Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 05-19-2021 -

STILL AVAILABLE FOR SALE GNX 393 WITH 27,800 ACTUAL MILES -

This GNX has had the same owner for the last 3 years. In those three years he has driven it less than 1,000 miles. Car has had 3 previous owners, one of which owned it for 20 years. Originally sold down south when it was new.

Car comes with the window sticker and all related documents including the rare GNX jacket and book. Garage kept still retains the new car smell. Two things don’t work one you can probably guess - the power antenna the other is the AC has a slight leak. Neither issue affects the value. Car has all the original paint, no dents, no dings. Brand new correct size tires. Owner had the wheels redone so they appear like new!

Garage kept in a heated garage located in Michigan. Exhaust has been replaced but mufflers appear stock. Has a test pipe but the seller has the original catalytic converter. A real GNX!

Price is $92,500. Keep in mind JJ Best, one of the premier finance companies for collectable cars puts the GNX in the $130 grand price range for a pristine example. This GNX has not been offered for sale in the last 3 years anywhere else except through me for the owner. Enough extras mostly literature related goes with the car and would virtually fill the trunk. Keep in mind with the proper credit rating JJ Best will finance as much as 90% and this GNX is priced below its true retail market value. The seller wants to move in another direction and has priced his GNX to sell.

MORE BUICK “KNOW HOW” SERIES OF BOOKLETS -

Here are 4 more Buick KNOW-HOW booklets from my private collection. These four are in very nice condition.

I found a few more of these unique original Buick “Know How” booklets. See the next photo.

PHOTO 1 - The photo to the left we show the “Know How” booklet for 3.0 3.8, 3300 and 3800 driveability issues and the “Know-How” booklet for the power windows, door locks, and mirror issues. The photo to the right we show the “Know-How” booklet for driveability diagnosis, engine mechanical and the “know-How booklet for A/C diagnosis. These 4 booklets are listed for sale in the Rare Parts section at the end of this Inner Circle.

REARVIEW MIRROR-LIGHTED REAR VIEW MIRROR JEEP LOWER STEERING SHAFT -

As you know we have mint original rear view mirrors in stock all the time. Fortunately GM used that same 100% exact mirror for a few later years in other GM cars. Around the same time GM had as an option various styles of lighted rear view mirrors. The trick is to find a lighted GM rear view mirror that is identical in size and shape to the fixed rear view mirror found in the Turbo Regals and other G body cars. It is also important to find one that uses the same style set screw to attach to the metal tab that is already glued on the windshield. In other words one that looks factory correct had Buick offered it in the 1984-1987 G-Body cars. These mirrors have dual lights on them with a front switch to turn either on or to have when either door is opened. Ideally to install if you are getting your headliner redone as the wires would go behind the headliner to a power source such as the lighted visor mirror. This version of the lighter GM mirror is difficult to find in junk yards. I find very very few.

The other nice upgrade is to replace the lower steering shaft Buick used in the Turbo Regals. At the base of the stock lower steering shaft is what is commonly called a rag joint. A pressed fiber style joint that after 30 plus years gets spongy especially if it gets wet with engine oil. Adding to additional steering play is at the base of the upper steering is a 3-piece bearing secured by a c-clip format. Again the short coming here is for whatever reason the Regals did not get a metal bearing on this shaft. They simply got a rubber seal in place of a metal bearing. This would become evident if you ever replaced it.

I mention this because if you replace either the rag joint on your original lower steering shaft or install the Jeep lower steering shaft which has metal swivel joints at both ends you can easily upgrade that lower bearing on the upper shaft since you removed the lower shaft. By upgrading to the popular Jeep lower shaft it also frees up more room in that area of the engine compartment.

You replace the bearing with our metal bearing and upgrade to the Jeeplower steering shaft with metal swivel joints at both ends and a lot of the steering play will disappear. This is provided your steering box is still good. GM actually used a metal bearing in most of their other applications as this bearing kit fits a lot of GM cars and trucks from 1969 through 2002.

PHOTO 2 - We show on the photo to the left both the stock original rearview mirror and the upgraded dual lighted GM rear view mirror. Excellent upgrade for any T-Top car that lacks much interior lighting up front! The photo to the right we show the Jeep lower steering shaft with the upgraded 4-piece bearing kit. Also in the photo is the rag joint we sell if you decide to replace your original rag joint on the original lower steering shaft. The Jeep shaft is collapsible in case of an accident. Each to install and comes with directions. See the Rare Parts section for prices on them and the lighted rear view mirrors.

NEW ARRIVAL 1987 GRAND NATIONAL HARDTOP 19,100 MILES -

Car has been totally restored with extreme detail using many of the original parts. This Grand National spent several winters outside which is why it was totally restored with no expenses spared. Richard Clark rebuilt the entire engine. Car had only been titled once so every effort was made to save the original parts and inspection marks etc.

The interior was all replaced using the very rare original NOS pallex material not reproduction! The material alone was $300 a yard and it took 8 yards to do the entire interior. This does not include the cost to cut and fit it on the seats and door panels. Car was totally dismantled. Hundreds of hours were put in the body work for a mirror show quality paint job. The frame was painted, all the suspension parts and springs were powder coated. NOS GM roof rail seals were used. New power window motors, new reproduction Goodyear tires on mint original rims. Car is Kirban Quality. The car was rust free, no rot or metal work was required. All the body panels and gaps were perfectly aligned. The original radiator was rebuilt. Factory headers received the high heat ceramic coating. New Limit Engineering turbo was installed with a 1 year factory warranty. Corect new AC Delco battery. New motor mounts. Transmission completely sericed. New front and rear shocks control arms and new bushings ball joints. New brakes all around calipers pads rotors drums and shoes. New front and rear powder coated springs. Digital dash has been rebuilt by Caspers and reads past 85 mph. Even the original numbered plug wires were retained. A binder full of notes goes with the car.

NOS tail light lenses and car rides on brand new reproduction Goodyear GT tires. Frame off restoration. All new 22-piece body bushing kit and core support kit. Corect new exhaust system. New turbo. Valve covers and plenum powder coated. Radiator redone.

Options include digital dash, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, cruise, EQ radio, power antenna, dual remote mirrors, posi, and rear defroster. Original owners manual warranty booklet, maintenance books AC Delco radio book. Copy of the original dealer invoice, and original 1987 sales brochure.

For more details and photos email me directly [email protected] I have the car on my lift and can provide more detailed photos. Keep in mind JJ Best values these cars with low miles quite high and will finance up to 90% depending on your credit.

The price is $42,900. A good investment that can only climb as each year goes by. Since I am handling the sale we will consider a partial trade with any 1986-1987 Turbo Regal or other high performance car considered. I would have to see the car. I would pay the difference for the trade in allowance. Car is currently at my place so I can supply photos of the undercarriage etc as I have it on my lift.

PHOTO 3 - We show four views of this restored 19,100 mile 1987 Grand National hardtop.

1986-1987 TURBO REGAL SPARK PLUG WIRES -

One mistake many Turbo Regal owners make is they buy universal plug wires. The problem with universal plug wires is owners sometimes run some of the wires directly over their plenum which has sharp edges. Over a period of time the sharp edge can cause a misfire to that plug wire. Other issues can arise due to wires that are too long they can droop down and come in contact with the hot exhaust manifold. One company makes the correct printed plug wires. To my knowledge they do not wholesale to any other company. We get the correct length wires made in grey which closely matches the factory grey plug wires. We wholesale them to several other suppliers.

We have been getting these made for over 25 years. Made in the USA. The company that makes them for us makes wires for some of the Nascar teams. Nothing stands out more under the hood than having the correct looking plug wires on your engine. It's like the radiator cap has no ears and says Made in England. Also the 120 amp alternator most today you buy have a gold cad fan and pulley. Ones we sell both the 120 amp and 200 amp besides having a warranty and are all pretested have the correct looking black powder coated pulley and a silver cad fan. I just had to get over 50 fans done in silver cad because my alternator supplier can’t find any more silver cad fans; they all have gone to the gold cad appearance.

Each week brings new challenges to provide parts that closely resemble the original parts or in the really rare cases nail the original look exactly which is always the goal in the first place! Plus with the plug wires it's kind of next they used grey with black boots kind of matches the interior! Few years back we used to make Ford blue wires for several Mustang suppliers. My supplier can make virtually any ignition wire as long as the quantity is 30 sets or more. Interesting enough in the parts we bought this past weekend is a set of original good used 1986-1987 Turbo Regal plug wires. They are listed in the Rare Parts section.

1965 PONTIAC LEMANS/TEMPEST PROJECT CAR FOR SALE -

This car belongs to the person I just sold the last Grand National for. He had purchased this 1965 Lemans/Tempest ex race car in the early 1970s. It has been stored inside all those years. It is a post coupe. It has all the parts to convert it to a GTO. It was painted back in the 1970s and never reassembled since that time. Car is a 4-speed with console and a Hurst shifter. It has the proper 1965 GTO optional plastic wood wheel and the corect 1965 rally gauge cluster with tachometer. Under the hood sitting undisturbed since the late 1970s is a V8 engine probably a 389. It does have factory tri-power with the factory 3 air cleaners. Manual brakes. Car is painted a very dark blue and appears to have an original factory vinyl roof. All the glass is good. Seats are black and mint condition. Car rolls on 4 tires. It is a project to finish assembling. Most of the parts appear to be there. Car appears to be missing the inside door panels and carpet. Headliner is intact. Extra tail light bezels go with the car.

The wife is working on getting the title into her name as it was never transferred. Providing this can be done properly will determine the price of this 1965 Pontiac with all the parts. Car is located about 1 hour from my location and would have to be trailered. She is working on getting the title in her name since it was never transferred years ago when her husband bought the car. This may take several weeks.

For more info and pictures email me direct [email protected]

The price is $13,900.

PHOTO 4 - Here are four photos of this 1965 Pontiac Lemans/Tempest coupe. The body appears very solid and the paint has held up extremely well since the car has been garaged for over 40 plus years!

ANOTHER ITEM IS NOW NO LONGER AVAILABLE -

Our part number #6880 the 1986-1987 GM engine coolant cap. This is a part we have been buying for many years from GM. Their supply is exhausted. I am sure companies are looking into getting this made since it's very similar to the radiator overflow cap being plastic. Again we have none and it has been removed from our website.

JUST ARRIVED IN STOCK -

We just got in our next shipment of the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal plug wires. We have translators and sensors in stock as well. Also one redone ready to go steering wheel. Finding acceptable steering wheel cores is making this project very hard to keep offering.

MORE NEW TURBO REGAL PARTS COMING SOON -

Our goal is to add several new Turbo Regal parts each week to expand our product line. Coming soon a nice compact upgraded front brake set up that is a direct bolt on. A welcome upgrade to increase stopping ability no matter what brake system you have.

If you are returning any cores or products, it is important that you send them to the correct address.

Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.

If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.

When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.

Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

ABOUT OUR EMAILS -

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again.
