Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 03-01-2023 - BREAKING NEWS ON INNER CIRCLE - If you want to continue to get my FREE weekly emails featuring my stories, vehicles for sale, and the various Turbo Regals parts we get, you MUST email me at [email protected] or [email protected] this week. Note “Add me to your Kirban newsletter list” in the reference line. HEARD FROM SEVERAL SUBSCRIBERS - My article on my 3 picks for worthy used cars with high miles on them. The comments agreed with my findings. I can’t put my finger on just one thing but Honda-Toyota-Mazda are some of the best buys in a used vehicle. I have owned all 3 makes. Older car models have less technology in them which translates into less problems. Especially prior to when they went with that stupid tire lite symbol! Ask any Turbo Regal owner that has the misfortune of having the optional power antenna option. I would be curious to know why the Monte Carlo always stuck with the fixed antenna during those G body years! Did Chevy engineers know something that the Buick engineers didn’t know? BREAKING NEWS 4,000 MILE GNX COMING UP FOR SALE - This latest GNX we have no new information as of yet. Watch for updates. VEHICLES STILL AVAILABLE - The 2006 Impala SS, 1955 MG TF needing a full restoration. ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS - Again from my vast collection of original literature I have posted a few pictures below of some of the “gems”. PHOTO 1 - The photo to the left shows a copy of part of an original window sticker for the very rare 1982 ½ Grand National. These models were titled as a 1982 Regal 2 Dr Coupe. About ⅔ thirds down the left column the specs for the Grand National are listed which includes the specific silver charcoal gray paint Lear Seigler seats, air dam, spoiler leather wrapped steering wheel etc. This bumped the price an additional $3,278 for this unique model in 1982 ½ Grand National. This was the start of something that would soon become the pinnacle of Grand Nationals, the 1986 and 1987 models with the top prize the 547 GNXs. The photo to the right shows 3 different versions of what dealers would post next to the window sticker indicating “Dealer installed Accessories and Service Charges”. The narrow long one is quite rare as it is a blank one from an actual Buick dealership in Illinois. The other big one shown is from a dealer inIndiana and it was attached to a 1987 Grand National. It's the last figure on this one that all bumped the retail price an additional $4,000. The price for this particular 1987 Grand National out the door was $23,052.00. This is before taxes and title fees etc. I can’t tell what date this was but it must have been near the end or at the end of production where demand was probably the greatest. So basically the Grand National started out with a whimper in the model year 1982 and closed out production with the 1987 production, specifically the GNX with a “bang”. All of this was well covered in great detail in the various car magazines. The GTO on the other hand, under the Pontiac banner did things in reverse. The early years 1964-65-66 started the muscle car revolution with its 4-speed tri-power formats and ended with a whimper in 1974 where the tent option was the big deal for the hatchback GTO. That 1974 GTO shared its body with the Chevrolet Nova and lacked power. Like the Grand National the early GTOs were titled as a Tempest or Lemans and the GTO package was listed as an option at the beginning before gaining its own model. Like the GNX was to the Turbo Regal the same can be said about the Judge models for the GTO. The Judge was a limited production model during the 3 years with enough differences from a regular GTO. I had two GTO Judges, a 1969 and a 1970. The 1969 was minus the drive train and the 1970 Judge was all original, 4-speed hardtop even still had the original paint. I sold it for $3500 with under 65,000 actual miles. Again this is strictly my opinion, but current values will back up my opinion. I was fortunate enough to be heavily involved with both GM car models during my years of being in the business. SPEAKING OF THE GNX - I had a rare opportunity to see a real GNX dash the other day that had been removed from a real GNX many years ago that was converted into a race car. PHOTO 2 - The photo to the left shows the front of the original GNX gauge package. The photo to the right shows the back of the original GNX gauge package. It may be hard to detect in the photos but the wiring is quite primitive. The speedometer ring does not match the tachometer ring. The same goes for the boost gauge matching the other 3 gauge rings. RARE PARTS OFFERING FOR THIS WEEK - See the Rare Parts section for the items featured in Photos 3 and 4 for prices. I finally got some of the parts featured here from a guy in Texas. He acquired a load of different items from someone who died. He discovered my name on some of the packages and contacted me. This has happened to me several times. This person was not a car guy. He also acquired a huge comic book collection among other items. I did buy 50 comic books as my brother loves reading them. I got a really interesting story from this seller that I will tell next week. PHOTO 3 - The top left photo shows the NOS GM set of 3.8 hood emblems with a Canada sticker on the back. Also a Grand National metal license plate. The top right photo shows a mint original GNX book. The bottom left photo shows the 1:18 scale 1986 black and gray T-Type brand new in the original double box. The bottom right photo is quite unusual as I never knew the GS Club ever offered their articles in several years of grouping. Two of the sections are still shrink wrapped! The 3 grouping covers 1997 thru 2003. Seems ironic to me as I am in the midst of doing something similar with over 150 of our monthly printed Grand News which we first published in the fall of 1987 and did around 2003-2004. Watch for updates on this soon! PHOTO 4 - The top left shows the 1:64 scale diecast #257 GNX Tractor Trailer with certificate and gold plate on underside #257. The top right photo shows the GNX art print #544 signed personally by Mike Doble with matching scaled down #544 window sticker. Stil in the original packaging. The bottom left photo shows the real prize GNX diecast GMP in the original double box. The bottom right photo shows Xray GNX owned by Rick Hunt. New in the original double box. All the car diecast are 1:18 scale in these photos. See the Rare Parts section for prices. UPCOMING BUICK EVENTS FOR 2023 - Below are three events that I am currently aware of. I plan to attend the GNX/GSX Reunion event held Friday June 23rd 2023 at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, PA. This may be the only Buick event I attend this year. More on this as the time draws near. Remember for more details etc concerning any of the three above mentioned Buick events contact John Csordas at 914-447-6068 or email is [email protected] 1987 GRAND NATIONAL WITH 645 ACTUAL MILES FOR SALE - A collector car dealer not sure of their location lists a 1987 Grand National with a mere 645 actual miles. The asking price is $104,990. Of course this is before you get it transported and pay taxes in your location. It's worth mentioning it's like having a prized artwork at that price you can only look at it. Drive it and the value starts to drop and you let 2023 air enter into the interior, reducing the levels of the 1987 air that is held captive in the interior! Ist it worth it in the year 2023? Maybe to a select few individuals that are young enough to hopefully gain more value in their lifetime! However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another. Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works. You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version. NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo. If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you.
