TWO TURBO REGAL PARTS THAT ALTHOUGH SMALL SERVE A NEEDED PURPOSE -
The two products I am referring to, Buick never made. The one part is a small shield we had made that duplicates exactly the one Buick did install over the sensors on the passenger inner fender. The purpose I assume for that shield is to help keep any water out. Our shield duplicates the purpose for the drivers side sensors. This is critical because the largest relay on that inner fender is not a sealed sensor. It can easily corrode and cause the electric fan run until it eventually kills your battery. I have had that happen years ago. Once installed hardly anyone would pick it out as not being a factory part. The relay cover is powder coated to match the one on the passenger inner fender. Part #6684. The price is $19.95. It is in stock.
The second small part I can’t take credit for was actually made years ago by Pete Tomka who owned a GNX and had this part fabricated for many years. Eventually he had us take the project over and we have them made locally. It's a pretty neat little part. It's a shield to cover your A-arm bushing on the passenger side to keep the heat from the factory down pipe ruining the bushing. It may fit with various aftermarket downpipes as well. Part #6852. The price is $28.95. It is in stock also. Neither part is a challenge to install. I have even done it!

A STORY OF COINCIDENCES -
The other week I got an email from a customer of ours seeing if he could pay me to check out a Typhoon he was considering buying. This buyer also happens to own our third test car, the 1987 blue Turbo-T that I bought years ago out of Florida and restored. The buyer saw the ad in the Syclone/Typhoon forum. It was listed as being in eastern Pennsylvania area. The buyer called and asked what city or town he lives in? The seller said probably one you never heard of Furlong, PA. The buyer said not only have I heard of it, but I bought a car out of that town. It gets even better turns out the seller lived at the corner of Sugarbottom Road and Lower Mountain Road not even a quarter mile from our old house! He only moved there about two years ago so he did not know me at first.
So I arranged to meet the seller for my customer and eyeball the 11,000 mile Typhoon and take it for a test drive. The vehicle is Kirban Quality. The seller only drove it about 300 miles since buying it in 2017. When we went for a test drive I pointed out my old house which we drove past. He later found out his one neighbor knows us as the guy who had all the Buicks.
The Typhoon brings back memories of our Syclone same hard quick shifts. Air tight cabin. Original tires being almost 30 years old were like square bricks. Even with old gas it ran quite well and did not miss a beat. Fresh gas and new tires and 50 mile blast at high speed down the road would cure the minor issues for sure.
So, having past my test the buyer and the seller made an agreement on that Friday. Next problem was payment was not going to happen til the following Monday. Normally that would not be an issue, but this major snow storm was going to hit this area starting Sunday and could last several days creating major issues. Because the buyer lived in the New England area they reached an agreement where the seller would give me the Typhoon Sunday morning before the snowstorm would hit this area and I would put it in my building. The seller did this knowing he was not going to get his money until Monday. This was an extremely nice gesture and a major gamble on his part! I got the Typhoon about an hour before the first snow flakes started to fall. The Typhoon rests inside our heated pole building waiting to go to New England. The title work was done with a long time friend of mine to make sure no errors were made. I got all the paperwork proving the actual miles and when it was purchased 3 years ago. Also the shop manuals for the truck and several magazine articles as well. With me working as the inbetween it gives additional insurance to the buyer that everything is done right. I already overnighted the title and all the paperwork to the buyer.
PHOTO 2 - We show various photos of this pristine Typhoon in my pole building. This is the reason the pictures are not that great as the lighting is only mounted on the 12 foot high ceiling. Also with it the buyer gets this huge stand up full color display board as well. The Typhoon got the deluxe interior and the EQ CD player. That radio/CD combo is a drop in perfect fit into any 1984-1987 Turbo Regal. We used to sell them when we could find them. PAS saved a few bucks by using the Syclone engraved cast intake instead of spending the money for tooling to make one specific that would say Typhoon.
PICTURES OF MEMORIES PAST -
As I have said many times we have trays of photos covering our involvement with the Turbo Regals since the fall of 1987 when we leased our first Grand National which led to creating a business for the popular Buick model.
PHOTO 3 - The top left photo is at one of our Spring Open Houses. Shows Molly on the right talking to two of our customers. Behind him was our last test car, the white 1987 Turbo-T that went to Texas. The top right photo goes way back to our old house and when I would store cars at our neighbors house in the winter. They went to their winter home in Naples, Florida and said I could park as many cars as I wanted at their house and in their garage. The silver one was a real nice example silver with a blue interior and blackout package. Most silver Ts had a grey interior. The bottom left shows the unique power passenger seat Pete Serio installed in my 3rd test car, the blue on blue 1987 Turbo-T. The seat and side trim came out of Cimarron proving even the lowly Cadillac Cimarron had some value! The bottom right shows a typical flea market space at the GS Nationals from many years ago when used Turbo Regal parts were plentiful. One can only imagine how many Turbo Regals died to stock pile this assortment!
MAJOR SNOW STORMS FROM YEARS PAST -
While searching for other photos I came across several others from our old house on Sugarbottom Road. We lived there from 1970 until 2005. In the one photo the white BMW 5 series Pete Serio located that car for me in Columbus, Ohio. I went out there and drove it back. It was a 5-speed manual. Beautiful car. Unfortunately the buyer wrecked it about a week after buying it from me!
PHOTO 4 - The top left shows a Grand National alongside our BMW 5 series and probably a Turbo Regal behind the Grand National. The top right photo shows our M3 BMW buried from another winter blast. The bottom left shows a Grand National at our house after a major snow storm. The bottom right shows our VW bus and Divco milk truck that we would put the outgoing UPS packages in each day. The VW bus went to Texas and the Divco milk truck went to Michigan before we moved. Both in their own way have become very collectible. Not pictured but I also had a mid 1960s Ford panel truck and a red Yugo. Junked both of them prior to moving from our old house. The Yugo would have made a nice lawn ornament.
UNUSUAL COLLECTOR CAR FOR SALE -
This car just popped up for sale. It is near me just a few towns south of our old house. I have never owned one, but did drive one few years back that I almost bought. They handle extremely well being Mercedes had a big part into the drivetrain and suspension. It is somewhat rare being a 6-speed manual. Car is well optioned and an original Canadian car so the speedometer reads in kilometers. Being formatted in kilometers is not an issue to registering the car in the US.
Car is a 2004 Chrysler Limited Crossfire. Has just 70,000 miles on it. Latest PA inspection. Silver with matching silver interior. All the manuals are included with the car. Even the power rear wing works. Ad says super clean runs and drives 110%. Heated leather seats which are nice. The Crossfire was a joint project between Chrysler and Mercedes Benz. The asking price seems quite fair for $5800. Email me [email protected] as I got the phone number for the dealer and I may be able to get more information. From what I read 2004 was the first year of production. I would think being a 6-speed manual, and a Canadian sold model it would be somewhat rare.
BREAKING NEWS - IN STOCK REDONE 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL LEATHER WHEEL -
It has been several months since we have had a redone grey leather wrapped 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering wheel available for sale #7135. Problem is anytime you deal with cores it is very tough to get usable cores back. Steering wheels are extremely difficult to obtain good ones. Spokes with pitted rust on them are not ones we want. This will sell quickly. Best to call our office 215-766-1611 if you want one. Currently I have no other cores getting done.
REBUILDING SERVICE FOR ALTERNATORS, GENERATORS, STARTERS -
Once in a while we get a request to see if we can get the original older alternators rebuilt like we do for the Turbo Regals. Last week a owner of a 1967 GTO contacted me and he is sending me his to get done by our source. The alternator can be off any make or model car not just GM. Once I get it I will take a picture of before and after. My source can virtually rebuild any old generator or starter for virtually any old car or truck. Last week he did one for 1936 LaSalle. In each case he will pump up the amps as many of the older alternators only put out 37 to 60 amps. Higher output windings make the vehicle run better and keep the voltage at a normal rate. Each part is tested and the finished product is bench tested to make sure it is working properly. My source has been doing this for well over 35 years. I have known him most of that time. Not only will they look new externally and correct with new and refurbished internals, but even be better than they were when they were new originally. They will also come with the same limited warranty. Each one is tested before I get them back. The price would be $179.95 for any of the older alternators plus shipping. For other applications such as starters and generators email me direct [email protected] for pricing.
Turn around time 5 to 7 days is my initial guess as he is only a few towns away from where we live. With it being winter time it's the perfect time to remove your original alternator or generator and have it rebuilt. It doesn’t pay to risk buying one that has been mass produced. The alternator or generator is one of the most visible parts in the engine compartment. You would ship your part with your info to KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS, 529 Haycock Run Road, Kintnersville, PA 18930. Once I get one to take a picture we will get this new service on our website. I imagine a portion of our customers have other collectible cars and would like to have this service available to them.
In the 1970s I used to get Hurst shifters rebuilt for my GTO customers. Hurst did it free and would take several days. The advantage I had was I dropped it off in the morning and by dropping a dozen Yum Yum donuts off at the same time I got the shifter back later that morning and shipped it UPS back to my customer. I think we charged $35 back then for this hands-on service. We did a lot of them! I was going there almost every day. Customers were happy and Yum Yums had bigger sales on those days!

COLLECTOR CAR COLLECTION UPDATE - THREE TURBO REGALS & ONE SYCLONE -
All these are still available. The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. These cars are located in Tennessee.
In each case he has the original parts that he removed years ago when the modifications were done. Some of them have the very desirable AVC GNX style dash installed. In each case email me [email protected] and let me know which car interests you. I can forward you more photos and supply you with the email address to the seller.
All the below cars have been fitted with SECO alarm systems and keyless entry. In my opinion the blue 1986 T-Type is a fairly rare car due to its color. Plus it has low miles. All these cars have always been in Tennessee so rust is not an issue. All have been garaged most of their life.
He has a white 1987 Turbo Regal with T-Tops. He did not buy this car brand new. It has the M & A Casting aluminum heads on them that were introduced in the early 1990s time frame. I had one of the first sets on our personal Grand National. Back then they sold for around $2500 a set. This car has been raced and has run in the high 6 second range for the ⅛ mile. The car is slightly twisted due to its racing history and the fact it has T-Tops. Mileage is about 75,000. The price is $25,000 OBO.
The 1987 Grand National he purchased this car brand new and has 112,000. It has the rare astro roof option. It was repainted many years ago 1984 Corvette firemist color. Reasonably priced at $20,000 OBO.
The light blue Turbo Regal is a 1986 T-Type Regal. He purchased this car brand new. Due to the original poor quality paint job he actually had the Buick dealership respray the car under warranty. Internally stock with zero rust. Car has approximately 67,000 miles. It is a hardtop. The price is $25,000 OBO.
He also purchased the Syclone brand new. Like all the others listed here this also has been garaged since new. Mileage is approximately 9,500. The price is $44,900 OBO. The last three digits of the VIN is 294 which I believe is also the number of the Syclone produced.
For more photos on any of these three Turbo Regals and the Syclone email me directly [email protected] and specify which car perks your interest.
NOW IN STOCK -
We just got in another supply of the popular black 9-piece trunk kits. The black 9-piece kit outsells the grey 9-piece trunk kit. Either kit finishes the trunk area far better than the flimsy piece of carpet Buick tossed in the trunk. I suggest you call our office if you want either trunk kit. The part number is #6510 for the grey kit and #7764 for the black trunk kit. The supplier is always backed up so orders take awhile. The 9-piece trunk kit is identical to the factory option. Plus it hides that spare and jack that you probably don’t have in the trunk the way Buick did it from the factory! It may be several weeks before we get any more in stock.

IMPORTANT - INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SHIPPING ADDRESS –
If you are returning any cores or products, it is important that you send them to the correct address.
KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
529 HAYCOCK RUN ROAD
KINTNERSVILLE, PA 18930
We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US –
“KIRBAN CUSTOMS INC.
HINTS & TIPS FOR BUYING AND BUILDING KIT CARS” Book
We are offering an interesting book, written by my son Darrell Kirban in 2000, relating to the auto kit car builders market. His skills for painting, body work and custom design work started at a very early age.
“KIRBAN CUSTOMS INC. HINTS & TIPS FOR BUYING AND BUILDING KIT CARS” gives useful and practical information based on the many kit car projects and years of experience he has designing and building kit cars.
The book measures 6″ x 9″, has over 100 pages, and 22 chapters with over 150 photos and illustrations.
Some of the chapter titles include: Choosing and Preparing the Donor Car, Choosing a Quality Kit, Wheels and Offsets, Useful Tools for Your Project, Hinging and Latching Panels, Mounting the Body, Basic Fiberglass Techniques, Bodywork, Interiors, Paint, Finishing Touches, Insurance and Appraisals, and Related Magazines.
If you are interested in kit cars, you’ll enjoy this book as Darrell has a knack for writing so the average person can understand the procedures. You may also know someone that is interested in kit cars and this would be a great gift item for them. Limited supplies available.
NOTE - Our copies will be autographed by Darrell Kirban while supplies last.
If you already have my book, “Kirban’s Guide to the 1986 and 1987 Buick Turbo Regals,” (part #6757) you could own books from two generations of Kirbans. You could also go to eBay and find one of my dad’s books (search Salem Kirban.) He wrote over 50 books on Bible prophecy and health. This would give you books spanning three generations.

STAINLESS STEEL BLACK POWDER-COATED LICENSE FRAMES WITH TAGLINE DECAL -
OR TAGLINE DECALS -
One thing that has been missing all these years for the Turbo Regal owner is a nice stainless black powder-coated license plate frame. We have designed several with a unique tagline referring to some of the most collectible high-performance car models.
We have come up with the various designs shown in Photo 2.
The handsome metal black license plate frame measures 12-1/4″ x 6-1/4″, which is the standard size to hold state license plates. Frames are made from stainless steel, then powder-coated black for lasting quality.
Included with each frame is a packet of new attaching hardware, complete with black caps so the hardware doesn’t show.
Each frame comes with the decal already affixed. Most of the decals are white wording on a black background. Several decals are two colors (white and red) on a black background.
Notice the font style for the tagline “HIGH OUTPUT V6” decal matches the 3.8 sfi turbo hood emblems.
We also offer each decal separately in case you would like to apply it to any signs, a toolbox, etc.
Choose from the selection below.
NOTE - We offer the decals for $5 each. If you contact the office at 215-766-1611, you can purchase more than one decal at a time for a lower price. Example - Buy any 2 decals for $8.95 (save $2.05.) You must call to order multiple decals.

“A BOOST OF BUICK PERFORMANCE”
OWNER’S MANUAL HOLDER
Usually the more expensive GM cars have a nice holder for their Owner’s Manual.
Originally Buick put all the documents in a plain clear plastic bag. Since these turbo cars didn’t come with a holder in the car, we’ve designed one.
Our black vinyl Owner’s Manual holder measures 6-3/4" x 10" and fits perfectly in your glove box.
The words “A BOOST OF BUICK PERFORMANCE” appear in silver below the flap.
There are two business card holders on the flap. You can insert your insurance company agent’s business card or your mechanic’s business card.
This holder is great for storing the Owner’s Manual, Warranty cards, insurance papers, service records, etc.
It also makes a great gift item for any car enthusiast.
An excellent protection for your Owner’s Manual and documents.

Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.
NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -
We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ABOUT OUR EMAILS -
Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING -
We were recently contacted by two sources that once the winter weather ends hopefully we can strike a deal on a bunch of parts that both these sellers have accumulated over a number of years. In one case the individual has passed away. In the other instance the seller recently turned 80 years young.
Please, if you have any original 1986-1987 Turbo Regal turbos, cash them in with us for the $175 Letter of Credit. This helps us help our customers obtain the rebuilt turbo they need for their car.
