GNX - 2 FOOT x 4 FOOT VINYL BANNER - NOW AVAILABLE -
Our source that has the license agreements with GM for Buick-Oldsmobile-Pontiac vinyl banners was able to get the GNX banner approved. See New Parts section for more details and link to our website.
The other Turbo Regal designs that we have given him are currently under review by GM. The GM license agreements have recently had changes done to their approval system, which has caused delays on any new products submitted to GM to be licensed. This GM license process moves very slowly. We are confident that soon all the Turbo Regal designs we have submitted should be approved.
Many of the designs in the works have never been displayed on a vinyl banner before. In some cases, the new Turbo Regal banners will be 2 foot by 3 foot while other designs work better in the 2 foot x 4 foot format.
We have several GTO banner designs that hopefully will be approved as well.
PHOTO 1 - We show the new approximately 2 foot x 4 foot GNX banner. The price is $42.95 each plus shipping. See the New Parts section for the link to our website. This is GM licensed.
THE POWERMASTER BRAKE SYSTEM -
Years ago, I had a new powermaster unit assembled for display purposes that clearly shows how a factory original unit should look.
Today it’s basically impossible to duplicate a powermaster unit to make it look like a factory brand new unit with the black brake switch instead of the replacement grey brake switch.
That is probably the one item that would be most difficult to find to duplicate a factory original Turbo Regal. Not to mention the risk involved if you were to drive a Turbo Regal that still had the black brake switch on the unit. I would not trust that brake system for a minute!
Most of you know that over the years GM had two different brake accumulator bowls. The original was all black with the nut inward. The replacement brake accumulator bowl had the yellow silk screen wording around the outer edge and the nut was on the outer part of the brake accumulator bowl. The nut was inward and the brake bowl was about 15% larger in diameter on the Cardone brake accumulator bowl. From what I understand, the brake accumulator bowl can’t be rebuilt.
Besides the various brake switches and brake accumulators, over the years there is a total of 3 different reservoirs that are possible to see on a Turbo Regal powermaster.
A narrow version (which I believe is the early one,) a slanted version (which I believe came out of certain model GM station wagons,) and the one that is correct for the Turbo Regal (it’s the most common, and it is not slanted and it doesn’t have a narrow reservoir.)
That is basically my extent of knowledge concerning the problematic powermaster brake system. Add 30 years to the mix and it becomes one of the top problems related to the popular 1986-1987 Turbo Regals, besides the high failure rate of power antennas. That is another topic!
PHOTO 2 - We show different photos of this new original powermaster brake unit that we had made into a display several years ago. NOTE - The molded hose to the reservoir from the motor and the color of the electric motor. Notice how nice the black metal brackets are that secure the motor to the master cylinder. Most brackets turn to rust due to fluid leakage over the years. This powermaster unit has the correct brake reservoir on it as well as the original solid black brake accumulator and the rare black brake switch.
PHOTO 3 - We show a display I had made several years ago of the 3 possible brake reservoirs that can be found on a powermaster brake unit. The one on the far left is the narrow format. The one in the middle is the slanted version, which you can see does not hold as much brake fluid as the correct one does. The correct reservoir is on the far right in the photo.
PHOTO 4 - We show another display we had made several years ago that features both GM-style brake bowls. The one on the left is the original, which you seldom see today. The one on the right is the replacement GM brake accumulator bowl. This brake accumulator bowl is slightly larger in size. In front of the two brake accumulator bowls are the black GE brake switch on the left and the GE replacement grey brake switch on the right.
Recognizing the various issues with the powermaster brake units is the reason we offer various alternatives for brake systems. We offer two different vacuum brake systems and two different hydroboost formats, besides offering a rebuilt powermaster unit.
We also offer various parts for the powermaster brake unit, such as o-rings, brake switches, brake accumulators, and replacement reservoirs.
When we sold GTO parts, I can’t recall ever offering any brake options as they never had the brake problems that constantly plague the Turbo Regals.

CLASSIC PONTIAC HALL OF FAME -
Several important people in the Pontiac world recently created a Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame. This is the first year for nominees to get accepted to the Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame. The initial voting list had just over 200 names on it for consideration, both living and those that have died. My name was one of the initial 200 in consideration.
The list was then narrowed down to 70. I made that cut as well.
This list was further reduced to 14 living and 12 deceased. My name made this very select list in the 14 living under consideration for the first year of eligibility. From this list of 14 living, the voting committee will pick 10.
From what I understand, it is now being voted on by various Pontiac and GTO members for the top 10 living and top 10 that are deceased to be inducted into this first year into the Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame. Those that don’t get nominated this first year are eligible to get voted in for the next 5 years. The winners will be announced prior to this year’s GTO Convention on June 29th - 30th.
I am one of the guest speakers on Thursday, June 28th at 10 am. The event is held at the Oaks in nearby Valley Forge, PA. This is the 39th Annual GTOAA Convention. I am a long-time member, holding membership number #44. I joined when I saw a small article in Hot Rod Magazine many years ago.
I am extremely honored to just be a nominee for the Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame. It’s something I never expected. I will be eligible for the next 5 years should I not garner enough votes to get in this first year of eligibility. I am up against some really big names in the Pontiac/GTO world. (I even wrote the Bio for George Hurst co-founder of Hurst). I am confident George Hurst and John DeLorean will both get nominated this first year under the deceased category. Both have a huge connection with Pontiac/GTO.
The big GTO car show is at the Oaks near Valley Forge, PA on Friday, June 29th. Every year the GTOAA Nationals is held somewhere different in the country. This event is well worth attending as a spectator if you reside anywhere near Valley Forge, PA. The top GTOs in the country compete at this event. They have a special category for those that are original GTO owners. Come on Thursday at 10 am and hear my seminar. I am speaking on Hurst and the early days of the GTO parts business of which I was a major part of. This is at the Oaks Center.
Again, I am just amazed that I am even being considered this first year into the Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame. I never envisioned it when we first started selling GTO parts in the mid-1970s.

SPOOLFOOL DRIP-LIP Flywheel (Torque Converter) Cover
Mike, owner of Spoolfool, has created another great practical high-quality product. It’s a fiberglass flywheel (torque converter) cover that has a built-in drip tray. What’s even crazier is that it works.
It is a known fact that 90% of oil leaks on our cars either happen at the back of the engine or end up at the back of the engine. This clever flywheel cover with its built-in drip tray catches those drips, so the oil does not drip on the ground or on the crossover pipe.
Mike has named this new product the “Drip-Lip.” The piece is made in glossy black fiberglass and it replaces the metal or plastic fly wheel cover. Not only is it lighter than the factory metal flywheel cover, but it will not rust.
This Spoolfool Drip-Lip replaces the stock dust cover and keeps oil from dripping on the ground by trapping it in a special tray that attaches to the bottom of this custom-made cover. It has a removable cloth that absorbs any oil that would normally drip and stain your garage floor or driveway. The small cloth catches any oil from dripping and is easy to remove and replace when it becomes fully soaked. This fiberglass dust cover replaces the factory dust cover. You simply reuse the factory bolts and install this dust cover in place of the plastic or metal one.
Like all of Mike’s fiberglass products, the quality is excellent.
If you are into drag racing, this is a critical part as it eliminates dripping oil from the car onto the race track.
So far, the initial results have been that 80% of oil leaks can be kept from dripping on the ground, track and crossover pipe with it installed on a car.
Up until now, the joke has been that if it ain’t leaking oil, you might want to check the oil level. This unique Spoolfool Drip-Lip hopes to change all that.
This product is NOT FOR EVERYONE. It is only for cars with oil leaks (which is most of the Turbo Regals.)
Spoolfool Production Drip-Lip features:
*Catches engine oil from a 3.8 liter Turbo Buick engine
*Keeps smoking oil off the exhaust crossover pipe
*A must-have part for street or strip car
*Half the weight of an original metal flywheel cover
*Since it is fiberglass, it won’t rust out
*Easy installation
*Made in the U.S.A.
An excellent way to solve the oil drip problem.

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -
We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be use you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] - I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING -
We have had the worst Spring weather in recent times that I can remember. Rain almost every day and then, in many cases, all day.

In many cases, the original brushed disc may be missing from the factory radio knobs or the brushed disc may be discolored.
This is a brand new correct replacement for the 2 outer radio knobs - tuner and volume knobs. These are very hard to find today since they were last used over 20 years ago on various GM radios. These are correct for other GM applications as well, including all the G-body models.
