MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM US -
Wishing you and your family the very best in 2012. From Dennis and Eileen, Darrell and Carrie, Pete, Christina, and John.
We will NOT be emailing an Inner Circle next week (December 28th.) It's our one week off during the year between Christmas and New Years.
Our office will be closed Friday, December 23, Monday, December 26th and Monday, January 2nd, 2012. UPS is also closed on Monday December 26th and Monday January 2nd.
AS THE YEAR COMES TO AN END -

PHOTO 1- Our first photo shows both of these new 2012 calendars. The calendar on the left features the same design as the World of Motorworks T-shirt we also carry. The calendar on the right shows the engine of this remarkable modified Turbo Regal. Calenders are $14.95 each or both for $25. Here is the information and link to these two calendars on our website.

PHOTO 2 - We now also offer these 100% new mini starters complete with new bolts. They have a full 2-year manufacturer's warranty. They fit the standard 153 tooth flywheels found on all the 1984-1987 Regals including the Turbo models. They offer 50% more torque over your factory full size starter. They weigh under 8-1/2 pounds. So besides saving weight and providing more torque, they also provide more clearance with any of the different headers and down pipes.
1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
BRAND NEW MINI STARTER
This starter fits all the standard 153 tooth flywheels found in 1984-1987 Buick V6 Regals, including the turbo models.
These mini high-torque starters are 100% brand new and come with a manufacturer's 2-year warranty. They have 50% more torque over the stock full-size starter.
This new mini starter weighs under 8-1/2 lbs. It's another easy method to save some weight on your Regal. Another advantage of this smaller starter is you have more clearance in the engine compartment for any style header and down pipe you may be using.
Because of the size difference, this mini starter requires different bolts to secure it to the engine block. Both of these new special Grade 8 bolts are included in the kit.
Another excellent upgrade which not only provides more torque over the factory starter to crank the engine, but saves weight too.

TIME TO REFLECT -
If you are about my age you were a child during the 1950s. The electronics age had not blossomed as it has since then. The introduction of the color TV, 45 rpm records, and transistor radios was still yet to come. For boys, one of the biggest joys was having trains, whether it be the fairly new HO gauge or the larger standard gauges most notably, the Lionel trains.
For me, it was HO trains. Like many families back in the 1950s, this meant quality time with Dad. Usually, just after Thanksgiving, we would pull out the train platform and begin setting up the trains in the dining room. Each year we would go to a hobby store and add a few more upgrades.
Of course, time goes on, and over the years and through several moves I have managed to keep most of my trains from my youth. At this time of year I get a little sentimental and still make it a habit to go to a hobby store and buy something and stash it away with my collection of HO trains.
The other day I went though my trains that have been wrapped in newspaper. The dates on the newspapers are from 1981, which would be the last time I set them up at our old house. A few years back I bought a small set of the N gauge trains and put them around the Christmas tree so our granddaughter (who turns 13 next week), could see them. Our cat usually knocks the train off the track within minutes.
PHOTO 3 - This steel passenger engine was one I painted back when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I keep it on display in my office in the house as a reminder of that time in my life. The bus is almost equally as old and was made in Western Germany.
PHOTO 4 - A lot of my train cars I have kept in the original boxes. It's not often you see a train car that is automotive related, but pictured in the top half of the top photo is one spotlighting Hooker Headers. The lower one in the top photo celebrates the American Bicentennial 1776-1976. That makes this boxcar over 34 years old. The lower photo shows the Tyco Kit for the Howard Johnson Restaurant. Now in the real world, it's just another part of history that has disappeared from the side of the roads. Howard Johnson restaurants were mostly located on the east coast.
NEW PART - ONE-PIECE 3" STAINLESS DOWN PIPE -
1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
304 STAINLESS STEEL ONE-PIECE 3" DOWN PIPE &
CUSTOM 3" CATALYTIC CONVERTER
This one-piece 3" down pipe will work with any factory-style exhaust housing. You have to remove the exhaust elbow so this will bolt up to the turbo exhaust housing. You also have to modify the side of the turbo shield, if you plan to re-use your turbo shield. This 3" one-piece 304 stainless steel down pipe is mandrel bent and will clear the stock inner fender and firewall.
Because of the age of these cars, it is recommended that you have fairly new motor mounts and body mounts so clearances stay consistent.
Your stock down pipe is 2-1/2" and necks to 2-1/4" in some areas. By opening up this exhaust provides better flow and compliments any other upgrades you make.
Down pipe comes with a new stainless steel band clamp and special bolts to secure down pipe to the turbo.
A nice performance upgrade to compliment any other performance modifications you make.
7369 - 1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
304 Stainless Steel ONE-Piece 3" Down Pipe $449.95
7370 - 1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
304 Stainless Steel ONE-Piece 3" Down Pipe &
Custom 3" Catalytic Converter $674.95

CARS FOR SALE UPDATE -
The 1967 Corvette has been sold.
The 1984 Corvette with 38,000 miles, located near our office, is still for sale. The asking price is $5995. It is a 4 speed and has that rare overdrive feature they offered in 1984.
The 5,500-mile 1990 Mustang notchback may still be available. The price is just under $10,000. This has been sitting since 1992. Car is all original with one exception - the owner had the dealer install a sunroof.
The same owner of the Mustang still has the 400-mile Firehawk. That price has been dropped to $20,900. This car will find a home eventually.
Here is another unusual car for sale near our office. This car currently sits in a small used car showroom. I used to do all the towing for this dealership when it was a Dodge agency. The car is a 1967 Jaguar XKE Type 4.2 coupe. Car is an Opalescent Silver Blue with a black leather interior. Both front seats appear to have been redone. It is an automatic with just 56,000 miles. A recent tune up and all new brakes have been done. The transmission does have a leak. At best, this is a driver quality car. The dealer was asking $34,000, but the car can be bought for $25,000 or possible trades may be considered.
I have more information and photos on all of the above vehicles for interested buyers.
From time to time I will spotlight cars that we do not own, but I think may interest some of our readers. These will be unique cars or a good deal.
SLP FIREBIRD FORMULA NEW LOWER PRICE -
The seller now is dropped the asking price to $20,900. This is for the 400-mile red 2002 SLP Formula Firebird we pictured in the 11-16-2011 Inner Circle. This car will be finding a new home at some point.
FEELING OLD -
I just read that the Beach Boys founding members Mike Love, Brian Wilson, and Al Jardine are planning a 50th Anniversary tour next year. I turned 16 in 1963, near the beginning of their string of hits that centered around cars, girls and that California sound.
GNX MECUM AUCTION UPDATE -
The GNX at the Kansas City Missouri auction we mentioned in a previous Inner Circle was bid to $50,000 and a NO SALE, according to Rick Clontz.
URGENT REQUESTS FOR CORES -
Currently we need stock complete powermaster brake units. They are worth a $100 Letter of Credit on any website parts.
We also need stock original 1986-1987 AC Delco mass air flow sensors. They are worth a $25 Letter of Credit.
We do not pay cash. You must pay the shipping to us and pack the item well. Using the postal system is probably the cheapest method to ship.
Remember, cores help us help others keep their Turbo Regals on the road using factory parts. Without cores, a valuable portion of what customers need get discontinued.
ALWAYS IN A BUYING POSITION WORKS -
Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - [email protected].
Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].
