NEW "ADVENTURES OF TOMMY TURBO" CARTOON -
PHOTO 1 - Shows the latest "Adventures of Tommy Turbo" cartoon that Fred Boatman did for us. This is #002 in the series.
Related to this cartoon, we have what is the closest stick-on body side molding to what Buick used as an option. The actual width and format is almost a dead-on match to the original molding that Buick used on the Grand Nationals and black Turbo Regals. It comes in a 30-foot roll with specs showing the proper placement for the side of your car. (No drilling is required!!!) I looked a long time to find this correct-looking body side molding. It's our Part #6793 - 1986-1987 Turbo Regal - Body Side Molding - 30′ Roll - Fits all 1986-1987 Grand Nationals, all 1986 T-Types, all 1987 Turbo-Ts with WO2 Exterior Sport package and all 1987 WE4 Turbo-Ts.

MORE TURBO REGAL MEMORIES -
Perhaps for some of you this will bring back memories.
We had a local customer bring us some parts the other day for trade. Included was one of our very first design silk-screened 145 speedometer plates. This was the very first design that we started to sell in late 1988 and it appears in our 1989 catalog. The price back then was $69.95 just for the plate or for $105 we would get your speedometer recalibrated with this new silk-screened 145 faceplate installed.
According to our catalogs, we kept that format until late 1993, and in 1994 we went with the current decal format, which we have sold ever since.
We changed because we could no longer get brand new 85 mph faceplates from GM. Also, it was very time consuming for the artist we used to silk screen the faceplates because of the cut outs and working between the sides of the plate was very confining.
PHOTO 2 - In the photo we show this unused original 145 silk-screened speedometer faceplate on the top. Compared to our current decal below it, the numbers were quite small. However, on the silk screen design we did retain the Km/h across the top like GM did originally. I believe back in those early days ATR also did a silk-screened version.
With the winter months, many of you have parked your pride and joy. It's a good time to get your analog 85 mph speedometer upgraded to the 145 mph, our Part #6810. We are fortunate that the shop that does our calibration has been in business over 40 years and I have been a customer of theirs for almost as long!
Here is a link to the Reproduction 145-mph Recalibrated Speedometer with Decal on our website:
http://www.kirbanperformance.com/product/115/Reproduction+145-mph+RECALIBRATED+SPEEDOMETER+WITH+DECAL+%236810.html
Another nice upgrade that makes sense to do at the same time would be to go with our analog Dash LED light setup, Part #7234.
You would be amazed at the improvement this makes at night. This upgrade moves the lights over 1" closer to the part it has to shine light on. Plus, each of the seven LED sticks has four LED lights on it. So you get 28 rays of light versus just seven regular 194 bulbs. It's an easy project to do, does not affect the value of your car, and makes seeing the gauges at night a lot better. When I say it's easy to install, I talk from experience. The directions are based on me installing them with no assistance in our personal white Turbo-T. We all know, my mechanical skills would not win any awards.

MORE MEMORIES FROM THE PAST -
While researching the old style 145 speedometer faceplate. I ran across a photo of one of the very early individuals who had a Grand National and started a side line business with T-shirts and jackets. This was before GM started to enforce their license agreement.
Known as C.J. Sales, Chuck lived in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Of course, this meant any Turbo Regal event he attended back then (such as Englishtown, and Bowling Green) was a major road trip!
PHOTO 3 - In this photo we show Chuck set up at, I believe, the GS Nationals probably around 1990 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was one of the very first to advertise in our then new monthly “GRAND NEWS” newsletter starting in September of 1988. The second photo shows his display ad at the bottom half of the page in our fourth issue of “GRAND NEWS.” We lost touch with Chuck many years ago when he no longer attended the major Turbo Buick events. As the years have gone by, old time Turbo Regal owners can recall other smaller companies that have come and gone.
MORE CONFIRMATIONS FOR OUR SPRING OPEN HOUSE -
INSURANCE APPRAISAL SPECIALIST - Terry Shaw, Automotive Legal Services, is scheduled to come. Some of you have met Terry in the past at some of our events. He will be here to answer questions and do appraisals of your Turbo Regal.
Terry has been in the business for many years and is fully licensed specializing in collectible cars. In talking to Terry last week, he says one insurance issue is called "Diminishing Value." This can be a sticking point. For example, if you have a 100% original paint Grand National, and you get hit (even if your car is repaired like new,) it is no longer "All Original." There is a percentage of value that has been lost, not to mention if it was recorded with Car Fax or one of those other companies. We have known Terry personally for over 35 years. Here is his contact information if you want to schedule an appraisal with him at the Open House, Phone - 215-487-4947, email [email protected]
MINI REPLICA CARS - John Hall (who works for us) and his Dad will be bringing a 53-foot trailer filled with 15 different mini replicars that you can actually ride. I guarantee this is something you will want to photograph, as the array of vehicles is quite unique. So, bring your camera. Known locally as "Norman and his Toys," John's Dad is the caretaker of Norm's passion of these mini cars. They are a hit at any of the shows they attend.
PHOTO 4 - The top left photo shows a cement mixer truck piloted by our son, Darrell. The top right photo shows John Hall on a Chevy pickup. The lower left photo shows our granddaughter Devyn in a 1957 Chevy convertible. Last, but not least, the lower right shows our daughter-in-law Carrie driving one that is a Toilet replica, complete with a license plate that reads, "GOTTA-GO." John's Dad brought them over late in the day at our last Open House.
NEAT NEW PRODUCT COMING SOON -
We will soon be offering something unique based on your favorite photos. We will have several examples on display at our Open House and should have the information in next week's Inner Circle. Technology has come a long way in recent years.
KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS ON YouTube -
We have been recording various segments on our products and information related to the Buick Turbo Regals, and we have posted them on YouTube.
Some segments feature products, their placements, benefits, or issues.
Already on YouTube are clips explaining Powermaster Brake Issues, Filler Panels, a Rust Degreaser Remover Products, Rewrapped Steering Wheel and Horn Collars, and Speakers.
We will add additional videos monthly, so be sure to check back periodically. This way you can see firsthand some of our new and existing products available for your Turbo Regal, and get some related technical information.
If you want something further explained, be sure to let us know, and we will try and work it into another segment for YouTube.

URGENT REQUEST FOR MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS -
We badly need original AC Delco 1986-1987 Turbo Regal mass air flow sensors as cores to have them be rebuilt. Screens can be missing but housing can't be broken or cracked.
We issue a $25 Letter of Credit for each acceptable sensor you send us. This helps us help others retain their cars keeping them original.
THE GS REGAL AND GMC JIMMY UPDATE -
As of this writing both vehicles have been sold. We appreciate the response we received on the Jimmy. The dealer that had the GS Regal for sale actually got a buyer for that car. One of our Turbo customers bought the Jimmy.
GOT A GOOD FEELING THE OTHER DAY -
I visited with my brother, who lives about 50 miles from us, and took him to his favorite restaurant Olive Garden. Once seated, another couple sat near us. The guy was wearing a Marine dress uniform. I quietly told our waitress that I would cover their meal and did not want the couple to know who did it. He looked like he just gotten out of basic training and I remember those days from my own experience. (Your pay scale was at the low end). I never made it above PFC3.
NEW PRODUCTS FROM US -
GRAND NATIONAL AND GREY T-TYPE SEAT COVERS -
Years ago we used to sell slip-on seat covers that closely matched the black and grey Grand National seats. Unfortunately, the supplier we used back then is no longer in business.
We recently found another company that does everything in house. With the soaring costs of original pallex seat material, it's important you protect your original bucket seats as much as possible. Here is complete information:
1984-1987 Grand National / GNX and 1984-1987 T-Type -
SLIP-ON FRONT SEAT COVERS (4 Pieces) SETS
With the high cost and difficulty finding original Pallex grey and black seat material, it is important to protect your original seats from any dirt or wear.
We have found these high-quality seat covers to fit extremely well. Each set includes four pieces, which will cover both original front bucket seats and the headrests.
We have these custom made in a similar two-tone (black and grey) design to match the original Grand National and GNX front bucket seats, Part #7470 and also in all grey material for the T-Type front bucket seats, Part #7471.
NOTE - Although these will fit all 1982-1988 G-Body cars, we list 1984-1987 because of these color combinations offered on those models.
The material is 60% cotton and 40% polyester, so it won’t shrink when washed. Each seat cover has a storage pocket on the back side (driver’s and passenger’s seat backs), as shown in our second photo.
We offer two styles. Part #7470 fits the Grand National or GNX and has grey inserts with black borders. Part #7471 is solid grey for the T-Types. Our supplier makes them in house, so the color match is consistent from set to set. Each set includes covers for the factory headrests to match.
Covers are a durable cotton/polyester blend and are easy to install around the back and bottom front seats.
Covers are plain - no logos or printing, and are machine washable. An excellent quality and value to protect your car’s original seats.
Another excellent protective item for your car.
NOTE - The colors in our photos on our website may not represent these covers exactly due to computer monitor differences.
#7470 - 1984-1987 Grand National / GNX -
Slip-on Front Seat Covers Set, Black and Grey (4-piece Set) - $149.95 / set
#7471 - 1984-1987 T-Type -
Slip-on Front Seat Covers Set, All Grey (4-piece Set) - $109.95 / set

GM LICENSED - Reproduction INSTRUCTION VISOR DECAL -
Our one supplier now has this GM licensed visor decal available for all 1984-1987 Turbo Regals. This does have the GM part number on it and is made in the proper material to affix to your driver's sun visor. Here is the information:
1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
GM LICENSED - Reproduction INSTRUCTION VISOR DECAL
GM affixed this decal to the back of the driver’s sun visor. This label contains VERY important oil and gas recommendations for the Turbo Regal.
Unfortunately, most owners removed their original sticker/decal and threw it away. Since the cars are now so old, the original may have fallen off, deteriorated and become discolored.
The original GM decal is no longer available.
These GM Licensed reproduction decal measures 3-1/2" x 6-7/8", is printed in black, red, yellow and blue on white stock, and shows the GM part number in the lower right. It has a self-adhesive backing to adhere to the visor.
If you are having the interior restored, or if your visor has been recovered, you would want to replace the visor decal.
Our first photo on our website shows the reproduction decal, and the second photo shows an original faded visor with a faded dirty original decal.
A handy way to keep this information at your fingertips!
Another great restoration decal.
SHIPPING NOTE - If this is the only item you are purchasing, we can ship it by U.S. Mail for $3. However, you would need to call us (215-766-1611) to order it since our website does not give you the option to ship by U.S. Mail.
#7472 - 1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
GM Licensed - Reproduction Instruction Visor Decal - $10

We now carry the rocker shaft braces, our Part #7478. Another fine product made by RJC Racing out of Utah.
1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
ROCKER SHAFT BRACES (4) SET
This upgrade will fit all Buick iron heads with stock rocker shafts, not just the ones for the years listed.
These braces are made from heat-treated 4140 chromolly and are designed to reinforce the factory rocker shaft. They attach to the end fasteners, and are very easy to install. They prevent the rocker shaft from breaking due to fatigue placed on them by the end rocker on the shafts.
The poor factory design creates fatigue in this area, which can eventually lead to having the rocker fail. All aftermarket roller rockers come with a similar part to prevent failure with their set ups.
If you upgrade your valve springs, we highly recommend you install these at the same time. This is a worthwhile investment on a stock engine to prevent problems later on.
Another specialty product from RJC Racing that we offer.
7478 - 1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
Rocker Shaft Braces (4) Set - $55/set

LOOKING FOR IDEAS -
If you have any product ideas that would fit our Turbo Buick market that you would like to see available, email me direct - [email protected]
ALWAYS IN A BUYING POSITION WORKS -
Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - [email protected].
Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] - I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING -
Do you own a 1997-2002 Pontiac Grand Prix? Or similar W-body car? If so we have several parts for these cars. Email me and I can provide you with a list - [email protected]

#7471 - 1984-1987 T-Type -

Mail.

Be sure to circle April 13th on your calendar, for our annual Kirban Spring Open House. Event has no rain date.
