DON GARLITS AUTOGRAPHED STRUT CAP WITH CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY -
FITS: ALL 2005-2020 CHARGER-CHRYSLER 300 & 2009-2020 CHALLENGER -

SALE PRICE; $39.95 each (Sale price thru end of September 2020) plus $12 shipping. Best deal if you got a friend with one of these Hemi powered cars buy 2 or more now at the special introductory price. To get this sale price you must call our office 215-766-1611 to order. Remember if you own a Hellcat be sure to tell Christina so we can send you the proper strut cap from the next batch. The next batch will be approximately two weeks later. I just sent the next batch to Don to autograph. If you got a friend with a Hemi to let him or her know. The first batch fits all the other Hemi cars as noted except the Hellcat models, and replaces the passenger side strut cap. Each strut cap comes with the certificate of authenticity as shown in Photo 1.

PHOTO 1 - We show both the certificate of authenticity and the actual autographed Hemi strut cap. We supply Don with a gold marker to autograph each strut cap. Several customers bought them last week and responded they love it! It is one of those unique items that once car shows start up again will attract more attention. These will not be on our website until the sale price ends at the end of this month. This is because I want to get the next batch autographed that will also fit the Hellcat models on the drivers side. This way all the future ones will be formatted for the drivers side strut. Again you must call Christina to order one. Makes a great gift if you have a friend or friends that have these Hemi powered cars.

1987 OLDSMOBILE 442 -

As many of our readers know besides selling several hundred Turbo Regals we also sold a few other cars of note. I just stumbled on a group of photos of the only one Oldsmobile 442 hardtop I sold. This was a very easy purchase and sale. By easy the car was at most 5 miles from my house. A buddy of mine was purchasing a GTO Judge if I recall and wanted to raise a few bucks quickly. He offered me his pristine 1987 Oldsmobile 442 that only had 12,500 miles on it. I can’t recall what I paid for it, but it was probably around 8 grand. This was back in 2000. It was the only 442 Oldsmobile I think I ever bought. This car came with a lot of documentation and brochures which made it a very nice deal. I liked it because of the color combo and the fact it was a hardtop.

While it's true the Oldsmobile 442 was nowhere near as quick as the Turbo Regals they did have an outstanding plush looking interior accented by a very attractive informative gauge cluster.

I sold it within 72 hours to a local person whose parents owned a Nissan dealership nearby. Years later I would buy a used Pontiac Grand Prix from that same dealership. I mentioned to the sales person about the connection I had with the owner's son. I was able to get a good deal on the used Pontiac Grand Prix!

PHOTO 4 - I show 4 photos of this mint original 1987 Oldsmobile 442. One photo shows all the brochures and the window sticker I also got with the car. This purchase holds the record as the closest car I ever bought to our old house!

1986-1987 TURBO REGAL AC DELCO WATER VALVE UPDATE -

As of this writing we have fewer than 6 left! To order you must call Christina at 215-766-1611 so she can reserve one for you. Our part #6594 and our current price for our remaining stock is $79.95 plus shipping. Every aftermarket version looks nothing like the factory AC Delco part. You are getting this word first as an Inner Circle Member. AC DELCO has discontinued this critical original part. Eventually I am sure one of the major suppliers will reproduce this critical part. Once gone barring a miracle I don’t see anymore turning up in any kind of quantity to buy.

1986-1987 TURBO REGAL POWER STEERING PUMP-

Unfortunately, we have had to discontinue this part. The rebuilt 1986-1987 Turbo Regal power steering pump #$7378. To my knowledge the only source for the rebuilt ones was Cardone, the supplier we use. Cardone has no inventory nor does any sources we regularly deal with.

MAKING A COME BACK -

One of the major Corvette companies we sell to will be offering the Kirban Kwik 6-Speed Shifters. We made versions for the C5 and C6 over a ten years ago. Even to this day Christina still gets calls for them. The other week I sold a part on ebay and the buyer wanted to know if I was the same Kirban that made the Corvette shifters as his Dad has one in his Corvette. We also had them made for the Fox body Mustangs and the F body Camaros and Firebirds. These were all made in the USA by the same source that makes our billet adjustable fuel regulators.

TRUCK AND TRAILER OF CHOICE I USED -

When I first started to buy used 1986 and 1987 Turbo Regals I would simply take a friend with me to pick them up. As trips increased I thought it would be wise to invest in a truck and a light weight open trailer. I preferred an open trailer as it would be easy to quickly strap down the cars and check them when I would make stops for fuel or food. I also wanted to buy a trailer where the car doors would clear the fenders when the car was on the trailer.

The first thing I would do is replace the off brand trailer tires with Goodyear tires and balance them as well. I then bought the GM hooks that would fit in the slots in the front frames of the G body cars. The first truck I bought was a V8 Dodge Dakota. This truck served me well once I had the transmission rebuilt. Unfortunately an accident in Ohio ended the use of this truck soon after.

I then went with a GM pick up. I chose a used 2500 HD with the 8.1 gas engine and allison transmission. This combo with a light weight trailer was a winning combination and once that initial truck and trailer rusted badly I replaced both of them. I bought a second trailer identical to the first one. For the truck replacement I found a GMC 2500HD with the 8.1 gas engine and allison transmission. It was even the same color!

MEMORIES FROM MY PAST -

With over 325 Turbo Regals bought there were a few instances where I either made a wasted trip and turned the car down or got burned on a few. Everyone in the used car business takes a hit at some point. The big concern is of course to limit the number of times you take a hit on a bad purchase.

I got burned on two that turned out to have bad motors. In another case because the odometer only reads 5 digits the car had over 100,000 miles on it and I bought it from a dealer who signed off stating what the mileage showing was. Car was extremely nice. I did not discover this, but my buyer did. He discovered some paperwork in the car indicating the mileage. I told him I would take the car back. He did not want to return it because it was so nice, but we agreed on a partial refund.

Here is one example where I spotted the issues before I handed over the check to pay for the car. The car was in Maryland, which is a short trip. The Grand National had a nice fresh repaint. I never carried a checklist on what to check, but simply tried all the options and would take the car for a quick spin around the block. Always by myself as the buyers were never worried I was going to steal their car.

This particular Grand National when I would make a right turn I could hear the front wheel rub the inner fender. Making left turns no noise. Not a big deal at first. I always made it where I would not turn over the check to pay for the cars until the car was up on my trailer and secured.

This would provide me another angle to view the car from especially the undercarriage etc. I got the Grand National up on my trailer. I grab my special GM hooks to secure the front end to the straps. The front frame on this Grand National, lacks the slotted holes for my special GM hooks! This made no sense to me.

I then stood back and with the car on the trailer the wheels and the front fenders were closer to eye level. Using my fingers as a ruler the gap between the one front tire and lip of the fender was quite a bit different from the gap on the other side. At this point I tell the owner I am not buying his car.

I have no idea if he knew the issue or not so I said this car is not sitting on the frame straight and I said I am not even 100% sure it has the correct frame under the front. He claimed he was unaware of any issues. I said if he was to drive this car down the street and someone followed him they would clearly see this car probably does not track straight.

Needless to say I did not buy the car. Had I bought the car I could not play dumb and deny not knowing about the possible alignment and frame issues. It was easier to chalk it up to a wasted trip. Had I not had my trailer, I may not have picked up on the wheel to fender distance and probably not the missing slots in the frame. Granted most buyers would spend a lot more time looking at a possible purchase than I did. Usually most of the deals I did I was back on the road within an hour. If something did not seem right, then I would spend more time looking over the car. My safety valve was I never handed the check over until the car was securely on my trailer. All told for buying over 300 plus Turbo Regals the few questionable cars were a very small percentage.

1987 GRAND NATIONAL T-TOPS WITH 7,700 ACTUAL MILES FOR SALE -

We got a substantial deposit on the car two days ago. The buyer will be sending an enclosed transport company to get it. Car will be going to the Chicago area to a customer of ours that has several of these cars.

URGENT REQUEST -

We need good used 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering wheel cores! To see if your core is acceptable email me [email protected] a photo prior to sending it for $100 credit. Help us help others restore their cars. We have an urgent need for good steering wheel cores.

WORKING ON A FEW IDEAS UPDATE -

I just got a price on the one product. This is a product we used to sell in the early 1990s. We plan to bring it back. It fits virtually every 1984-1987 Turbo Regal. I currently have this one product getting made by a local company. We expect to have this part in about 3-4 weeks time.

CASTLE PERFORMANCE OPEN HOUSE -
October 1st - 4th, 2020
9000 Ogden Avenue, Brookfield, IL 60513
Register now. Call 708-854-6060 Food provided Thursday through Saturday. Including a pig roast on Saturday. Vendors set up every day selling parts. Car Show is Saturday and Sunday its race day at the local track! Four days of activities! Paul has asked us to provide him with 2 M&M contests.

I sent Paul last week 2 different M&M contests with a prize for the winner. In case of tie I think he said that the second person would get to make the next 12 monthly mortgage payments on his building.

With Castle Performance having a 4 day event I told him having done many Reunion and Open House events it's critical to keep participants engaged over the 4 day period. Here are some of the ideas I sent him.

One contest is to pick 5 or more Turbo Regals at random and place a white poster board under the engine and for a set period of time to see which car leaves the smallest oil stain and which car leaves the biggest oil stain.

Have each participant open their hood. See how many owners have the hood struts installed backwards. I would usually find 1-2 owners that did this at various car shows. Seems hard to do when all you have to do is look at the opposite side when replacing the one side.

Find a Turbo Regal that has the jack and spare in the trunk the proper way. Have the owner remove it and see what contestants can reinstall it correctly and quickest!

Turbo Regals with the powermaster unit see which one has the fluid that closest resembles the color of Pepsi or Coca-cola. They would win the prize for the dirtiest brake fluid. Also conduct a contest to see which powermaster has the freshest brake fluid in it.

Locate a Turbo Regal that still has the original plain black brake bowl and seek out a volunteer to stand in front of the car as they do brake tests! This may be hard to get any participants to do! You might have to get a stranger off the street for this test.

Everyone is always concerned who has the quickest Turbo Regal which can be determined Sunday at the race track. Conduct one to see who has the slowest driver's side power window.

Another contest would be to take a solo cup and place a few ounces of water on it. Set it on the upper plenum of any 1986 or 1987 Turbo Regal and have the participant start their car to see which car idles the longest before the cup falls off the plenum. No two Turbo Regals ever seem to idle the same.

Have everyone open their hood and see which car has the biggest hole in the hood pad due to the clamps on the up pipe being not aligned properly!

Award the rarest 1986 T-Type that shows up. One car that would take this prize is if someone shows up with either the tan or grey leather seats. Very very few were produced in 1986.

For a 1987 Turbo-T winner see if someone shows up with a black Turbo-T with the black out package. Buick only produced them for a short time in the Fall because of the WE4. Should none show up a sage green or tan original exterior paint would take the prize.

For a Grand National winner see if someone shows up with one that lacks tilt column, has crank windows, and just the am/fm radio no cassette. Less options translates into less issues.

The participants that come Thursday have them write down their guess how many Turbo Regals will show up Friday with a busted power antenna.

See if any two Turbo Regals have the jacking directions decal in the same identical spot.

This is just a few ideas for entertainment and poking fun at a car we all love even if most of your time is spent working on them.

I have forwarded this list of ideas to Paul Castle; he may just do a few of these contests so be prepared.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US –

1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
SCANMASTER STEERING COLUMN BRACKET

Here is a simple way to mount the Scanmaster, part #6783, so it is in your direct sight.

The bracket attaches by velcro, which comes with it.

We used to sell a similar steering column bracket years ago until our source stopped making them.

We now have a new supplier who makes it in a high-quality acrylic plastic. It is then painted in the Turbo Regal grey, so it will match most Turbo Regal steering columns.

An excellent way to mount a Scanmaster.

7915 - 1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal - Scanmaster Steering Column Bracket - $34.95

1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
REPRODUCTION VACUUM BRAKE PEDAL

We now offer this reproduction vacuum brake pedal. The difference between the vacuum brake pedal and a Turbo Regal pedal is the location of the pin that the rod goes to that comes through the firewall. The vacuum brake pedal makes the installation easier. Without the vacuum brake pedal, you would need to weld a new pin in a different location on the original Turbo Regal brake pedal.

Finding a good used vacuum brake pedal has become more difficult as time passes. Because many Turbo Regal owners are converting to vacuum brakes, the demand has been heavy.

This reproduction pedal has solved that issue of using a 30-plus-year-old rusted vacuum brake pedal.

NOTE - You need to re-use the original bolt and bushings to secure the pedal to the bracket under the dash. The pedal is bare metal and will require painting.

These lines are stainless steel and made by the same company where we buy our brake and fuel line kits. The quality is excellent.

Kit consists of the 4 lines as pictured.

These are manufactured in the USA using the best materials.

The same source that makes our translator bracket has made this one-piece aluminum 1/8" gauge aluminum bracket for us.

It is compatible with #7607 Dual Fan Conversion Kit and Custom-made Plug-and-Play Harness and #7608 Dual Fan Only we sell.

This bracket requires no holes to be drilled in the core support or the dual fan kit.

The end result is the dual fan setup will sit flush against the radiator. The bracket secures the dual fan at the bottom of the core support. It is barely visible.

Each bracket comes with detailed directions. You do have to trim all 4 mounting tabs on the dual fan unit.

NOTE - You may also be interested in these related parts - #7607 Dual Fan Conversion Kit and Custom-made Plug-and-Play Harness, #7608 Dual Fan Only, and #7609 Custom-made Plug-and-Play Harness Only (for Intrepid Dual Fan).

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.

When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.

Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

ABOUT OUR EMAILS -

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
