This week's posting of rear parts is near the end of the stash that I obtained a few weeks ago from the customer who passed away and had kept all these GM parts neatly tucked away in a bedroom of his parents house.
PHOTO 1 - The photo to the left shows 3 original Buick “Know How” booklets. One covers the Air Conditioning Compressors, another covers Port Fuel Injection and the last booklet covers Paint Etching. The AC booklet is dated 1982. The Port Injection booklet is dated 1983. The Paint etching booklet has no date inside. I bought all 3 many years ago at the same time. The photo to the right shows brand new in the GM box the original anti rattle foam strips for T-Tops from GM. Both these items are for sale under the Rare Parts section.
PHOTO 2 - The photo to the left shows a set of brand new aftermarket slip on Grand National seat covers. I have no idea what company made these years ago. We used to sell a similar set at one time. The photo to the right shows still factory sealed in the GM wrapper #20217186 and #20217187 T-Top beam seals. Again both items are listed for sale under the Rare Parts section.
BMW X3 2008 SPORT PACKAGE OPTIONAL 19 INCH WHEELS -
We recently sold the 2008 X3 BMW. The seller we got the car from called me the other day and said he had the Sport package wheels from that car that he had removed several years ago. The buyer of the X3 from us was not interested in the 19inch sport wheels so we now have them for sale.

FOUR CARS HEADING TO THE MIDWEST -
The dealer in the midwest has worked out a deal where he gets a good price as long as he has 4 cars to haul from my location to the midwest. We had four cars ready. Since the hauler was a 18 wheeler I had to get all 4 cars down to the 611 Auto Sales lot on Route 611 in Ottsville as he would never have gotten his rig down my street. Reminded me of the old days when more than a few Turbo Regals got picked up at our Sugarbottom Road address.
Of course each of the 4 vehicles started with no problem except the most expensive one, the rare 1987 Turbo T. That car we had to jump. I am already on the hunt for the next 4 cars for this dealer. The use car market is going crazy right now since certain parts are hard to get to keep building new vehicles.
Three of these cars are currently on Car Guru in the Chicago region. One is my personal 2010 Mercury Mariner SUV. All three vehicles are PA inspected. Mariner has proof it was one of my personal vehicles. The Lucerne is an incredible road car! The 4th vehicle is the very rare Turbo T Limited that is not for sale.
PHOTO 4 - We show the 3 cars I go to the lot prior to night fall. Last, but not least the Turbo T Limited got loaded as the last car on the bottom. The Limited we had to jump start at my house because it was dark by the time I got it to the car lot to get loaded on the transport. This hauler carries 9 cars. Volvo tractor with almost 500,000 miles on it. I told the driver if the Regal falls off you better stop and reload it. Car may be the oldest of the bunch but its value far exceeds the other 3 on the truck!
YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY -
A more accurate saying would be you learn something everyday and at the same time you forget something every day the older you get! I was not familiar with the background surrounding the Buick port holes in the front fenders. This Lucerne was a V8 car and had four port holes. I learned that the 6 cylinder Buick cars only had three portholes for a 6 cylinder. A clever gimmick that I never realized until now. Whoever buys that car will be quite pleased. The funny part was the couple who had power of attorney since the woman was 88 years old actually sold it to me because she did not like the other potential buyer even though he offered more money for the car!
GOOD NEWS REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL REBUILT POWER STEERING PUMPS -
We were just informed that Cardone had just over a dozen 1986-1987 Turbo Regal power steering pumps in their system. We purchased the entire stock so they are in the process of rebuilding them for us. These carry a one year warranty. This power steering pump is unique to the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. I also believe it's the same used in the limited production 1989 TurboTrans Ams. Nobody has reproduced this part yet that I am aware of. I doubt any other vendor even has any on their shelf. Our part number is 7378. The price is $139.95 plus shipping. To be assured of getting one of these limited ones we have coming in you must call our office 215-766-1611 and have Christina put your name on one. This is a part that is worth having a spare on as the value can only increase in years to come.
I am amazed that Cardone turned more of these up due to the aging of these cars. Also grateful that I can buy direct from such a huge company. These units do not have the pulley.
THE RETURN OF REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL STOCK MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS

MORE GOOD NEWS -
As I prepared this issue of the Inner Circle I found a company that has reproduced exactly the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal mass air flow sensor minus the AC Delco logo. Otherwise it is exact even the power plug is in the proper location and the black plastic is the same shade of semi black color. Once I get one of them tested we will be marketing them. Watch for updates. Hopefully have some good news on this product possibly next week.

GNX #480 SELLS FOR RECORD AMOUNT $275,000 -
I think this was the grand total with commission figured in. The values keep climbing and you can see how it will have a trickle down effect to the other 1986-1987 Turbo Regal values. Also to a lesser degree to the other G body examples such as the Oldsmobile 442 and the Monte Carlo SS models. I think about the 12 GNXs I have sold over the years and what their value would be today had I simply tucked them away and borrowed against them. I had somewhat of an inkling years ago when I leased our first 1987 Grand National for the typical 3 years. The pay off town the Grand National outrite was I believe $9,000. I paid that amount and resold the car I believe for $14,000. So even back in the early 1990s the actual value was creeping up above the normal depreciation numbers. No one can accurately predict when these cars reach their peak. As for the GNX many of them are low mileage so it is amazing that they fetch such lofty numbers.
On the plus side it helps all us vendors that have invested money into reproducing parts that owners that are restoring them can see the values making their project worthwhile. It sure beats restoring a Yugo. I often refer to the lowly Yugo whose only claim to fame is it was offered by certain GM dealerships and it was introduced right around the same time the Turbo Regal was making waves for its sneaky quick acceleration that caught Corvette by surprise.
Course I still can’t comprehend how the VW window vans with the split windshield can garner 6 digits no matter how good the restoration was!
DRY ICE METHOD TO CLEANING UP THE UNDERSIDE OF CARS FOR RESTORATION -
We want to hear from you if you ever had this done. I believe this is a fairly new process that only recently has been applied to preparing the undercarriage of cars target restored. It's a quick and effective method to remove dirt grime undercoating and not causing any damage to the car. Also no smell to this process and I assume it simply melts away since it uses dry ice as part of the formula. I was at a show the other week and was talking to a 1970 GTO owner and discovered he worked at a restoration shop near me and told me to look under the car. This car, being a 1970 was 50plus years old. The underside was amazing. They also did the firewall leaving the factory semi black firewall intact like it was like new. The process had also removed all the sloppy glue gunk around the heater box while doing no harm to the heater box. Again I have no idea how it works but I have been in touch with the local company who has expanded in recent years into the car market. He was mainly doing food equipment which has to be kept spotless.

The price tag can run several hundred dollars an hour, but the results are far better than working with a smelly solvet and trying to get into every little crevice. I saw pictures of the results cleaning up the back of alloy wheels making them like new!
TWO WELL KNOWN LOCAL CRUISE EVENTS NEAR MY LOCATION IN JULY 2021 -
First up is the Doylestown At Dusk Car Show. The date is Saturday July 17th 5 pm until 10 pm. Rain date is Sunday July 18th 2021. This event draws some impressive variety of cars, even several Ferraris. They close down several main streets in Doylestown. I go as a spectator every year.
Next up on July Saturday July 31st 2021, is the annual Hatboro Moonlight Memories car show. This is the 28th year of this event. Hatboro is near where we used to live so I get to see a lot of old friends at this annual event. I was a judge for a few of these events. This show usually has several Turbo Regals and one or two GNXs in the mix. This event is huge. The event has no rain date. I guess they have a direct connection to God? Devyn is planning to attend at least one of these Cruise events.
COLLECTOR CAR COLLECTION UPDATE - THREE TURBO REGALS AND ONE SYCLONE
All 4 are still available. The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased were brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. The Syclone he also purchased was brand new. These vehicles are located in Tennessee. The light blue 1986 T-Type is $25,000 OBO. The 1987 Grand National has the rare factory astro roof and has been repainted Corvette red. CAR SHOW DATES FOR 2021 SEASON -
EAST COAST BUICK REGIONALS
Saturday September 11th 2021
This annual event is held at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland. There is no rain date. I have gone every year for the last 5 or 6 years. Always a good event. Plenty of room and plenty of cars. This event was not held in 2020 so a lot of pent up demand for the return. I will be donating items for this event and I will be there as a vendor. I don’t bring many items but I do a lot of buying. So if you plan to attend, see me if you bring items to sell. Our plan is to hand out 3 special custom awards for the 3 cars that impress me the most. More details later.
We will not have many items for sale at this event but instead be focused on accepting turbo cores, powermaster cores, and 1986-1987 original AC Delco mass air flow sensor cores. Course we are always on the lookout for NOS parts. Will have several blank checks with me!

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

CORES NEEDED - URGENT REQUEST –
Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal, add $10. You would receive a $160 Letter of Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.
MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal sensors. They can not be cracked or broken. Each acceptable unit is worth a letter of credit of $40 each. We need cores now!

Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

DUAL GAUGE HOLDER FOR T-TOPS MODELS
This dual gauge holder replaces the factory front center T-trim panel on the factory T-Tops.
The same 4 screws that hold the factory T-trim panel in place is used to secure this dual gauge holder. This plastic panel is already pre-painted grey to match the interiors of the Grand Nationals.

We recently sold the 2008 X3 BMW. The seller we got the car from called me the other day and said he had the Sport package wheels from that car that he had removed several years ago. The buyer of the X3 from us was not interested in the 19inch sport wheels so we now have them for sale.

FOUR CARS HEADING TO THE MIDWEST -
The dealer in the midwest has worked out a deal where he gets a good price as long as he has 4 cars to haul from my location to the midwest. We had four cars ready. Since the hauler was a 18 wheeler I had to get all 4 cars down to the 611 Auto Sales lot on Route 611 in Ottsville as he would never have gotten his rig down my street. Reminded me of the old days when more than a few Turbo Regals got picked up at our Sugarbottom Road address.
Of course each of the 4 vehicles started with no problem except the most expensive one, the rare 1987 Turbo T. That car we had to jump. I am already on the hunt for the next 4 cars for this dealer. The use car market is going crazy right now since certain parts are hard to get to keep building new vehicles.
Three of these cars are currently on Car Guru in the Chicago region. One is my personal 2010 Mercury Mariner SUV. All three vehicles are PA inspected. Mariner has proof it was one of my personal vehicles. The Lucerne is an incredible road car! The 4th vehicle is the very rare Turbo T Limited that is not for sale.
PHOTO 4 - We show the 3 cars I go to the lot prior to night fall. Last, but not least the Turbo T Limited got loaded as the last car on the bottom. The Limited we had to jump start at my house because it was dark by the time I got it to the car lot to get loaded on the transport. This hauler carries 9 cars. Volvo tractor with almost 500,000 miles on it. I told the driver if the Regal falls off you better stop and reload it. Car may be the oldest of the bunch but its value far exceeds the other 3 on the truck!
YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY -
A more accurate saying would be you learn something everyday and at the same time you forget something every day the older you get! I was not familiar with the background surrounding the Buick port holes in the front fenders. This Lucerne was a V8 car and had four port holes. I learned that the 6 cylinder Buick cars only had three portholes for a 6 cylinder. A clever gimmick that I never realized until now. Whoever buys that car will be quite pleased. The funny part was the couple who had power of attorney since the woman was 88 years old actually sold it to me because she did not like the other potential buyer even though he offered more money for the car!
GOOD NEWS REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL REBUILT POWER STEERING PUMPS -
We were just informed that Cardone had just over a dozen 1986-1987 Turbo Regal power steering pumps in their system. We purchased the entire stock so they are in the process of rebuilding them for us. These carry a one year warranty. This power steering pump is unique to the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. I also believe it's the same used in the limited production 1989 TurboTrans Ams. Nobody has reproduced this part yet that I am aware of. I doubt any other vendor even has any on their shelf. Our part number is 7378. The price is $139.95 plus shipping. To be assured of getting one of these limited ones we have coming in you must call our office 215-766-1611 and have Christina put your name on one. This is a part that is worth having a spare on as the value can only increase in years to come.
I am amazed that Cardone turned more of these up due to the aging of these cars. Also grateful that I can buy direct from such a huge company. These units do not have the pulley.

As I prepared this issue of the Inner Circle I found a company that has reproduced exactly the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal mass air flow sensor minus the AC Delco logo. Otherwise it is exact even the power plug is in the proper location and the black plastic is the same shade of semi black color. Once I get one of them tested we will be marketing them. Watch for updates. Hopefully have some good news on this product possibly next week.

GNX #480 SELLS FOR RECORD AMOUNT $275,000 -
I think this was the grand total with commission figured in. The values keep climbing and you can see how it will have a trickle down effect to the other 1986-1987 Turbo Regal values. Also to a lesser degree to the other G body examples such as the Oldsmobile 442 and the Monte Carlo SS models. I think about the 12 GNXs I have sold over the years and what their value would be today had I simply tucked them away and borrowed against them. I had somewhat of an inkling years ago when I leased our first 1987 Grand National for the typical 3 years. The pay off town the Grand National outrite was I believe $9,000. I paid that amount and resold the car I believe for $14,000. So even back in the early 1990s the actual value was creeping up above the normal depreciation numbers. No one can accurately predict when these cars reach their peak. As for the GNX many of them are low mileage so it is amazing that they fetch such lofty numbers.
On the plus side it helps all us vendors that have invested money into reproducing parts that owners that are restoring them can see the values making their project worthwhile. It sure beats restoring a Yugo. I often refer to the lowly Yugo whose only claim to fame is it was offered by certain GM dealerships and it was introduced right around the same time the Turbo Regal was making waves for its sneaky quick acceleration that caught Corvette by surprise.
Course I still can’t comprehend how the VW window vans with the split windshield can garner 6 digits no matter how good the restoration was!
DRY ICE METHOD TO CLEANING UP THE UNDERSIDE OF CARS FOR RESTORATION -
We want to hear from you if you ever had this done. I believe this is a fairly new process that only recently has been applied to preparing the undercarriage of cars target restored. It's a quick and effective method to remove dirt grime undercoating and not causing any damage to the car. Also no smell to this process and I assume it simply melts away since it uses dry ice as part of the formula. I was at a show the other week and was talking to a 1970 GTO owner and discovered he worked at a restoration shop near me and told me to look under the car. This car, being a 1970 was 50plus years old. The underside was amazing. They also did the firewall leaving the factory semi black firewall intact like it was like new. The process had also removed all the sloppy glue gunk around the heater box while doing no harm to the heater box. Again I have no idea how it works but I have been in touch with the local company who has expanded in recent years into the car market. He was mainly doing food equipment which has to be kept spotless.

The price tag can run several hundred dollars an hour, but the results are far better than working with a smelly solvet and trying to get into every little crevice. I saw pictures of the results cleaning up the back of alloy wheels making them like new!
TWO WELL KNOWN LOCAL CRUISE EVENTS NEAR MY LOCATION IN JULY 2021 -
First up is the Doylestown At Dusk Car Show. The date is Saturday July 17th 5 pm until 10 pm. Rain date is Sunday July 18th 2021. This event draws some impressive variety of cars, even several Ferraris. They close down several main streets in Doylestown. I go as a spectator every year.
Next up on July Saturday July 31st 2021, is the annual Hatboro Moonlight Memories car show. This is the 28th year of this event. Hatboro is near where we used to live so I get to see a lot of old friends at this annual event. I was a judge for a few of these events. This show usually has several Turbo Regals and one or two GNXs in the mix. This event is huge. The event has no rain date. I guess they have a direct connection to God? Devyn is planning to attend at least one of these Cruise events.

All 4 are still available. The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased were brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. The Syclone he also purchased was brand new. These vehicles are located in Tennessee. The light blue 1986 T-Type is $25,000 OBO. The 1987 Grand National has the rare factory astro roof and has been repainted Corvette red. EAST COAST BUICK REGIONALS
Saturday September 11th 2021
This annual event is held at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland. There is no rain date. I have gone every year for the last 5 or 6 years. Always a good event. Plenty of room and plenty of cars. This event was not held in 2020 so a lot of pent up demand for the return. I will be donating items for this event and I will be there as a vendor. I don’t bring many items but I do a lot of buying. So if you plan to attend, see me if you bring items to sell. Our plan is to hand out 3 special custom awards for the 3 cars that impress me the most. More details later.
We will not have many items for sale at this event but instead be focused on accepting turbo cores, powermaster cores, and 1986-1987 original AC Delco mass air flow sensor cores. Course we are always on the lookout for NOS parts. Will have several blank checks with me!

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal, add $10. You would receive a $160 Letter of Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.
MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal sensors. They can not be cracked or broken. Each acceptable unit is worth a letter of credit of $40 each. We need cores now!
If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

DUAL GAUGE HOLDER FOR T-TOPS MODELS
This dual gauge holder replaces the factory front center T-trim panel on the factory T-Tops.
The same 4 screws that hold the factory T-trim panel in place is used to secure this dual gauge holder. This plastic panel is already pre-painted grey to match the interiors of the Grand Nationals.
