A FEW MORE USED AND NEW 1986 AND 1987 TURBO REGAL PARTS
We have put together a few more Package Deals featuring some hard-to-find items for the 1986 and 1987 Turbo Regals. This past Saturday we ventured out for the first time in months to one of the junkyards and found 2 of the rare third brake lights that were used in the Gbody cars in 1986 and 1987. This first design seems so primitive against the versions that GM and others used in the later years. These are very hard to find in good shape as heat and sun light take their toll on the housing and bulb socket.
PHOTO 1- The top left photo shows a good used powermaster reservoir cap with gasket, a factory powermaster hose line to the pump, a new rubber plug for the water pump nose, and a used brake switch. The top right photo shows a modified original Turbo Regal brake pedal with the proper pin welded in the correct position for vacuum brakes, with a new vacuum block with port, gasket and screws, and 10 vacuum block hoses.
The bottom left photo shows a refinished and painted grey 3rd brake light assembly (minus the base) with an original GM flip down stay down license plate bracket. The bottom right photo shows another refinished and painted grey 3rd brake light assembly (minus the base) with an original real nice under the hood light assembly.
2016 DODGE CHALLENGER HELLCAT - FOR SALE
I was at the local Dodge/Jeep dealership the other day and they had this mint 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat for sale. Car only had 4,000 miles on it. ‘It’s basically a brand new car that is 4 years old. Owner traded it in for some sort of Jeep. What caught my eye was the very unusual color combination Plum Crazy Pearlcoat against a tan leather interior. It has a flat black hood. Hemi motor was painted orange which is a nice touch to its history. Unless you saw this color combination in person you would not think they would possibly go together.
Somehow this color combination works. I am sure if you did some research you would probably discover that this color combination in 2016 on the Hellcat model was extremely rare. Most seem to be black on black or burgundy with a black interior.

MORE OF FRED BOATMAN’S CARTOONS FROM YEARS AGO -
Besides the roughly 30 different cartoons Fred did for our Inner Circle we had him do some special ones.

The cartoon to the right Fred did that we gave our son and his wife for some special occasion. It shows them and Devyn on their Cigarette boat.
THE OLDEST DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATRE IN THE U.S. -
This past weekend I went to this one junkyard that is about an hour away from us. About halfway there I always pass a sign for the Shankweiler Drive In Movie Theatre. I knew it was one of the oldest ones still in existence in the U.S. Turns out it is the oldest in the U.S. It was the second one ever built also. It opened on Tax Day April 15th back in 1934.
Drive Ins were huge in the 1950s and 1960s. I am not sure what killed most of them but the escalating value of the land some of them were built on was probably one reason for their demise. I know that is what killed several of the old junkyards in my immediate area. I remember one in a nearby town from my youth that a Target now occupies that ground space.
Ironically, in the last several months there has been a resurgence with the remaining drive in movie theatres that are still in operation. They provide the easiest method to show movies and maintain the guidelines of social distancing. Whereas an indoor movie theatre has several challenges to overcome before they are able to open.
PHOTO 4 - Here are two pictures I took of this landmark. I am sure the sound and video has been upgraded many times since its opening day on April 15th 1934. One can only imagine what cars made up that opening day showing.

HERE IS A NOVEL IDEA -
The above story got me thinking. Retirement is something that eventually each of us hopes to reach. One step prior to the Nursing Home. You read about all these retirement places in Florida for those that love golf or boating. Entire communities are built for those groups.
You never hear of one that was built specifically for the car or truck collector. Think about it. An entire community built for those of us that are into cars or trucks or bikes. Here are a few ideas. Pick a part of the country that is not extremely hot. Maybe in the Carolians. Make the minimum age requirement 55. Offer one story ranch style houses with 1 to 3 bay garages. Have several drive-in restaurants in the town. A pool hall, bowling alley, and a pinball arcade. Just outside of town is a ¼ mile drag strip. Maybe 2 junkyards with no vehicles newer than 20 years. Area for car shows.
A car museum where residents could rotate cars or trucks they restored to show others that reside in the same community. Imagine the perfect solution to having a good neighbor who shares the same interest! The association fees would cover all the outdoor upkeep such as lawn cutting etc. Time to let others cut the lawn and do the trimming.
I am amazed that nobody has thought of building such a town devoted to the car or truck collector. Clearly that would be a huge demand for such a place. Sure beats walking 18 rounds of golf!
AMAZING WHAT SOME PRICES OWNERS ARE SEEKING AND GETTING -
Recently on the internet I spotted a few things in the automotive world that in my opinion seem to be outrageous. An 8,000 miles original 1988 M3 BMW red with a tan interior sold for a quarter million dollars. An original Porsche dealer display sign that measures about 16 feet long is being advertised for $12,500. On a Craigslist I spotted a 1979 VW transporter Type 2 needing work for $17,000. A few weeks back a 20-year-old Honda Civic SI with 5,600 original miles sold for a cool 50 grand. The word bargain would hardly be a term associated with any of these prices!
Proof positive that original low mileage pristine examples no matter what the year or model can fetch some serious money. It also helps if the vehicle has a muscle heritage.

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal add $10. You would receive $160 Letter-of-Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $150 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. We urgently need these cores!
If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.
Our weekly Inner Circle reaches over 3,400 members every Wednesday direct to their inbox. The Inner Circle also appears every Wednesday on our website with the related photos. Your ad would be visible to both groups of readers. So, the exposure to your ad is well over 3,200 potential buyers.

This 1986 Grand National with the optional T-Top option only has 30,000 original miles. Options include power windows, tilt column, working power antenna, posi rear, and rear defroster. It has some areas of benign repainted and bumper fillers have been replaced. Factory chip guard is on the bottom of both sides. Car has a few tasteful upgrades including the H4 headlights, rare seat braces, connecting front brace and connecting brace pair, new body bushings. Car has been converted to vacuum brakes (has the rebuilt powermaster that goes with the car) and AC was converted to 134A.

The following information is for Joe Boyle’s 1987 Grand National that he is selling. He has owned this 1987 Grand National since 1988.
Here is a chance to own a very well cared for 1987 Grand National hardtop owned by the same owner since 1988. Joe has been a long time customer of ours and has brought this pride and joy to several of our Open House and reunion events. This is one of the very few Grand Nationals that the SPID label (trunk label) has been personally signed TWICE by Molly at two different Reunion events, including the last one he attended in 2007.
Joe Boyle bought this Grand National in July 1988. This car has been well maintained by Richard Clark of Burlington, NC. Car has been to several Kirban Open House events. It is basically stock and has all the brace kits installed, all new body bushings, and the window rattle kits installed by Pete Hoffman. It has recently been serviced by Richard Clark. Richard put a value of $33,000 on the car.
It has become a daily driver for a while now and Joe is looking to sell it to someone who will enjoy it as much as he has through the years. He has the original Window Sticker. 2016 DODGE CHALLENGER HELLCAT - FOR SALE
I was at the local Dodge/Jeep dealership the other day and they had this mint 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat for sale. Car only had 4,000 miles on it. ‘It’s basically a brand new car that is 4 years old. Owner traded it in for some sort of Jeep. What caught my eye was the very unusual color combination Plum Crazy Pearlcoat against a tan leather interior. It has a flat black hood. Hemi motor was painted orange which is a nice touch to its history. Unless you saw this color combination in person you would not think they would possibly go together.
Somehow this color combination works. I am sure if you did some research you would probably discover that this color combination in 2016 on the Hellcat model was extremely rare. Most seem to be black on black or burgundy with a black interior.

THE OLDEST DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATRE IN THE U.S. -
This past weekend I went to this one junkyard that is about an hour away from us. About halfway there I always pass a sign for the Shankweiler Drive In Movie Theatre. I knew it was one of the oldest ones still in existence in the U.S. Turns out it is the oldest in the U.S. It was the second one ever built also. It opened on Tax Day April 15th back in 1934.
Drive Ins were huge in the 1950s and 1960s. I am not sure what killed most of them but the escalating value of the land some of them were built on was probably one reason for their demise. I know that is what killed several of the old junkyards in my immediate area. I remember one in a nearby town from my youth that a Target now occupies that ground space.
Ironically, in the last several months there has been a resurgence with the remaining drive in movie theatres that are still in operation. They provide the easiest method to show movies and maintain the guidelines of social distancing. Whereas an indoor movie theatre has several challenges to overcome before they are able to open.
PHOTO 4 - Here are two pictures I took of this landmark. I am sure the sound and video has been upgraded many times since its opening day on April 15th 1934. One can only imagine what cars made up that opening day showing.

HERE IS A NOVEL IDEA -
The above story got me thinking. Retirement is something that eventually each of us hopes to reach. One step prior to the Nursing Home. You read about all these retirement places in Florida for those that love golf or boating. Entire communities are built for those groups.
You never hear of one that was built specifically for the car or truck collector. Think about it. An entire community built for those of us that are into cars or trucks or bikes. Here are a few ideas. Pick a part of the country that is not extremely hot. Maybe in the Carolians. Make the minimum age requirement 55. Offer one story ranch style houses with 1 to 3 bay garages. Have several drive-in restaurants in the town. A pool hall, bowling alley, and a pinball arcade. Just outside of town is a ¼ mile drag strip. Maybe 2 junkyards with no vehicles newer than 20 years. Area for car shows.
A car museum where residents could rotate cars or trucks they restored to show others that reside in the same community. Imagine the perfect solution to having a good neighbor who shares the same interest! The association fees would cover all the outdoor upkeep such as lawn cutting etc. Time to let others cut the lawn and do the trimming.
I am amazed that nobody has thought of building such a town devoted to the car or truck collector. Clearly that would be a huge demand for such a place. Sure beats walking 18 rounds of golf!
AMAZING WHAT SOME PRICES OWNERS ARE SEEKING AND GETTING -
Recently on the internet I spotted a few things in the automotive world that in my opinion seem to be outrageous. An 8,000 miles original 1988 M3 BMW red with a tan interior sold for a quarter million dollars. An original Porsche dealer display sign that measures about 16 feet long is being advertised for $12,500. On a Craigslist I spotted a 1979 VW transporter Type 2 needing work for $17,000. A few weeks back a 20-year-old Honda Civic SI with 5,600 original miles sold for a cool 50 grand. The word bargain would hardly be a term associated with any of these prices!
Proof positive that original low mileage pristine examples no matter what the year or model can fetch some serious money. It also helps if the vehicle has a muscle heritage.

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal add $10. You would receive $160 Letter-of-Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $150 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. We urgently need these cores!
If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

Good news - We now accept Classified Ads in our weekly Inner Circle emails. Over the years several customers have asked about placing an ad in our weekly Inner Circle.
Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.
Our weekly Inner Circle reaches over 3,400 members every Wednesday direct to their inbox. The Inner Circle also appears every Wednesday on our website with the related photos. Your ad would be visible to both groups of readers. So, the exposure to your ad is well over 3,200 potential buyers.

This 1986 Grand National with the optional T-Top option only has 30,000 original miles. Options include power windows, tilt column, working power antenna, posi rear, and rear defroster. It has some areas of benign repainted and bumper fillers have been replaced. Factory chip guard is on the bottom of both sides. Car has a few tasteful upgrades including the H4 headlights, rare seat braces, connecting front brace and connecting brace pair, new body bushings. Car has been converted to vacuum brakes (has the rebuilt powermaster that goes with the car) and AC was converted to 134A.

The following information is for Joe Boyle’s 1987 Grand National that he is selling. He has owned this 1987 Grand National since 1988.
Here is a chance to own a very well cared for 1987 Grand National hardtop owned by the same owner since 1988. Joe has been a long time customer of ours and has brought this pride and joy to several of our Open House and reunion events. This is one of the very few Grand Nationals that the SPID label (trunk label) has been personally signed TWICE by Molly at two different Reunion events, including the last one he attended in 2007.
Joe Boyle bought this Grand National in July 1988. This car has been well maintained by Richard Clark of Burlington, NC. Car has been to several Kirban Open House events. It is basically stock and has all the brace kits installed, all new body bushings, and the window rattle kits installed by Pete Hoffman. It has recently been serviced by Richard Clark. Richard put a value of $33,000 on the car.
It has become a daily driver for a while now and Joe is looking to sell it to someone who will enjoy it as much as he has through the years. He has the original Window Sticker.
