ANNOUNCING OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS M&M CONTEST -
Our annual Christmas M&M contest is open to all our Inner Circle subscribers. No guess prior to 3 pm today will be accepted. We will only accept one guess. You are guessing on how many M&Ms are in the TWO combined Christmas coffee mugs pictured. Contest is open to everyone except the last M&M contest winner, and any of those that are connected to any of the various mail order Buick companies. The closest under the actual count will be declared the winner in next week's Inner Circle. In case of a tie the earliest posted time will be declared the winner. This contest ends this coming Friday December 17th at 12 midnite eastern time. No exceptions. The winner will receive not only both M&M containers, but the plaque with the Grand National diecast with the turbo inlet bell and bag of M&Ms. As a bonus the winner also gets one of my wife’s Eileen hand crafted Christmas displays featuring a Grand Nationals in a glass jar. This is a limited production display for your desk or workshop.
We use these as gifts for special people plus this year Eileen made some extras that we have for sale. They are listed under the Rare Parts section for sale. Or if you are not a Inner Circle subscriber email me [email protected] and we can give you the information and if we have any available. They are very time consuming to make. A great display item that is quite unique and features a Grand National.
The winner will be announced next Wednesday's December 22nd Inner Circle. Remember after next week's Inner Circle the next Inner Circle will NOT be until January 5th 2022! I get a week off.
PHOTO 1 - The photo to the left shows the two Christmas coffee mugs that you are guessing how many M&Ms are in the two cups combined. We also picture the unique plaque with the diecast Grand National the winner will receive with the turbo inlet bell with the bags of M&Ms. The bottom photo shows 4 of the Grand National cars with a snowy Christmas tree strapped to the roof in a one pint jar. It has a tag that reads “WISHING YOU A BAD TO THE BONE CHRISTMAS” with 4 tiny bells. The cover has a Turbo-6 logo and a colorful checkered ribbon around the edge. NOTE: color of ribbons, style of trees, and colors on the tag vary. Supplies are limited. This year she made extra ones that we have for sale under the Rare Parts section. See the Rare Parts section for details on how to purchase this handcrafted Christmas Grand National display made by my wife Eileen. If you are not a subscriber email me [email protected] for pricing and availability.
UPDATE ON THE LAST GRAND NATIONAL GOING TO BARRETT-JACKSON AUCTION -
You can go to Barrett-Jackson's website and type in the Scottsdale date. You will find over 20 photos of the last Grand National built. Pretty cool seeing all these signatures on the washer bottle, turbo shield, upper plenum etc. It even says the last turbo on the shield. Be neat if some of those GM employees were there to witness the sale of this piece of history. Watch for rules of the next contest based on what you think the hammered price will be on this piece of history prior to the added fees.

KIRBAN STYLE GNX 16 BY 8 WHEELS -
You have to see the Rare Parts section as they are for sale. It's one thing to see once in a great while a set of our old style 16 by 8 GNX wheels for sale. We were the first company to make these. Many years ago I became good friends with the person that ran the chrome shop for American Racing Equipment. He happened to own a 1965 GTO. He contacted me in the early 1980s and said he could make the Pontiac Ralley I wheels. I said that would be a very costly undertaking. Plus they need to be certified or something for the highway. He said no problem, he would front the costs if I was interested. I said ok and thought this is a pipe dream. About 8 months goes by and he is close to having a production part. Sure enough true to his word he pulled it off. Powder coated SFI approved. He then did the center cap. We made them in 14 by 6, 14 by 7, 15 by 7 and 15 by 8. All of which fit nicely under any 1964-67 GTO. We were off and running. He even came to my son's wedding.
From that success he also did the Mopar 15 by 7 wheels and the Chevrolet rally wheels for the Corvette. All made in the USA and all SFI tested. We even did chrome Pontiac rally I wheels as that process is done prior to welding the center section into the outer rim. So with that background I approached him about the GNX wheel. Early on the only option was to locate 4 front trans am wheels or reach deep in your pockets with a VIN to a GNX and buy a set from GM which had a staggered offset designed to fit properly under the flared fender look.
Not being good at math and offsets etc I had him make very different offsets for me to try on our 1987 Grand National until we settled on the proper offset to fit the front and back with the GNX tire sizes. I even had him make some 15 by 8s as well. The wheel was a huge success. I know having them on my last test car a white 1987 Turbo T no wheel looks better against a white car.
I have no idea how many sets we made however I do know they are quite valuable to those owners that know what to look for. Personally it's been years since I even had a used set for sale. This set below is brand new in the box and 3 have never been out of the shrink wrapper!
In looking in my old catalogs…..the oldest printed catalog is 1989. They appear in that catalog at the price of $635 a set . Later years jumped to $675 per set. That catalog also lists them in 15 by and 15 by 8 sizes. So there is documented proof 2 years after production ended for the 1987 Grand National “Kirban” introduced the Kirban style GNX wheels! This set is listed for sale under Rare Parts and will include a copy of the catalog description and cover of the catalog showing the date of 1989. Over 30 years ago!
PHOTO 2 - The photo to the top left shows all 4 GNX style Kirban wheels. Note three are still shrink wrapped from new! The top right photo shows a close up of the one wheel I did remove from the packaging for the photo. The bottom left photo shows the actual SFI decal. The bottom right photo shows the four original shipping boxes from Classic Components in California which was the name of my buddies company that made these wheels. Some of you reading this probably weren’t even old enough to drive when these came out. !
PHOTO 3 -.The top left photo shows a powder coated spare tire washer and a used pair of front grille springs. The top right photo shows a complete spare and jack bracket kit. The bracket and spare tire washer are powder coated glossy black. The bottom left photo shows the passenger side bracket with both end sensors intact for any 1986-1987 Turbo Regal. The bottom right photo shows 2 EGR control valves. We show both with the filter removed. Many readers may not realize there is a filter in the back of this part. GM used a paper element or a foam element. Neither element is available from GM anymore. A bit of technical trivia for my readers to prove I do know a few things about these cars besides the fact 99% of them will always drip oil on the ground.
PHOTO 4 - The top left shows a still factory sealed Syclone model with a new front wheel drive Regal. The top right photo shows 3 different factory sealed Turbo Regals. The unusual one or rare is the first one. Johnny Lightning as you have to assemble it. The last one is rare also as it's a WH 1 two tone example. The bottom left photo shows a Buick Regal stock car factory sealed 1:24 scale made by GMP. The bottom right is quite rare; it is a set of the 5 cardboard license plates Buick dealers got in the mid 1980s time frame highlighting the 5 different T-Type models. The Century, Skyhawk, Skylark, Riviera, and of course the one we all know the Regal T-Type. These are rare to find brand new holes where never punched out to go on the cars in the dealer showroom. All these parts appear under Rare Parts for sale.
I just got to comment on Photo 4 in the top left. The plastic Regal factory GM assembled a 1:24 scale model. On the box it says This item is not a toy. Collectible car model for ages 16 and over. Plus nowhere on the box does it even say what year Regal it is? Is that because if sales were underwhelming in 1988 they could market it for 1989 and possibly later years with no changes? Frankly they are 1-2 years too late. They should have made a plastic model of the Turbo Regals, notably the Grand National. Can you imagine what they would be worth today? Or how about a factory GNX. Someone at Buick had a lot of pull to get the new front wheel drive Regal into an assembled 1:24 scale model for 16 year olds and older. I think a Yugo would be more popular!
Again referring to Photo 4 the bottom right photo. This is extremely rare finding these sets of cardboard Buick dealer license plates highlighting the 5 different T-Type models. Granted it's the Regal one that peaks your interest. Not a high dollar part for sure but I got several sets all can be found in the Rare Parts section.
FINALLY THE CORRECT REPRODUCTION 3.8 SFI HOOD EMBLEMS MADE IN THE USA -
As you read this we have our initial run of the new 3.8 SFI Turbo hood emblems coming our way. Made from the same mold we had done years ago. These have the correct black edge around the outline. It was the trunk lid 3.8 SFI Turbo emblem that had the all chrome edge. These we just had made were made in the USA! We have a special price if you buy 2 sets at the same time. It happens you wash your car and in the process of drying it the rag snags on the number 3 and bingo it breaks off. Buy two sets and it gives you two spares for those times you “screw up”. See the new products section to click on the link for the 3.8 SFI Turbo hood emblems. Part #6556 is for a single set (2) $49.95. Part #7966 is for 2 pairs for $89.95. (save $9.95).
NEW PARTS JUST ARRIVED BAD TO THE BONE BEANIE HAT & DECAL -
Years ago we used to sell a “Bad To The Bone” decal. This new decal measures 5 ¼ by 1 ¾ inches tall. We just had it done and at the same time sent that same art work out to have it embroidered on a black beanies style hat. The embroidery work is some of the best I have ever seen! Like the decal it is three colors. The script wording is outlined in black. The line between the main words is done in grey. The wording in the grey is black. The other two words are bright red. The decal almost looks like it was actually printed on the beanie hat! It is that crisp unlike the thread bare workmanship of the Power Six logo on the Grand National headrests that Buick did. That logo is terrible. The decal and beanie are not on the website yet. The part number for the Bad To The Bone beanie hat is #7967 the price is $21.95. Plus shipping. The Bad To The Bone decal is part number #7968 and is $4 each.
To order: You must call the office 215-766-1611 to order since it is not on the website. Both the decal and the beanie hats are in stock now. If you want to see a picture first email me personally [email protected] normally we don’t promote something before the part appears on our website, but with Christmas close at hand and because this product makes for a nice gift we wanted to get the word out this week.

THE NATIONAL NEWS GETS MORE UNUSUAL EVERY DAY -
In Alabama appears one or more Fed Ex drivers simply tossed several hundred packages in a ravine I assume to make their day go quicker? In New York a student entering the school with a backpack was found to have a weapon and more surprising thirty thousand dollars in cash on him! I know school lunches cost more now than when I was in school. Perhaps more important is what business venture is this kid in to have that much cash on him?
AUTOMOTIVE TV SITCOM COMEDY COMING SOON -
I just saw a quick blurb about a new TV show coming soon featuring a major US Automotive company run by a woman in Detroit. Called the American Auto on NBC. Finally a TV comedy centered around the automotive industry. One of the writers I believe also did the popular comedy TV show The Office a few years back. I am not sure when this new series is supposed to start. The date changes for January.

URGENT REQUEST -
We badly need the original not cracked 1986-1987 Turbo Regal AC Delco mass air flow sensors. Each core is worth a $40 letter of credit. Remember every core we get no matter what part it is we sometimes get ones that can’t be rebuilt. It's unfortunate, but true. It happens frequently with turbo cores especially. Also we need powermaster brake units and original 1986-1987 Turbos. We need cores to get rebuilt to help others maintain their cars. If the situation gets much worse it will force us to raise the price of cores as some customers are not returning them to get their core deposit back.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US –
1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
REPRODUCTION "3.8 SFI TURBO" HOOD EMBLEMS
These reproduction 3.8 SFI Turbo emblems “Made in the USA” and are an exact reproduction with the black edge. These are made from the same mold that we had them made from over 10 years ago.
Emblems are made exactly like the original in chrome plastic with the black edging with a self-adhesive backing. These are 100% correct for all 1984-1987 Turbo Regal hoods.
They are packaged as a pair and measure approximately 10" by 5/8”.
We also offer a special price if you buy two sets, part #7067.
Because the emblems are plastic, it is easy to accidentally break the “3” off the left end of the emblem when washing or drying your car. It’s a good idea to keep a spare set in case a piece breaks off.
To my knowledge we have the only reproduction emblems that are “Made in the USA.”
NOTE - The trunk 3.8 SFI emblem is part #7510 and does not have the black edge.
Another excellent replacement for any exterior restoration.
Here are the 2 options for these emblems.
6556 - 1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal - Reproduction “3.8 SFI TURBO” Hood Emblems (2) - $49.95

TR-6 HIGH TECH IGNITION SYSTEM
This is the complete kit including the custom grey plug wires, late model GM coil module, and upgraded TR 6 module. Detailed instructions are also provided with each kit.
This is higher than the stock power ignition system. It requires a 25A fuse in the CCC1 fuse to handle the increased current flow. The stock wiring is adequate to handle the increased current flow.
This kit is built by Bailey Engineering, who has many years in developing the various products we offer for ignition systems for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals.
You can set the Rev Limit with this kit.
The unit mounts in the stock location. It is a heavy die-cast powder-coated aluminum enclosure. It has an Advanced 32bit microprocessor. It includes a built in 2-step Launch Control System and can be ran in either wastepark or sequential firing.
Safety mode shuts down the engine if unsafe signals or sensors are detected.
Fully plug-and-play with the stock vehicle harness.
This is a must have upgraded ignition system if you are making modifications to the stock format.
NOTE - Due to the complexity of this system, we recommended it be installed by a qualified mechanic.
An excellent upgrade to the ignition system.

This set of plug wires has the proper lengths and proper connectors for the upgraded coil.
The wires are grey to closely resemble what Buick used originally on their spark plug wires.

REPRODUCTION UPGRADED FLOOR SHIFTER & HANDLE
We offer this new upgraded floor shifter with or without a NOS GM grey shifter handle.
NOTE - You will need to transfer your original parts to the new handle.
This new upgraded floor shifter has several improvements over the factory original shifter. The original shifter had a steel chrome-plated handle. This was prone to rust. Also the grove at the top where the handle locks in is subject to breaking, which causes the handle to not stay in the correct position.
The new handle is stainless steel so it will not rust and it is stronger than the original steel handle. Where the shifter cable attaches to the factory pin can wear over a period of time. This pin on the new shifter is stainless and welded into place to eliminate those issues.
Buick never painted the base plate or the driveshaft. Most are now rusted. The new plate is painted. The spring for the J hook can also rust and lose tension over time. The new spring has upgraded tension for cleaner, firmer shifts. The original J rod bends over time and will not always return into alignment of the detent bracket. This was solved by increased hardened steel. The detent bracket is also subject to wear issues. The new detent bracket is made in stainless steel to avoid those issues.
All these improvements make for a nice upgrade that you will quickly notice each time you shift from Park to Drive.
Another excellent replacement for any interior restoration.

REPRODUCTION GRAND NATIONAL15" x 7" WHEEL SETS
Because of many requests, we now offer reproduction Grand National wheels.
This high-quality reproduction of the popular chrome steel 15" by 7" Grand National wheel has been well received since it was first introduced a few years ago. Due to the high costs involved in getting original steel wheels re-chromed, it has made this reproduction Grand National wheel in aluminum extremely popular among Grand National owners. In order to re-chrome the original steel Grand National wheels, it requires the wheels to be cut apart so the center is separated from the outer rim.
These reproduction wheels have the same back spacing as the original wheels, 3.75". The entire wheel is fully powder coated. This was done for corrosion protection. The front of the wheel is done in the correct black powder coating. This will not flake off. The center caps with these wheels have the correct looking “Turbo 6” logo in the matching original colors. To make the caps stay in place on the wheel a snap ring is used on the back side of the cap.
The opening for the center cap is 3". You can install a T-Type center cap or a GNX-style center cap if you desire to achieve a different look. The inside lip that appears on the front of the steel wheels, which usually collected dirt and eventually rust, was eliminated. Water would generally get trapped in that area of the wheel.
Aluminum wheels have several advantages over the steel chrome wheels. The major advantage is the weight savings. Also, no more issues with rust. The typical steel Grand National wheel with center cap weighs 28.36 lbs. This reproduction aluminum 15" by 7" Grand National wheel with center cap only weighs 17.76 lbs. When you multiple by 4, you can see the tremendous weight savings over the steel chrome Grand National wheels.
All wheels are tested and speed rated. Each set comes complete with center caps, lug nuts, and valve stems.
Wheels are dropped shipped from Illinois and a set of 4 wheels generally costs about $65-$100 for shipping to any of the 48 contiguous states. Call for shipping for other states or Canada - 215-766-1611.

Reproduction FIBERGLASS FRONT & REAR BUMPERS
For the serious racer who wants every available advantage. These are made from the same bumper molds we used to sell over 35 years ago. My son did the prep work using the original bumpers on my 1987 Grand National.
These are for the serious racer and not designed for street use since they offer very little protection in case of an accident.
Both bumpers are done in black gelcoat and can be sanded and painted. The factory marker lights and bezels will fit the openings in the front bumper. Both molds were fully prepped and eliminated the rubber cushion completely. Both bumpers have a smooth front since the rubber cushion was completely eliminated. Both bumpers have fiberglass brackets on the back side that are slotted for adjustments to attach just like the original bumpers.
The fiberglass front bumper weighs just 8 pounds. The stock steel bumper with the reinforcement brace can weigh as much as 45 pounds depending on whether the reinforcement brace is steel or aluminum. You save 37 pounds.
The fiberglass rear bumper weighs less than 10 pounds. The stock steel rear bumper weighs as much as 45 pounds depending on whether it has a steel or aluminum reinforcement brace. You can shed as much as 35 pounds with this fiberglass rear bumper.
We have a special price if you buy both fiberglass bumpers at the same time.
NOTE - Our bumpers are for OFF ROAD USE ONLY! They are NOT made to withstand any collision! NOT LEGAL FOR STREET USE!
NOTE - We recommend these bumpers be installed by a qualified autobody shop. Bumper should be sanded and painted. Easy to install.
Another excellent replacement for any exterior restoration.
*NOTE - Price includes the shipping and handling UPS Ground Shipping to 48 U.S. continental states

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -
We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again.
Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING -
Remember, the weekly Inner Circle always goes out at 3 pm eastern time so subscribers all have the same equal chance on the Rare Parts. All our parts generally are priced to sell and below what others offer. Also our used items are exactly as described. Emails are acknowledged in the order we receive them regardless of when I respond as I am not always by a computer and I only use a flip phone. It's best to email as soon as possible as many of our items sell within the first hour! Do NOT call the office on the listed Rare Parts as you could lose out by someone beating you with an email. There is no Inner Circle email the week between Christmas and New Years. The one week I take off!
RARE PARTS SECTION UPDATE -
Be sure to check out the Rare Parts section as a subscriber. We changed a number of prices and did various package deals. With Christmas coming we got another trailer load of parts due in later this week. We wanted to clear out some of the existing parts.
CHRISTMAS GIFT CERTIFICATES -
Once again we can make Christmas Gift Certificates for you. Simply contact our office and my wife can make them up and we can mail it back to you in time for Christmas as long as you order it as soon as possible.

Our weekly Inner Circle reaches over 3,500 members every Wednesday direct to their inbox. The Inner Circle also appears every Wednesday on our website with the related photos. Your ad would be visible to both groups of readers. So, the exposure to your ad is well over 3,400 potential buyers.
Ads submitted properly by the previous Sunday would appear next Wednesday in the weekly Inner Circle. Ads must be submitted by email to - [email protected]
Payment by credit card must be done by phone to our office 215-766-1611.
NOTE - IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE THE BUICK RARE PARTS SECTION -
If you are not able to see the Buick Rare Parts section at the end of this Inner Circle, it is because you are not an actual Inner Circle member, but instead are reading this on the website. You must subscribe to see the Rare Parts section each week. It would go directly to your inbox every Wednesday afternoon. It is FREE, probably one reason why nobody complains about what I write about. To subscribe simply email – [email protected] - to get our free weekly Wednesday Inner Circle email.
Remember the Buick Rare Parts section is only viewed by those that subscribe.
