HANK’S CARS -
Hank is a local friend that we have known for over a dozen years. He has come to many of our Open House and Reunion events in years past. Usually he brings one of his ultra rare muscle cars.
He owns a LED light company that is about 20 minutes from our shop. In this same building he houses his extensive car collection, which numbers over 75 cars. It’s an impressive collection ranging from Studebakers to the exotics including the AMG Mercedes, Acura NSX, and the Nissan GT-R. He has enough Corvettes where he could drive a different one every day of a week. He also has a 1987 Turbo-T and a 1987 Grand National as well as 4 different Syclones and Typhoons.

PHOTO 1 - The top left photo shows a close up of Hank’s 2009 XLR V Cadillac. This is 1 of just 9 made in the rare black cherry color. This one with a tan leather interior is just 1 of 1 produced! The bottom left photo shows his 1987 Grand National with T-Tops. The car is like brand new. The top right photo shows a lineup of just some of his Corvettes, which includes several of the 1966-1967 Big Block models. The bottom right photo shows the Typhoons and Syclones. NOTE - He has one of the very rare red Syclones.
He has donated a few of his LED products for our upcoming Spring Open House. One of the products he donated impressed me so much, I decided to add it to our product line and sell to our market. It is a Solar Motion Exterior Light.
I researched the specifics with the one he offers versus solar lights in some of the local stores. His product, for the money in size and specifications is far more superior from what I have found in various local stores. It’s also a very compact size measuring just 4 inches by 6 inches and weighs just 6 ounces.
SOLAR MOTION EXTERIOR LIGHT -
I think all my readers will agree that the solar industry is really coming on big in recent years. Probably the only group that frowns on this is your electric company!
What makes this solar motion exterior light special is the fact it has 3 modes settings. Also, unlike what is available in various stores, this one has 36 individual LED lights which has the output equal to a 100 watt incandescent light bulb! The lithium battery is good for 50,000 hours.
This compact unit is built for outdoor use in a white high-density polymer plastic and aluminum case. It measures a mere 4 inches by 6 inches by just ½ thick and weighs just 6 ounces. This Solar Motion Exterior Light easily lights up any distance around an exterior doorway or garage entrance. It can also be mounted and attached to any tree by your walkway. The ideas are endless on placement. It quickly pays for itself since it uses no energy, just sunlight!
It puts out 450 lumens with the 36 individual LED lights. So, when you compare this compact model to any similar ones found elsewhere, this model is tough to beat with its compact size, light brightness, and it’s waterproof as a very reasonable price. With 3 modes, you can set it to work by detecting motion or simply go on at low light at dust.

EXAMINING THE 1987 GM CAR WARRANTY -
Until now we have not touched on the GM warranty that was available on these cars when they were new. In 1987, they did make a few changes to the warranty from the previous years. Basically, it was a 6-year or 60,000-mile warranty, whichever occurs first. This was offered to the first retail purchaser or the second retail purchaser with a Warranty Transfer Identification Card. If the second retail purchaser did not have a transfer card, they only had a 3-year or 36,000-miles warranty.
The point is mute now since the cars are 30 years old. At best, depending on the record keeping of the owner, you may have the original information and possibly the warranty card from 1987 or earlier.
PHOTO 3 - Here we show 7 original GM Protection plans brochures covering 1986 and 1987 GM cars. The earliest one was revised in 9/85. The second one shown was revised in 3/86. The third one is for 1987, followed by 3/87 revised issue, then a 9/87 revised issue, and last a 11/88 revised issue. I have no idea if what I have pictured here covers all the revisions GM issued for the 1986 and 1987 GM cars. You could have virtually any of these with your car records.
PHOTO 4 - We show the 2 related GM warranty items you are probably most familiar with. The photo to the left shows a mint, never used Protection GM Plan window decal. This would have been on the inside glass, usually on the side quarter window. The second photo shows the plastic business side card the owner received listing the VIN number, name of the owner, expiration date and expiration mileage. These cards were basically the size of a typical credit card. These warranty-related items are very difficult to find today.

Speaking of our April 22nd Spring Open House, you can hit 3 major car events on the same week.

Friday you can travel to the New York Auto Show at the Jacob Jarvits Center and witness the unveiling of the Dodge Demon for the first time.
Last, but not least, attend our annual Spring Open house Saturday, which is about a two-hour drive from the New York City area.

WORLD’S TOP BILLIONAIRES -
The world’s top billionaire for the fourth year in a row is Bill Gates. No surprise there! He is currently worth a cool $86 billion. This is up from a mere $75 billion last year.
It’s interesting that one of the newcomers to the billionaire list is not only a woman, but she hails from Vietnam. She is the first woman from Vietnam to join the billionaire exclusive club. She owns the budget airline VietJet in Vietnam. Once again, the U.S. has the most billionaires on record.
ONE BIG EMBARRASSING MISTAKE -
A man staying at his parent’s house decided to incinerate an ant problem in his parent’s basement. Unfortunately, there were combustible materials nearby, which quickly ignited. When it was all said and done, 3 family pets perished and the house was destroyed.
Here’s hoping any mistakes you make do not have major consequences! The person did live and I assume was faced with telling his parents what happened. I hope any mistakes you make are on a smaller scale!
RUNNING OUT OF GREY PALLEX MATERIAL -
We have almost exhausted original dated Grand National grey pallex seat material. The largest single section we have is less than 3 yards long. Everything else we have are in smaller sections from various years.
I have completely wiped out the source for original grey pallex material. If there is one spare item you should have, it’s a section of original grey Grand National pallex seat material as it’s also the same for both upper halves of the door panels. None of the reproduction materials comes close to having the real originals dated grey pallex material.
I still have some black original pallex material available.
HUGE URGENT NEED FOR POWERMASTER BRAKE CORES -
Right now we will issue a Letter of Credit for $125 for every complete powermaster brake unit you send us. Normally it’s $100 but because of low inventory of cores, we need powermaster brake units. Why not do it now? It also helps us help others. Or, bring to our Spring Open House in April, which saves you shipping costs.

Our Spring Open House will be held rain or shine on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017. It is the same weekend as Spring Carlisle. Spring Carlisle starts Wednesday the 19th. You could hit two car events, since Carlisle is only about two hours west from our location. I go to Spring Carlisle midweek every year.
Our Open House will have the usual features - YumYums donuts, M&Ms contest, sale prices on new parts, tagged and bagged goodies, and no reserve auction. We already are putting aside unique items for the no reserve auction, including several GNX items and original pallex seat material. Several featured items will be discounted to save shipping. As the date draws closer, we will list which large items we will have a special show price. The usual array of tagged and bagged used parts and literature will be for sale as well.
We are currently requesting raffle items from many of the various Turbo Regal vendors that we sell to. We want to make this event special since it is our 30th year. We have a food vendor coming. You will be able to purchase hot dogs, Kielbasas, hamburgers, chips, and various drinks.

The location is Castle Performance, 220 River Street, Lemont, Illinois. I have arranged with Paul Castle and the local Buick GS Club to coordinate this event since I will be in Illinois as a speaker later that week at the GTO National convention.

CARLISLE CHRYSLER NATIONALS -
JULY 14-16, 2017

This year’s Chrysler event has a special all new Hurst Nationals July 14th and 15th in conjunction with the Chrysler Nationals. I have been asked to conduct a seminar on Hurst both days, July 14th and 15th. The location of my seminars as well as the other seminars is held just off the grounds from Gate 3 at the Expo Center. They have not yet told me my speaking times.
My granddaughter, Devyn hopes to go with me to help. With Chrysler introducing the Demon this April, my guess is they will have several Demons on display at Carlisle. Hope to see some of my customers at this event. I am as well versed with early Hurst history as I am with Turbo Regals.
As with all my seminars, I will be doing a M&Ms contest in honor of my parents. The Don Garlits autographed connecting rod will make a nice prize!

EXTERIOR SOLAR LED MOTION LIGHT PANEL
This exterior solar LED motion light panel is a neat compact product that fills a need for any home owner, shop owner, or apartment owner. It’s a simple and inexpensive method to light up a walkway at your house, or garage door way.
Since it’s powered by the sun, it means zero electric costs!
Panel is compact, just 4" x 6" x 1/2". The housing is white. It has 36 LED lights that equals the output of a 100 watt incandescent bulb! It does this with zero costs to your electric bill.

When converting your car to a modern Mass Air Flow sensor, such as an LT1 or LS1 style sensor, a translator is needed. This is a custom-made mounting bracket to hold the Mass Air Flow Sensor Translator.
This bracket provides a simple, yet effective way of mounting the Translator in a convenient location.
This clever bracket was designed and produced by one of our customers. He saw a need to eliminate have the translator wire tied under the hood.
The bracket is made in acrylic and painted black. It mounts using existing holes. NO modifications are made to the car or to the translator. It also leaves enough space below the bracket to access the headlight wiring or if you have the charcoal canister and stock intake or even a 4" Cold Air Intake pipe.
Once installed, the custom-made bracket is barely visible.
The bracket comes with a spacer and easy-to-follow directions.

HANK’S CARS -
Hank is a local friend that we have known for over a dozen years. He has come to many of our Open House and Reunion events in years past. Usually he brings one of his ultra rare muscle cars.
He owns a LED light company that is about 20 minutes from our shop. In this same building he houses his extensive car collection, which numbers over 75 cars. It’s an impressive collection ranging from Studebakers to the exotics including the AMG Mercedes, Acura NSX, and the Nissan GT-R. He has enough Corvettes where he could drive a different one every day of a week. He also has a 1987 Turbo-T and a 1987 Grand National as well as 4 different Syclones and Typhoons.

PHOTO 1 - The top left photo shows a close up of Hank’s 2009 XLR V Cadillac. This is 1 of just 9 made in the rare black cherry color. This one with a tan leather interior is just 1 of 1 produced! The bottom left photo shows his 1987 Grand National with T-Tops. The car is like brand new. The top right photo shows a lineup of just some of his Corvettes, which includes several of the 1966-1967 Big Block models. The bottom right photo shows the Typhoons and Syclones. NOTE - He has one of the very rare red Syclones.
He has donated a few of his LED products for our upcoming Spring Open House. One of the products he donated impressed me so much, I decided to add it to our product line and sell to our market. It is a Solar Motion Exterior Light.
I researched the specifics with the one he offers versus solar lights in some of the local stores. His product, for the money in size and specifications is far more superior from what I have found in various local stores. It’s also a very compact size measuring just 4 inches by 6 inches and weighs just 6 ounces.

I think all my readers will agree that the solar industry is really coming on big in recent years. Probably the only group that frowns on this is your electric company!

EXAMINING THE 1987 GM CAR WARRANTY -
Until now we have not touched on the GM warranty that was available on these cars when they were new. In 1987, they did make a few changes to the warranty from the previous years. Basically, it was a 6-year or 60,000-mile warranty, whichever occurs first. This was offered to the first retail purchaser or the second retail purchaser with a Warranty Transfer Identification Card. If the second retail purchaser did not have a transfer card, they only had a 3-year or 36,000-miles warranty.
The point is mute now since the cars are 30 years old. At best, depending on the record keeping of the owner, you may have the original information and possibly the warranty card from 1987 or earlier.
PHOTO 3 - Here we show 7 original GM Protection plans brochures covering 1986 and 1987 GM cars. The earliest one was revised in 9/85. The second one shown was revised in 3/86. The third one is for 1987, followed by 3/87 revised issue, then a 9/87 revised issue, and last a 11/88 revised issue. I have no idea if what I have pictured here covers all the revisions GM issued for the 1986 and 1987 GM cars. You could have virtually any of these with your car records.
PHOTO 4 - We show the 2 related GM warranty items you are probably most familiar with. The photo to the left shows a mint, never used Protection GM Plan window decal. This would have been on the inside glass, usually on the side quarter window. The second photo shows the plastic business side card the owner received listing the VIN number, name of the owner, expiration date and expiration mileage. These cards were basically the size of a typical credit card. These warranty-related items are very difficult to find today.

The world’s top billionaire for the fourth year in a row is Bill Gates. No surprise there! He is currently worth a cool $86 billion. This is up from a mere $75 billion last year.
It’s interesting that one of the newcomers to the billionaire list is not only a woman, but she hails from Vietnam. She is the first woman from Vietnam to join the billionaire exclusive club. She owns the budget airline VietJet in Vietnam. Once again, the U.S. has the most billionaires on record.
ONE BIG EMBARRASSING MISTAKE -
A man staying at his parent’s house decided to incinerate an ant problem in his parent’s basement. Unfortunately, there were combustible materials nearby, which quickly ignited. When it was all said and done, 3 family pets perished and the house was destroyed.
Here’s hoping any mistakes you make do not have major consequences! The person did live and I assume was faced with telling his parents what happened. I hope any mistakes you make are on a smaller scale!
RUNNING OUT OF GREY PALLEX MATERIAL -
We have almost exhausted original dated Grand National grey pallex seat material. The largest single section we have is less than 3 yards long. Everything else we have are in smaller sections from various years.
I have completely wiped out the source for original grey pallex material. If there is one spare item you should have, it’s a section of original grey Grand National pallex seat material as it’s also the same for both upper halves of the door panels. None of the reproduction materials comes close to having the real originals dated grey pallex material.
I still have some black original pallex material available.
HUGE URGENT NEED FOR POWERMASTER BRAKE CORES -
Right now we will issue a Letter of Credit for $125 for every complete powermaster brake unit you send us. Normally it’s $100 but because of low inventory of cores, we need powermaster brake units. Why not do it now? It also helps us help others. Or, bring to our Spring Open House in April, which saves you shipping costs.

The location is Castle Performance, 220 River Street, Lemont, Illinois. I have arranged with Paul Castle and the local Buick GS Club to coordinate this event since I will be in Illinois as a speaker later that week at the GTO National convention.

CARLISLE CHRYSLER NATIONALS -

This year’s Chrysler event has a special all new Hurst Nationals July 14th and 15th in conjunction with the Chrysler Nationals. I have been asked to conduct a seminar on Hurst both days, July 14th and 15th. The location of my seminars as well as the other seminars is held just off the grounds from Gate 3 at the Expo Center. They have not yet told me my speaking times.
My granddaughter, Devyn hopes to go with me to help. With Chrysler introducing the Demon this April, my guess is they will have several Demons on display at Carlisle. Hope to see some of my customers at this event. I am as well versed with early Hurst history as I am with Turbo Regals.
As with all my seminars, I will be doing a M&Ms contest in honor of my parents. The Don Garlits autographed connecting rod will make a nice prize!

EXTERIOR SOLAR LED MOTION LIGHT PANEL
This exterior solar LED motion light panel is a neat compact product that fills a need for any home owner, shop owner, or apartment owner. It’s a simple and inexpensive method to light up a walkway at your house, or garage door way.
Since it’s powered by the sun, it means zero electric costs!
Panel is compact, just 4" x 6" x 1/2". The housing is white. It has 36 LED lights that equals the output of a 100 watt incandescent bulb! It does this with zero costs to your electric bill.
It has 3 different modes that you can set. 1 - It can come on at dust on low power and stay on until dawn. 2 - It can be set to come on at dust on low power, go to full power by motion, then revert back to lower power. 3 - It can be set to go on by motion at dust on full power and turn off after about 10 seconds if no motion is detected or activate by motion walking by it.
Most small solar powered outside motion lights are rated at only 20 to 50 watt and less than 400 lumens, unless you buy the larger ones. This one equals a 100 watt incandescent light and 450 lumens. Not only is this compact and bright enough to light any walk way or entrance, it is priced below most units available in stores.

TRANSLATOR CUSTOM-MADE BLACK MOUNTING BRACKET
When converting your car to a modern Mass Air Flow sensor, such as an LT1 or LS1 style sensor, a translator is needed. This is a custom-made mounting bracket to hold the Mass Air Flow Sensor Translator.
This bracket provides a simple, yet effective way of mounting the Translator in a convenient location.
This clever bracket was designed and produced by one of our customers. He saw a need to eliminate have the translator wire tied under the hood.
The bracket is made in acrylic and painted black. It mounts using existing holes. NO modifications are made to the car or to the translator. It also leaves enough space below the bracket to access the headlight wiring or if you have the charcoal canister and stock intake or even a 4" Cold Air Intake pipe.
Once installed, the custom-made bracket is barely visible.
The bracket comes with a spacer and easy-to-follow directions.

Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
