licensed reproduction air conditioner compressor decal measures 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" and is reproduced in the correct colors as the original decal - yellow, black and silver. Decal sticker is produced on the proper material to withstand engine heat.
The yellow section of the label is the correct yellow that we have found to be used throughout the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal models.
Photo A shows an original decal on a Turbo Buick.
Photo B shows an original decal on an original 3500-mile Grand National.
NOTE - We are told this decal is also correct for all other 1986-1987 G-Body cars, not just Buick.
NOTE - Several other reproductions exist for this decal, but the colors may not be correct. Our GM licensed source has reproduced these exactly like the original.
NOTE - After the words “CODE NO.,” our GM licensed source has left this area blank, since the 6th digit code that appears here would not be the same on every decal. That code represents the day, month, year and shift when the AC compressor was produced. Also, once the label is affixed correctly on the AC compressor, that portion of the label is not visible. The AC lines hide it completely.
Another great under-the-hood decal to restore the engine compartment.

POWER ANTENNA CABLE REPRODUCTION REPAIR KIT
This is a brand new power antenna cable reproduction repair kit. It is just the internal plastic cable. It will only work if the metal antenna mast is not damaged and the motor will not shut off unless it’s unplugged. If the motor works, and the mast is not bent in any way, the internal plastic cable is broken or damaged due to age.
This is a new reproduction of the plastic internal cable complete with installation directions. This kit is ONLY the internal plastic cable. Your entire mast assembly MUST be intact and NOT bent. Your power antenna motor MUST still be in good working order for your power antenna to work once you install this new reproduction internal plastic cable.
NOTE - Remember this is ONLY the internal plastic cable. The external metal mast and the power antenna motor on your car must be in good working order.
NOTE - We recommend you also purchase our Part #6976 - “1984-1987 Turbo Regal - Power Antenna Removal and Installation Guide” Book by Pete Serio.

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
UNIVERSAL TRANSMISSION FLYWHEEL COVER
This black plastic flywheel cover is a universal design that will fit virtually all the 350, 400, 700 4R and the 200 4R transmission, which is used in all the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals.
In some cases, the factory metal flywheel cover may be missing or dented, or severely rusted. At this point, we are not aware of any source for the original metal covers.
Because this is hard plastic, we only recommend it to be used on stock applications or where the transmission is not subject to extreme temperatures, such as in a race application. Before ordering, check the factory crossover pipe to be sure you have about a 1" clearance all around the existing flywheel cover.
This black, hard plastic, flywheel cover only weighs 3/4 of an ounce. The cover is designed to cover the transmission flywheel and it also cuts down on any engine noise. Since it’s plastic, it will never rust or dent.
NOTE - Since it is a universal fit flywheel cover, it can be used on virtually any 350, 400, or 700 4R transmission as well as the standard 200 4R transmission found in all the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].

IN CLOSING -
We seemed to be in the midst of a heat wave in our area. On the plus side, the lawn doesn’t need to be cut every week. Hope you had a safe 4th of July.

SADNESS STRIKES MAYBERRY, NORTH CAROLINA
Andy Griffith passed away on Tuesday, July 3rd. If you grew up during the 1960s, this popular TV show was part of your routine. Although the town is fictional, it represents a town many of us would love to live in.
