BREAKING NEWS COMING SOON GNX 168 FOR SALE FIRST TIME IN 21 YEARS -
A long time customer of ours is considering parting with his pride and joy after 21 years of ownership. The miles driven is approximately 51,000. I should have an answer in the next 2 weeks in time for summer driving a fast appreciating car.
My fee is a set fee. Whatever price you agree to with my seller is the price you pay. I am not here to push for the top dollar but to help make the sale happen between the seller and the buyer. I can arrange transport and in some cases help secure financing through JJ Best & CO based on my background. You must remember we are dealing with cars that are over 30 years old. You can hire an independent party to look at the car prior to purchase and I can put you in touch with the seller to ask any questions you may have. My point is I want both the seller and buyer to have a workable agreement.

FOR SALE 1986 GRAND NATIONAL T-TOPS 49,000 ACTUAL MILES -
This example has spent most of its life in Texas and Oklahoma. It does have a very good repaint on it that was done prior to the current owner's purchase. This car has basically no dents, a mint interior and is extremely well optioned. The current owner has replaced the gas tank and the radiator with the upgraded aluminum radiator. Besides having the digital dash it has a working power antenna, posi rear, touch climate control, power seat, power trunk release, and the full trunk kit. It even has the top of the line $504 original radio and concert sound option! The window sticker shows it was almost $19 grand in 1986! The asking price is $37,900. In photo 1 below we show 4 different views of this latest example we represent. Everything works as it should. Car has never been modified, with the exception it was converted years ago to vacuum brakes.
PHOTO 1- We show four views of this original 1986 Grand National. The 1986 visibly is identical to the 1987 except for the grille and inside door straps. Two features you could easily change out and have the 1987 Grand National look if you so desired.
ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS AND RELATED INFORMATION -
Last week we started an article showing some of the unique documents you can get when you buy one of these Turbo Regals. In recent years it has become important to get any literature you can relate specifically to the Turbo Regal you bought. Even used cars I buy today I always ask if they have the original window sticker. I just bought a 2006 Monte Carlo SS with the rare V8 in it. Same family since new and they had the original window sticker. Car went to Castle Motors. A unique rare example.
In the two photos below we show a photo that one of our customers, Gary Mariencheck was nice enough to send us that he got with his factory astroroof car. The brown envelope would contain the hand crank and directions for the astroroof. That is why the factory astroroof has the small plug to the right of the actual switch in the headliner. The aftermarket astroroof/sunroof would usually have a black plastic button and no small pop in plug for a hand crank. May not seem like much, but that original envelope with the hand crank and instructions to the right buyer would fetch over $150 today. I remember getting over $100 for that several years ago. Speaking of brown envelopes, the front license plate bracket was also in a similar brown envelope and was usually tucked in by the spare tire under the cardboard filler panel. (Unless of course a previous owner removed it). You have to remember not every state requires front license plates.
PHOTO 2 - The two photos show the actual brown envelope along with the directions that would have come inside the envelope. The paper explains how to use the hand crank should the power button fail. This would have come in the glove box.
1987 TURBO-T HARDTOP BLACK EXTERIOR WITH BLACK OUT PACKAGE UPDATE -
New information: This owner wants to sell this car. A tremendous bargain for what has been invested into this extremely rare example. Plus it has only been driven about 1,000 miles since the work was completed. The seller is open to any reasonable offer. The asking price is $34,900. All reasonable offers considered. We have a lot of photos including many of when the work was being done by Steve V’s Automotive in Elberon, Virginia. This can all be verified by calling Steve direct at 757-560-2782. He works on many of these cars for customers and even performed work on my 3rd test car for the owner who bought it from me years ago. Remember this car has only gone about 1,000 miles since Steve performed all this work in 2018. This model 1987 Turbo-T was only produced for a short time in the Fall of 1986 due to the release of the WE4 model. All the paperwork the owner has will back this up. For more info and photos email me direct [email protected]
1987 TURBO-T FOR SALE -
This owner resides in Florida. Prior to this he lived in Nevada. Car was originally sold in Pennsylvania. Car has no rust and has been garaged. Mostly stock with new Pypes exhaust system and Spoolfool fillers. Car is a T-Top. Black exterior gray interior. Originally had the chrome package, but the owner had everything redone in black powder coating or black paint so it appears to have the black out option. Wheels are clear coated so they still look new. Tires have maybe 1,000 miles on them. Car has all our brace kits installed. This includes the 4-piece rear seat brace kit and front triangle set. The reason for selling? He has another performance car and the garage is only a 2-bay. His wife wants one garage bay for her car!
Car only has 38,000 actual miles on it. It has a red pinstripe down both sides in the factory position that has been covered over with a light gray pinstripe. Car runs 100% and AC works. Original paint with the usual checking in the hood due to age. Interior is quite nice. Has aluminum supports front and rear. Also has the top of the line am/fm cassette EQ radio. Trunk ID label intact. VIN1G4GJ1171HP422127. Carfax is clean and in July 2007 the car had 34,000 miles on it. So if you do the math, the car has only been driven 4,000 miles in the last 15 years! The asking price is $34,900. For more pictures, and info contact me [email protected] we do have a recent video of the car available. Remember low mileage examples are very hard to find with no rust issues.
1986 LESABRE GRAND NATIONAL ORIGINAL FAMILY OWNED SINCE NEW FOR SALE -
A very unusual car. This model came out in 1986, the LeSabre Grand National. Based on the new front wheel platform. Over the years as old time readers probably recall we had two of them. The first one my son repainted and we kept it several years before selling to a customer in Texas. Years later I heard it made its way to Minnesota. I have the original Sales Bulletin from Buick that said they were only available in two exterior colors: all black or all white. From what I have seen I think production was limited to black exterior only. Production was either 112 or 117. I have information in my 350 page book. See pages 278 thru 281. This model was called a Grand National; the SPID code on the trunk label was WE2 for Grand National. Being on the front wheel drive platform it was the 3.8 engine with no turbo assist. Same gray leather wrapped steering wheel gray cloth bench seat. Basically a very smooth driving front wheel Grand National that lacked the attention among thieves! This example is located in Virginia and still retains all the original paint. The seller's father bought it brand new. Car is always covered under a carport or in a garage. Car has no dents, the interior is nice and has new tires. Everything works. Actual miles is 168,000.
One minor ding on the gas door two minor rust spots on the hood. Paint still shines and does not reflect its age. Car is all original. The son has some records including all the records when the Dad had the oil changed. No window sticker unfortunately. Car shows it was purchased originally from a dealer in Daytona Beach, Florida. This makes perfect sense since all 112 or 117 were sold in Florida from what I recall. A very unique car. Priced to sell $11,900 is the asking price. Here is one you can drive and enjoy that compliments the better known Grand National. I am sure an insurance company can calculate approximately how many still may be on the road today. My guess? Probably less than 30. For more info and photos email me direct [email protected]
1987 GRAND NATIONAL HARDTOP FOR SALE -
This was actually one of my cars I sold back in 2005. Back then the car had 14,000 miles on it. Now it has 15,000 miles in round numbers. Amazingly, the owner has driven the car less than 1,000 miles in 17 years time! He resides in Florida. He is a retired police officer. Ironically when he joined the local police force his badge number he was assigned was 231! He is basically afraid to drive. The car is 99% stock. When I bought it to resell it already had the AVC style GNX dash in it and I gave the owner the original speedo unit which shows 8,000 miles. The GNX dash was probably reset to reflect those miles. It is a true 15,000 miles Grand National that is well optioned. This is a rare find that has been garaged. Owner has all the glove box booklets and the window sticker. The asking price is $67,900. When the seller first bought it he attended several Englishtown Grand National shootouts and won several trophies including “Best of Show”. I do have photos and more information. Simply email me [email protected] These rare 99% original low mileage examples are getting costly to purchase and values keep climbing. .
A QUICK WORD ON THE CARS WE REPRESENT -
Especially concerning the Turbo Regals. The ones we represent in 99% of the cases are long time customers of ours. In most cases we are the only company advertising the cars for the seller. These are not cars that have been seen by other potential buyers and they turned down as not being worthy. In other words you're getting first shot at buying what we believe is the best example for the price we are asking. We are not selling perfection especially in the case of Turbo Regals that are now over 30 plus years old! But rather the best investment for the money. Each case we do allow some wiggle room on the price as we realize in most cases transporting and taxes is a necessary expense.
We have great success with JJ Best on financing and also deal with a transport broker that is a customer of ours and owns a Grand National. He can get enclosed or open transports in a very quick turn around and a price that in many cases would be hard to beat. What I am saying is we cover all the angles for both the seller and the potential buyer. I know personally I would not want to travel several hundred miles to look at acar that maybe 6 other potential buyers looked at and did not buy for various reasons. I got a lot of experience at not only buying Turbo Regals but other unique performance cars and even regular cars. It’s something I enjoy doing.
NEW PARTS FROM US - These are both on our website #7983 and #7984. We now offer the Racing Jason deep sump oil pan and the special gasket as well. This is the hot ticket to seal up the problematic oil leaks related to the stock oil pan. This is a quality piece besides providing more oil which is the life blood for any engine. It is well designed. Even the bung to drain it has been mounted on the outside so you get every bit of oil etc out of the pan at each oil change. Plus they fact it holds more oil. It has been coated inside and out so it even looks good.
RARE PARTS -
This week is the first week that features some of the parts we just got in from this 20 year stash of parts. Below are photos of more parts we have for sale. Note under Rare Parts we are including shipping on some of the small items to go by USPS as we need to move some of these parts to make room for this load of parts we will be getting the first week of April.
PHOTO 3 - The top left photo shows a NOS ignition coil, NOS AC Delco heater water valve, NOS boost line, NOS cam sensor and a NOS S hose. The top right photo shows a super mint original 1986-1987 Grand National wheel. The bottom left photo shows 3 original AC Delco Nos parts, fan delay relay, wastegate solenoid, and an EGR valve. The bottom right photo shows a brand new set of 4 embroidered floor mats. All these parts are from this new stash of goodies..
PHOTO 4 - The top left photo shows 4 NOS GN wheel caps never opened! Also a set of 3 NOS GN emblems made by the same NY company that made them originally for GM. I had them done many years ago. Also 2 original gray shifter handles both complete with all original parts. The top right photo shows a nice pair of gray visors with the passenger one having a lighted mirror feature. The bottom left photo shows a pair of the plastic door vents, a good used cigarette lighter, and a nice used Turbo spring loaded header emblem. The bottom right photo shows a real nice pair of the rear red main tail lights. All these parts appear under the Rare Parts section for sale.
BARRETT JACKSON AUCTION WEST PALM BEACH FLORIDA LATER THIS WEEK -
The dates are April 7th thru the 9th. Castle Motors will have 3 vehicles at this major auction. Two of them came from me. One is a very rare 1987 Turbo-T Limited hardtop. The Limited has the window sticker and has the ultra rare thicker padded ½ vinyl roof and original gray paint! Car has just 33,100 actual miles. Bid lot number is 342.1. Also they have a 1992 black GMC Typhoon with 72,000 miles at the auction as well. Real nice condition even the exterior cladding is not cracked. Black exterior. That bid lot number is #332. Both the Limited and the Typhoon were winners at this past year's World of Wheels event. The other car I got for him last year is a Chrysler Crossfire coupe black 6-speed manual with a mere 17,000 actual miles. I don't have the bid lot number on this car.
IN STOCK A REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL STOCK TURBO BY LIMIT ENGINEERING -
Normally we don’t get them rebuilt until we have one sold then we send the core to Limit to rebuild. In this case we have one on the shelf ready to sell already rebuilt. The price is $895.95 which includes a $175 refundable core charge. Part #6848. Contact the office to make sure we have it still in stock!
WE CAN SELL YOUR CAR -
When the time comes you need to down size or you want to strike while the value is high we have a good success rate at finding buyers. Especially now with Spring and Summer fast approaching. We handle the advertising and answering the questions and weeding out the tire kickers. We never give out the exact location of your car. You decide on the price after any bargaining is done. The money goes directly from the buyer to your bank account. I have a flat commission based on the price span. This format has worked out very well for me for both the buyer and the seller. The buyer has more confidence about the car. The seller is not bothered with phone calls or emails. Most potential buyers know who I am. So whenever the time comes you want to sell your car, email me the particulars. I can explain the process to you which also allows you to sell the car as well. My email is [email protected] I can also help you determine the price. I can also take in a trade and pay you the seller the difference. I have worked with JJ Best in the past which is quite generous in granting loans. So you have plenty of options. We have sold 3 of the Grand Nationals in the last 6 weeks! For a total of over $135,000. All 3 sellers will gladly give me a good review. We also work with a broker that can handle transport both open and enclosed. This transport broker is a customer of ours and owns personally a 9,000 mile Grand National! He just had the last 3 cars I sold transported to their new homes! The car needs not be a Turbo Regal.
FOR SALE 300 MILE ORIGINAL 1987 GRAND NATIONAL HARDTOP -
This example has been properly preserved all these years. Runs and drives. Been stored on a 4 post lift as part of a huge car collection in Illinois. My seller will consider partial trades of one or more vehicles of interest towards the price tag. The window sticker has never been removed from the car. Originally sold in Texas. The price tag $199,900 takes it home. The tires have been upgraded to the correct new reproduction tires. The original tires have been replaced with the new reproductions. The car has been properly preserved and runs. The window sticker has never been removed. For more info and photos email me direct [email protected]
NEED A CAR TRANSPORTED? -
Whether you need an open transport or enclosed transport we highly recommend Sal Hamed. Sal is a broker with a number of transporters and can get you the best price. He knows what you expect as he personally owns a 9,000 mile original Grand National and is a customer of ours. You must use my name when contacting him to get a special price. His email is [email protected] We highly recommend his services!
OUR RARE PARTS LISTING AND SHIPPING CHARGES -
Concerning our Rare Parts. We have reduced slightly the dollar amount in order to qualify for free shipping. The total of your order on the listed Rare Parts is now $75. If your order of the rare listed parts falls short of $75 you must add $15 to cover shipping. This is due to UPS raising their fees beginning last month. You hit $75 and we cover shipping. Below $75 you have to tack on $15 additional. We also use the mail system on small parts so you will notice on some parts the price includes USPS shipping.
CANADIAN CUSTOMERS -
Due to the many issues concerning shipping to Canada and the problems that arise when we back order something which costs us more money and also you the customer due to customs we have a new system effective immediately. You must call our office with your order. We will determine what is in stock and put aside for your order. You would only pay for what we have in stock at that point in time. You in turn have to arrange the shipping either with USPS, UPS, or with Fed EX from our Chicago location. Larger items would still be shipped from our PA location. This is effective immediately.

TIPS AND IDEAS YOU HAVE TRIED -
If you have an idea or tip or a product idea, send it to my email [email protected]
Here is a tip I have used in the past for masking off decals, the yellow wording on brake bowls, and repainting the black on the 1986-1987 Grand National wheels. Both can be a problem to mask off properly so what I do is dip my finger in lithium grease and carefully spread it around the area I don’t want any overspray to get it. It's not a perfect solution, but it comes pretty close!

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again.
Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING -
Remember, the weekly Inner Circle always goes out at 3 pm eastern time so subscribers all have the same equal chance on the Rare Parts. All our parts generally are priced to sell and priced below what others offer. Also our used items are exactly as described. Emails are acknowledged in the order we receive them regardless of when I respond as I am not always by a computer and I only use a flip phone. It's best to email as soon as possible with your request(s) as many of our items sell within the first hour! Do NOT call the office on the listed Rare Parts as you could lose out by someone beating you with an email. Remember if shipping is not noted as included you must pay $15 extra.

This week is the first week that features some of the parts we just got in from this 20 year stash of parts. Below are photos of more parts we have for sale.

CLASSIFIED ADS -
We accept Classified Ads in our weekly Inner Circle emails. Over the years several customers have asked about placing an ad in our weekly Inner Circle.
Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.

The cost for an ad for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
