Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 03-10-2021 -
THE RETURN OF THE REBUILT 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL POWER STEERING PUMP -
We recently discovered that Cardone has a limited supply of the original 1986-1987 Turbo Regal power steering pump cores in stock that they can rebuild for us. As time goes on these will become even harder to find.
We have some now in stock. If you have a hydroboost system in your Turbo Regal it is putting a strain on the 30 plus year old power steering pump. Shown in Photo 1. Might be a good move to have a spare power steering pump.
CLICK HERE - For the link to see the info on our website for the rebuilt power steering pump.
CUSTOM BUILT LAMBORGHINI REPLICA -
We recently mentioned that the very last Lamborghini replica Darrell built is going up for sale. It was originally purchased over 15 years ago and in all this time has only been driven less than 500 miles. The Fiero 6 cylinder engine only has about 10,000 miles on it. This Lamborghini replica has been stored in a heated and air conditioned building its entire life. It is now at Darrell’s location and is for sale. See Photo 1.
PHOTO 1 - In the top left photo we show a picture of the 1986-1987 rebuilt power steering pump. They come without the pulley. You need to remove the pulley from your power steering pump.
The top right photo and bottom photos show the exterior and the dash cluster of this Lamborghini replica. The actual exterior paint color is a factory Lamborghini paint color. This car is for sale. For more info contact me personally [email protected]
MORE NEW PARTS COMING SOON -
We will soon have the new reproduction Goodmark brand front header panel. This is a cool item, GM licensed that is a duplicate of the Grand National metal fender and trunk emblem. This smaller reproduction emblem is an exact match also done in metal and replaces the Buick grille emblem. Buick should have made this grille emblem for the Grand Nationals. Watch for these new items in an upcoming Inner Circle.

OUR GMC SYCLONE -
Last week we featured the first time we laid eyes on the new GMC Syclone when it came to one of our car shows at the nearby Johnsville, Airbase. According to Steven Saffier the LSR Syclone that I showed in the ad is now owned by one of the Syclone/Typhoon club members. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Syclone.
I would think the Syclone we owned which was number 18 is quite special. Especially with all the documentation I have. Our Syclone was used for most of the magazine testing and was the actual truck to appear on the cover of Car & Driver September 1991 alongside the Ferrari would be quite special. Plus I have most of the documents to back it up. I have no idea where that Syclone is today. I have a letter from GMC not only stating it was the cover truck on that specific Car & Driver issue but also appeared in Autoweek, Detroit Free Press, Automobile, and Motor Week around the same time.
PHOTO 4 - The top left photo shows the actual Car & Driver September 1991 issue magazine cover. The center photo shows a copy of the letter from GMC addressed to me dated September 30th 1991. The top right photo shows the Hurst Quarter stick installed in our Syclone. The bottom photo shows a side view of our Syclone at the obstacle course when I ran the Syclone at the Porsche event that one Sunday morning.

MORE HURST TRIVIA -
Hurst was no different than most automotive companies that make a wide range of products for the consumer. Not every product is going to be a hit and a huge seller to the public. Or when tested proved to create a possible problem. It is products like this that years later due to their rarity are in high demand among collectors. In my collection of Hurst items I am fortunate enough to have both of these products in my possession. The best well known product that never enjoyed much success was the Hurst wheel. Some say it was due to the costs. Hurst I am sure was disappointed that unlike the shifters no automotive car manufacturer wanted to add it to their product line. Whatever the reasons are the Hurst wheel never enjoyed much success. They made several different designs but all were based on a 14 by 6 rim size. The chrome trim rings were quite unique compared to others at the time as they extended between the wheel spokes.
Ironically the initial packaging for the wheels was a metal can that would hold 2 Hurst wheels. Over the years nice original Hurst wheel cans fetch several hundred dollars. I remember years ago I had a dented rusted one I used to put trash in it. I had my secretary back then put it on ebay. She thought who would buy a rusted trash can. She was very much surprised when it fetched several hundred dollars! Later Hurst would switch to an individual box for each Hurst wheel. Hurst never wanted to discount their products if they did not sell. I know this for fact. Years ago when we had our towing business I recall going top this one junkyard and seeing a pile of Hurst wheels over 4 feet high. Each wheel had been torched across the center and torched through the center cap. The pile must have had hundreds of these wheels. True story. Another story that I can’t validate is when the Johnsville Airbase which was located across the street from the Hurst plant was building the runways Hurst dumped products in the ground as filler. Again I have no proof that this was actually done, but at the same time it is all possible Hiurst did this as George was a Navy man! Back when I was dealing in GTOs I sold over 15 sets over the years of Hurst wheels. The most money I ever got for a set was $3500 and that was for a set that I had on our personal 1964 custom GTO. Today it is not unreal to see original sets bring 5 to 8 grand. Remember this is for a 14 by 6 wheel! The Hurst wheel by far is most associated with the GTO. If you attend any GTO National event you will see several show cars with Hurst wheels. Our first car show held in 1988 at our home we had 7 GTOs on display with Hurst wheels. Years ago, the GTO Club would not allow GTOs with Hurst wheels to enter in the stock class. Eventually they had to alter the rules slightly. I like to believe I had a big impact with that rule change!
I have a near mint original Hurst wheel can in my office. It is probably one of a kind as it has been signed by Bill Campbell the co-founder of Hurst, Miss Hurst Linda Vaughn, and the very first Miss Hurst Pat Flannery Stephens. She was Miss Hurst only for one year. She was a guest at a GTO National convention years ago and I was also there as a guest speaker.
Next week, I will cover another Hurst product that they quickly discovered would prove to be a fire hazard! Fortunately this part never made it to market!

TIP FROM KIRBAN -.
Remember with shipping prices always increasing especially as fuel costs go up, it is best to order several things at one time to offset the shipping costs. This is especially true if you are ordering small parts.
IMPORTANT - INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SHIPPING ADDRESS –
If you are returning any cores or products, it is important that you send them to the correct address.
KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
529 HAYCOCK RUN ROAD
KINTNERSVILLE, PA 18930
We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON RARE PARTS FOR SALE –
In order for our Inner Circle members to have an equal opportunity on the Rare Parts, no emails regarding orders on rare parts will be honored prior to 3 pm Wednesday. POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal, add $10. You would receive a $160 Letter of Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the
brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.

NEW FRONT SWAY BAR BOLTS (4) SET
One of the unique bolts is the ones that secure the two metal brackets that hold the front sway bar to the frame.
After over 30 years, these unique bolts become rusted. One of our long-time customers researched the bolts and found a source that makes these unique bolts.
Bolts are Grade 12.9, which have a minimum tensile strength of 180,000 psi and are coated to prevent rust.
These are 12 point flange bolts. These have a slightly different shoulder, but still work.
Our photo shows four original rusted bolts at the top and four new replacement bolts at the bottom.

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -
We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING -
We were recently contacted by two sources that once the winter weather ends hopefully we can strike a deal on a bunch of parts that both these sellers have accumulated over a number of years. In one case the individual has passed away. In the other instance the seller recently turned 80 years young. Will have more info on both deals once Spring gets here and it can’t be sooner enough! A solid week of temps never getting above freezing mark.
Please, if you have any original 1986-1987 Turbo Regal turbos, cash them in with us for the $175 Letter of Credit. This helps us help our customers obtain the rebuilt turbo they need for their car.

This way Inner Circle members get the opportunity first to purchase any of the rare items that may be pictured in the main body of the Inner Circle which may go on our website earlier in the day each week. Inner Circle members are the ONLY people that get to see the Rare Parts listing and see the prices.
CORES NEEDED - URGENT REQUEST –

If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

GOOD NEWS - WE ARE ACCEPTING CLASSIFIED ADS -
Good news - We now accept Classified Ads in our weekly Inner Circle emails. Over the years several customers have asked about placing an ad in our weekly Inner Circle.
Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.
Our weekly Inner Circle reaches over 3,500 members every Wednesday direct to their inbox. The Inner Circle also appears every Wednesday on our website with the related photos. Your ad would be visible to both groups of readers. So, the exposure to your ad is well over 3,400 potential buyers.
Ads submitted properly by the previous Sunday would appear that next Wednesday in the weekly Inner Circle. Ads must be submitted by email to - [email protected]
Payment by credit card must be done by phone to our office 215-766-1611.
NOTE - IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE THE BUICK RARE PARTS SECTION -
If you are not able to see the Buick Rare Parts section at the end of this Inner Circle, it is because you are not an Inner Circle member, but instead are reading this on the website. You must subscribe to see the Rare Parts section each week. It would go directly to your inbox every Wednesday afternoon. It is FREE, probably one reason why nobody complains about what I write about. To subscribe simply email – [email protected] - to get our free weekly Inner Circle email.
The Buick Rare Parts section is only viewed by those that subscribe. Subscription is free, so complaints on what I write are nonexistent!
