MINI CONTEST OPEN TO ONE AND ALL INNER CIRCLE READERS -
Absolutely no guess will be considered until after 3 pm eastern time this coming Wednesday 7-21-2021 so all our subscribers have an equal chance! You get only one guess. That one single guess must be emailed to me personally [email protected] If you submit more than one guess you will be disqualified. Do not email your guess anywhere else but to my email.
Here are the clues: Over 15 years ago we would buy a part from a customer that we then sold. It fits every 1984-1987 Turbo Regal and probably all the other G-body applications. We sold this as a pair. It was not a reproduction of an existing part. The pair sold for less than $50. What was the part? I just acquired a pair and plan to get them remade as it is something that is needed today.
Member one guess only and do not submit your guess until after 3 pm eastern time Wednesday 21st 2021. If you do submit more than one guess neither will NOT count!
The prize? The first two correct answers will get a pair of these once we get them made. Good luck players! I already have a local machine shop looking at this project that makes several of our products already. .
SLIP OVER GRAND NATIONAL BUCKET SEAT SLIP COVERS -
With the rarity of the original Pallex material it's important you make every effort to protect the seats from spills and sun damage. The pallex material in black and grey is quite costly to buy even if you can locate any of it. I have seen prices as much as $300 a yard for the grey or the black pallex. The costs have skyrocketed because the original company that produced it for Buick was Collins and Aikman and I believe they are no longer in business. Also even if you are lucky enough to find any of the original grey or black pallex material, how it has been stored for the last 35 years can determine the condition it is in.
We have found a suitable answer with a black and off grey slip on seat covers. Each set includes a cover for the base cushion and a slip over elastic style cover for the back cushion. No headrest cover is included. See the Rare Parts section as we have several on order. If the demand warrants it we will order more and post in the Rare Parts section. We have several sets currently on order. Besides protecting the Grand National seats from spills and stains it also keeps the sun rays from doing their damage.
PHOTO 1 - We show several views of these slip on seat covers. Photos were tough to take as this GNX we used to fit them is in a trailer at Darrell’s shop and it was hard to open the door to test fit them!
ULTRA RARE 1967 GTO ROYAL BOBCAT CONVERTIBLE -
Last week we touched briefly on this extremely rare and well optioned 1967 GTO convertible. The Carroll Street Auto company out of Manchester, NH contacted me as they recently acquired this pristine car. Among the pack of original documents they got with the car were 4 original letters that I had written the original GTO owner back in the winter of 1986 and early 1987. They wanted to know my connection to this car and if I remembered it. I said I was asking him to bring his GTO to my GTO Heaven Meet that following summer. I had big plans for this event as I wanted as many GTOs as possible that featured Hurst wheels. I had Paul Zazarine the editor of Car Review magazine coming from Florida. Several original Hurst employees including Bill Campbell the co-founder of Hurst would be attending. It was around this time that Hurst was sold to Mr. Gasket so most Hurst employees were losing their jobs. This event at our old house on Sugarbottom Road was a huge success. We had over 75 cars at our house in the middle of the week! Interestingly enough the owner of this 1967 GTO convertible was good friends with Ron who had recently obtained a GNX 547 which is well documented. In the one letter to Bob who owned the GTO I said talk to Ron and see if he would bring GNX 547. Ron did bring his GNX 547 that year. Also in attendance was a 1963 Max Wedge Mopar, a 427 AC Cobra, and an extremely rare 1969 GTO Judge Ram Air V! The Max Wedge had just 24,000 miles on it with the original window sticker. One can only guess the total value of just these special cars that were sitting on our front lawn that summer day!
Since that time reportedly this incredible 1967 GTO has changed hands 3 or 4 more times. Each caretaker has taken extremely great care of this car. In my opinion you would be hard pressed to find a better example and one that is as well optioned as this GTO is. Not to mention the stash of documents that each caretaker has carefully kept for the next caretaker. For example, having the letters I sent back in 1986 and 1987 back up the fact the car was pristine since I wanted it for our event. Actually it was one of just 7 with Hurst wheels at our event. You are just a caretaker with your car or truck during a certain time frame and your greatest wish is that the next owner(s) is just as careful with your car or truck as you were. Unfortunately, the numbers probably prove otherwise. Having owned a vast number of nice cars I know of several of mine that got wrecked including one that got wrecked the first week after I sold it.
PHOTO 2 - We show a picture of this unique 1967 GTO from the magazine Car Review that was published later by the editor Paul Zazarine. That photo was taken on our driveway! The other 2 photos are copies of 2 of the letters I wrote to Bob the owner of this 1967 GTO back in 1986-1987. He actually lived in western, Pennsylvania, near Ron that owned GNX 547. This GTO has a mere 36,036 miles on it and a price tag of $119,900. For more info contact Carroll Street Auto in Manchester, NH. Phone 603-627-5595. My guess is the car probably looks the same as it did on our lawn back in the summer of 1987 over 30 years ago.
TWO NEW PARTS ADDED TO OUR WEBSITE -
Years ago we used to sell a low restrictive catalytic converter for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. These cars have a unique exhaust format where the catalytic converter has a special 4 -bolt flange to mate up to the factory dual exhaust system. All the other G body cars use a different format. We now are bringing back the low restrictive stock replacement catalytic converter and also offer the 4-bolt flange for those of you that want to make a test pipe or if you have one of the other G body cars you need this flange to make it work with the Pypes dual exhaust system. The flange is quite costly since it is made in small numbers and is ¼ inch thick! It comes already welded on the catalytic converter we sell. This is less restrictive than the factory pancake style catalytic converter that came on the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals originally. Currently we have a few in stock. It's best to call the office if you want one as we have more getting made. Orders are filled in the order they are received.
PHOTO 3 - We show the new low restrictive catalytic converter. It weighs under 8 lbs and measures approximately 18 inches long. The diameter on the front opening is 2 ½ inches for the stock downpipe. The other photo shows the new 4 bolt flange which is what you would need if you own any other G body car and were upgrading to the Pypes dual exhaust system. The Pypes dual exhaust system only comes with the 4-bolt flange which would require a 4 bolt flange to mate up to it on a test pipe or the back end of a catalytic converter. The part number is #6567 for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal Aftermarket Low Restrictive Stock Catalytic Converter $339.95. The reproduction 4-bolt flange is #7947 $54.95. This 4-bolt flange would be needed if you are making a test pipe for off road use or had another G Body car and was using a Pypes dual exhaust system.
TWO MORE CARS FOR SALE -
First up is a 2002 Cadillac ETC Collector Series. They made approximately 1500 that last year for the Eldorado in 2002. Just over 1,000 were white and the rest were a special bright red. The cars also had a special two tone leather interior. These cars had unique wheels and a number plaque on the dash. They had probably almost every possible option including the 300hp Northstar engine. The ESC model only had 275hp. These are great over the road cars. Years ago I had 3 different ones with the ETC option being the top of the line. This car has had the same owner since 2004. We have every repair record. Over 40 receipts between work, inspections, and oil changes! Car was always garaged. In other words Kirban Quality from any angle. Car currently has 71,000 miles on it. The body is like new. Interior is extremely nice with just the driver's seat showing the typical wear issues that happens to leather. Back seat looks like it was never used. Non-smoke. Everything appears to work. I got all the glove box manuals, and the special Collector brochure. Tires have less than 7,000 miles on it. The car does have a high quality aftermarket installed ½ green cloth roof. Car has a matching light green hand painted matching pinstripe also. I have 2 keys and 2 remotes. Car runs out 100% and the AC blows cold! For more photos and price email me [email protected]
SPECIAL NOTE - Ironically we got both these cars within 2 miles of each other. Both cars came from owners that are collectors. The Caddy owner has a restored 1959 Corvette and the Mercedes owner has a restored W30 4-speed 442 1970 model. What was interesting is the Caddy owner showed me the house George Hurst lived in which was maybe 2 blocks from his house. A nice looking ranch style house with a custom built 4 car garage. The Caddy owner told me back in the 1960s he had a full size 1963 Galaxie 4-speed and George Hurst borrowed it to make a 4-speed shifter for the car. The prototype went in his car! I am sure George did this frequently besides borrowing cars from the nearby Dodge dealer in town. I know this to be true as I used to tow for the Dodge dealer in the nearby town and the service manager told me stories about Hurst and making shifters.
Another coincidence I had my buddy from the car lot go with me to get the Caddy. He is 80 years young same age as the seller of the Caddy. Turns out they were classmates in high school in 1958! They had not seen each other since 1958! Being 80 years each I asked them if Lincoln was a great President as claimed! They would go drag racing down on York Road. As you can imagine they had a lot of catching up to do! Small world! He had a 1957 dual quad Chevrolet.
The other car we just acquired is a 1996 Mercedes Benz SL 500. It has had the same owner since 2012. Again we got all the records. It also has 71,000 original miles. Non smoke and garaged. Has a car cover, and a factory hardtop. All new hydraulic pistons and related parts to the convertible top and the cloth top are brand new this past spring! Even the hardtop has a new headliner. Comes with the special rack to store the hardtop upright. The SL 500 is V8 powered and this car runs great! For photos and price email me directly [email protected] Pictures will be posted in next week's Inner Circle.
PHOTO 4 - We show three pictures of the Cadillac Collector Series. One photo shows the factory dash plaque stating the name and car number this Cadillac is. Similar to how Buick numbered the GNX. The last photo is of the house George Hurst owned in the 1960s and 1970s. Had I seen that someone was home I would have knocked on the door! Reminds me of years ago when my sister's son and family were visiting us from Florida. We went back to the house I grew up in Huntingdon Valley. We knocked on the door and the people let us walk through the house and I pointed out some of the memories I had of the inside of the house.

GOOD NEWS REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL REBUILT POWER STEERING PUMPS -
We still have a few left from this initial shipment from Cardone. We were just informed that Cardone had just over a dozen 1986-1987 Turbo Regal power steering pumps in their system. We purchased the entire stock so they are in the process of rebuilding them for us. These carry a one year warranty. This power steering pump is unique to the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. I also believe it's the same used in the limited production 1989 TurboTrans Ams. Nobody has reproduced this part yet that I am aware of.
THE RETURN OF REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL STOCK MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS

The price is $139.95 plus shipping. The only correct mass air flow sensor available to keep your car original!
UPDATED MORE GOOD NEWS -
Our part number #7768 the AC Delco AC accumulator evaporator receiver drier is in stock. We are, I believe, the only company that gets them powder coated as they come from ACDelco bare aluminum which in the Turbo Regals is not correct. Ours cost a bit more, but the appearance is closer to the original which is critical as this part is very visible under the hood. We currently have several in stock.
IN STOCK JUST ARRIVED OUR GREY AND BLACK 9 PIECE TRUNK KITS -
Be sure to contact our office. These have taken over 6 weeks to get. We only have a few of these 9 piece trunk kits. These are based on the original optional grey trunk kit that was standard in all the GNXs. This kit due to its design hides the spare tire and protects the quarter panel. Part #6510 is the grey 9 piece trunk kit and Part #7764 is the black 9 piece trunk kit. The price is $299.95 each. We got several of each currently in stock. Best to call our office 215-766-1611. I am sure when we go to order more it will take another 6 weeks or longer to get them in stock.

ONE WELL KNOWN LOCAL CRUISE EVENTS NEAR MY LOCATION IN JULY 2021 -
Next up on July Saturday July 31st 2021, is the annual Hatboro Moonlight Memories car show. This is the 28th year of this event. Hatboro is near where we used to live so I get to see a lot of old friends at this annual event. I was a judge for a few of these events. This show usually has several Turbo Regals and one or two GNXs in the mix. This event is huge. The event has no rain date. I guess they have a direct connection to God? Devyn is planning to attend at least one of these Cruise events.

CAR SHOW DATES FOR 2021 SEASON -
EAST COAST BUICK REGIONALS
Saturday September 11th 2021
This annual event is held at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland. There is no rain date. I have gone every year for the last 5 or 6 years. Always a good event. Plenty of room and plenty of cars. This event was not held in 2020 so a lot of pent up demand for the return. I will be donating items for this event and I will be there as a vendor. I don’t bring many items but I do a lot of buying. So if you plan to attend, see me if you bring items to sell. Our plan is to hand out 3 special custom awards for the 3 cars that impress me the most. More details later.
We will not have many items for sale at this event but instead be focused on accepting turbo cores, powermaster cores, and 1986-1987 original AC Delco mass air flow sensor cores. Course we are always on the lookout for NOS parts. Will have several blank checks with me!

KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
529 HAYCOCK RUN ROAD
KINTNERSVILLE, PA 18930
We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US –
1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
AFTERMARKET EPA CERTIFIED LOW RESTRICTIVE STOCK CATALYTIC CONVERTER
Many owners may want to replace the original pancake-style restrictive catalytic converter. This is a unique catalytic converter with the proper custom-made 4-bolt flange at the back end. The overall length is 18 inches. This is a direct bolt in replacement and similar to the one we offered over 20 years ago. This only works with the stock 2-1/2 inch diameter downpipe.
It will bolt up to the stock exhaust or to the Pypes Dual Exhaust system, Part #6996, we sell.
Original catalytic converters can easily become clogged over a long period of time. They are also a lot more restrictive due to its pancake style. Some states have very strict laws regarding emissions equipment, even on older cars.
This catalytic converter also can lower any drone sound the current mufflers may make.
We offer this low restrictive catalytic converter, which weighs less than 8 pounds and is EPA certified! It is not a universal converter, but one with the correct 4-bolt flange on the one end that will directly bolt into your Turbo Regal.
With the amount of heat turbo cars develop, the converter can begin to break down internally and clog the exhaust system.
The EPA rules dictate that replacement catalytic converters must go in the same location as the original converter. This unit bolts into that same area and has the same mounting flange.
This catalytic converter comes complete with the 4-bolt exhaust flange. This 4-bolt flange is very unique to these cars as no other G-body application has this style flange. We also offer the 4-bolt flange, Part #7947, by itself for those of you that may want to get a test pipe made for off road use only.
Another excellent replacement for any exhaust restoration.

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -
We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again.

IN CLOSING -
Remember the weekly Inner Circle always goes out at 3 pm eastern time so subscribers all have the same equal chance on the Rare Parts. All our parts generally are priced to sell and below what others offer. Also our used items are exactly as described. Emails are acknowledged in the order we receive them regardless of when I respond as I am not always by a computer and I only use a flip phone.
