Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 04-17-2013
REPORT FROM OUR OPEN HOUSE -
The weather was just about picture perfect. Although it was sunny, it was a little cool until early afternoon.
With the added features, such as the wide variety of a free cooked food on Russ and Nancy's luncheon menu, we had our biggest turnout in several years. At one point I counted 72 cars in our parking lot. The cars wrapped around most of our complex. Over 135 people in attendance would be my estimation.
The Yum Yum donuts were gone before 10:30, and we only had one can of soda left by the end of the day!
It was great seeing such a good turnout and such a wide variety of unique Turbo Regals. Besides the Turbo Regals, we had Typhoons, Turbo Trans Ams, GTOs, one of the new Caddy V series cars, a GNX, even a 1968 or 1969 Chevelle that had a 1987 Turbo transplant under the hood.
I want to personally thank everyone who came to our event. Amazingly, we did not have to pick up a single piece of trash off the property. People were very respectful of the area and not even one burnout!
We are proud to say we raised over $1,330 for the Molly Memorial Education Fund in donations and auction results. We want to thank all the attendees and companies for their donations. It's going to a wonderful cause.
Thanks to our staff and helpers, Pete, Christina, John and his brother Chris, Carrie, and Devyn.
Thanks to Jason Maxfield for his help (comes from Canada.)
The mini replicas were a hit, especially with the kids. Special thanks to Jim Hall for bringing them to our event, and to Norm and His Toys for providing so many to display.
A huge THANKS to Mike Barnard (Spoolfool2) for donating one of his gorgeous one-piece rear bumper fillers. To make sure the person that got it would use it, we auctioned it off and the money went to the Molly donation fund. The winner was very happy!
A huge THANKS to John Follweiler for faithfully supplying all the sodas for each of our Open House events.
Thanks to the MAGNA Club for coming. Their caravan of cars must have been impressive coming up Rt. 611.
Lastly, we send a GIGANTIC THANKS to Russ and Nancy for the huge luncheon spread they generously provided. In addition to buying, cooking and serving all the food, they insisted that any donations be given to the Molly Memorial Education Fund. The food was great and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their generosity. Thanks to the Zipins and Russ's neighbor for helping to serve the food.
The photos in this week's Inner Circle were all taken at our Open House.
PHOTO 1 - This top left photo is a closeup of just some of the hot food that was prepared by Russ and Nancy. The mozzarella sticks were in a special sauce that was the best I had ever tasted. My only regret is I waited until the end and only had one! I also had a hamburger as well that was great.
The top right photo shows just a few of the mini replicas that John's Dad brought for display. He had a 53-foot trailer filled with these neat replicas, which his friend Norm shows at various events in the area. He gave rides to the kids in the school bus.
The lower left photo shows Jim Hall getting ready to take the kids off to school in the school bus.
The lower right photo shows on of the girls posing with her favorite purple car. Her dad says she's raced go-carts and loved seeing the replicars.
PHOTO 2 - The attention to detail on some of the cars was outstanding. This top left photo is one such example of the engine compartment that was extremely detailed.
This top right photo shows a low-mileage gun metal grey 1987 Turbo-T that had the desirable black-out option and a burgundy interior, instead of the grey interior. At a quick glance, this car looked to me to be 100% original, down to the valve stem caps. I wish I had more time than I did to spend looking at the cars!
This lower left photo shows one of the white Typhoons along side the Turbo Trans Am.
The lower right photo shows our personal low-optioned 1987 Turbo-T. This car has 100% original paint and is just as clean underneath as it is on the exterior.
PHOTO 3 - This top left photo shows a Buick GSX that was also at our event. This top right photo we show the array of some of our latest parts, including the Tin Man cold air system, Part #7480, along with the new 1986-1987 Turbo Regal AC lines as well as some of our other parts. (The AC lines are not yet in our system).
The lower left photo shows our parking lot lined on both sides with Turbo Regals. At one point we had 71 or 72 cars in attendance. The weather was picture perfect.
The lower right photo shows a real nice custom Turbo Regal. The owner appears to have taken a clue from the original GSX cars by having a similar stripe down the side. The light blue exterior is a rare color in a Turbo Regal. I know from this because I can’t recall having more than 2 in the 317 Turbo Regals I bought and sold over the years.
PHOTO 4 - The top left photo shows a 1968 or 1969 Chevelle powered by an intercooled turbo Regal engine. It is one unique sleeper from New York.
The top right shows another view of some of the cars in the parking lot.
The lower left photo shows Richard Zipin's real GNX. He has attended many of our events over the years with this GNX.
The lower right photo shows the two little helpers I had this year selling our used parts; Riley is on the left and his older brother Noa is on the right. They are our neighbors that have the chickens. The day before I gave them a quick blast in my Turbo Regal. They were in awe for two reasons... how quick the car was from a dead stop and they had never seen the handles for the crank windows before!
So, for those of you that are reading this you now can see what you missed at our Spring Open House. It was a great time, great weather, great customers, and we hope to see you all again soon.
THE HEAD BOLT AND GASKET USAGE CHART -
We showed a photo of a brochure in Photo 2 in last week's (04-10-2013) Inner Circle. We heard from Charlie Frierson. He explained it was used as a quick reference guide for techs so they knew which parts they needed, and it gave the head torque specs for the 1987’s. If that is the case, that brochure would be hard to come by since it wasn’t produced in large numbers for the public. Probably explains why I have never seen any others!
THE MOVIE 42 -
I had a chance this weekend to see this movie. Although I don't follow baseball this movie was more about the issues of the day. If you saw the movie THE HELP from a few years ago this is that type of movie. It had very authentic detail in keeping with the time period. Harrison Ford was great. It certainly was a different time period of our history back then. Personally I can recall in the mid 1970s when I would travel with my Dad on his speaking tours down south, and I witnessed signs saying "Whites Only."

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US -
We have new products to announce in this week's Inner Circle.
1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
RJC RACING #1C-315-XTF FRONT MOUNTED INTERCOOLER KIT
This front mounted intercooler is designed, tested, and built by RJC Racing. It achieves as much intercooler size as you can possibly fit in the front of a Turbo Regal, yet still maintain cool engine temps.
The size of the core is big enough to handle 750 hp (approximately 9.80s in the 1/4 mile.) The intercooler only weighs 33 pounds. This new tube and fin style core allows a significant increase in airflow across the core. You actually get cooler CATs with back-to-back runs than RJC’s previous designed Bar and Plate intercooler, which has been the industry standard. This core flows a whopping 53% more air across the core. This translates to much more airflow going across not only the intercooler core, but also the A/C condenser core and the radiator. This leads to much cooler temps that rival stock location intercoolers. RJC Racing has done testing that has shown as much as a 20 degree temp difference over their previously designed intercooler, which was previously the best intercooler on the market. For a street-driven application, this is the only real choice.
With a stock turbo, gains are about 20 hp. Going with any of the upgrade turbos, gains can be 60 hp or more depending on the turbo upgrade you have. If you run the largest 3 bolt flange turbo available, gains can exceed 100 hp.
Our photos show the front mounted intercooler, clamps, hoses and hardware, and the two upgraded polished pipes.
FEATURES -
CORE STYLE - High-efficency max flow tube ad fin design
END TANK MATERIAL - Die cast aluminum
PIPE MATERIAL - Mandrel Bent 3" aluminum pipe
Intercooler kit is drop shipped from the manufacturer.
Another quality upgrade to provide better 1/4-mile times while retaining a street driven 1986-1987 Turbo Regal.
NOTE - You MUST call our office to order this intercooler kit - 215-766-1611.
7493 - 1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -

1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
Reproduction GNX-STYLE DASH APPLIQUE
This reproduction GNX-style Dash Applique measures 15-1/4" x 4-7/8", the same size and type style as the original. Openings are die cut. This will fit most of the reproduction GNX dashes.
Several versions of this applique exist. This one closely resembles the factory original GNX dash applique. The applique is glossy black with a silver border edge, and silver “PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL ONLY” wording, like the original.
Our version features the seat belt symbol and volt symbol along side the wording, as well as the proper colors behind the 6 idiot lights, which only show up when lit down the far left side. The colors of the series of idiot lights are green, red and amber, like the original. The proper light colors are also behind the turn signal and the high beam indicator.
This would be good to keep as a spare, since the original can easily get scratched over a period of time. Another nice interior restoration item.

Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].

Therefore Pontiac HAD to produce 1500 plus units to sell to comply with Indy regulations. W-S 6 suspension and gold wheels (Found ONLY on the pace car, and in stunning condition) Transmission is the 200R4 4-speed automatic ( significantly stronger than the 4 speed used in naturally aspirated cars). This car was originally built as a "PARADE" car which is why it is a T top. It ended up being used by Indy as a "PR" car. Owned by Pontiac until the end of June 1989 with only 2000s mile, Jim Wangers knew he needed this car in his collection, so he pulled a few strings and acquired the car and has been the owner ever since. This car comes with PHS papers (Documentation Of Authenticity). The original Indy 500 stickers ( these were never applied) in a special black box with all the paperwork. NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website.

Do not send money or credit card info until I have sent you a confirmation email as to the availability of the part listed. Be sure to refer to the Part Number we have assigned to the part.
